Didn't want to do anything too radical right off the bat. I do plan to expand the playable space into that street where the soldiers are marching, so I'll likely redo that whole area. I'm also considering changing the lighting to go more for that gloomy and dark look from the concept art, cause honestly it looks pretty bland right now.
Sounds like a plan. I'd like to see how you do the soldier parade. Every version of it I've seen has been kinda fucky looking. Good luck dude.

It wasn't exactly broken during porting, it's origin/angles were messed up and I was too lazy to fix it via $origin. No big deal.

I guess technically it could be possible but its unlikely so I'd change it. Also, I'm considering dropping the sickly green sky & lighting in favor of something else. I'm not quite sure yet

@Junk & ScarT Say, can you elaborate on the GabeNet? What was it, exactly, what's become of it? Why did some people (on Russian forums) think you were fascists who deliberately block Russian users on GabeNet? That's exactly what I was told some years ago, anyway.
GabeNet was supposed to be our own clone of Steam to distribute GabeN HL2, but that kinda fell through. I don't remember anything about blocking Russians in particular. Maybe just a couple people from Grigori's Forum who were particularly antagonistic towards us, but that's only a retroactive guess as to why you think that is the case. At any rate, I don't even remember if we made anything available through it at all. slkandy was programming it, he'd remember better than me. I do remember it was tied into our website where screenshots that I took were automatically uploaded. Not sure if that screenshot library still exists though.
I had a thought about Half-Life 2 Beta Deathmatch before. It was pretty horrifying, mostly about how many more "bullshit" deaths there would be. Not just a SLAM waiting around the corner, hallways full of Hopwires. Rather than pulse orbs bouncing around tiny rooms, there'd be Combine Guard Gun shots sniping you from across the map. Instead of a toilet to the head via Gravity Gun, the GMod favorite of wildly swinging a physics prop around in front of them with the Physics Manipulator. Sticky Launcher, Immolator, the list goes on.
Yeah it would be pretty ridiculous, but I guess if one were to tweak the weapons to not be so absurd it could work in a sort of everyone-has-the-same-overpowered-nonsense-weapons kind of way. At least there would be a real sniper rifle.

Oh well! Anyway, that was a second-hand information, which I was told about the time I just started DI. That kinda set me against you back then, to be honest. I was somewhat gullible. If I remember correctly, there was a thread on hl-beta.spb.ru, dated back 2008, about alpha testing either TF2 fix or HL2DM fix. Some people wanted to participate but Gabenet didn't work for them, which led to speculation about Russian IPs being banned in the system. P. S. Downloaded a MP fix from hl2-beta.ru, gonna try it. Is leak MP in general similar to HL1 Alpha MP, or even worse than that?
