• Half-life 2 Cut Content - Is it me or dose the cut content look better than what we got?
I thought Valve got so butthurt over the disagreement that they decided to postpone TF2 for 10 years and redesign everything so there's no trace of Halo models? Either way, the only way to bring back the true storyline of Half-Life 2 is by merging all the teams into one and making everything in a month. We can replace all the missing content with STALKER props, they'll fit the atmosphere perfectly.
Don't forget to retexture all of the Citadel models to be yellow corrugated steel in order to fit the atmosphere of the Half-Life 2 leak!
Did they actually leak it or are you guys just fucking around. I can't tell. If they did, then the story goes that the German guy got all the files but they made it go completely public, right?

Everything in the leak should be preserved as it is. When there's room we can also encahnce the scenery. I will also try and follow this brilliant strategy on texture replacement!
don't forget about their responsibility of making Half-Life: Source and helping Garry Newman steal JBMod's source code for his own gain
You got that bit about HL:S wrong. They did a good job, the game was solid, then Valve got jealous and replaced new content with textures and models ported straight from Goldsource. At least they kept the water shader (and later stole it for the E3 demos).
Everything I ever learned about the leak was a lie.
This page is funny but I'm not looking forward to some bonehead from ModDB reading and taking this all seriously.
I don't know if this is some joke or not, but I thought Gabe said all the stuff from the leak had already been scrapped and that whether or not the leak happened, hl2 would've been the same?
the general rule of humor and sarcasm on the internet is that it can only be detected if there is either this emote :v: at the end of your post or usage of italic tags
I dunno, I have no problem detecting it? Well, usually. I still don't know when Marphy Black's "Informative" tags are sarcastic or sincere. As for the cut content already being cut long before the leak. That's more or less factual, yes. This is very evident by the fact that the playable leak maps are all related to the retail-like storyline (well, almost all of them, omit the devtest), it follows the same story structure and same (albeit unfinished) design down to architecture and weather. There were some very minor details, like Eli talking about Black Mesa, Kleiner getting killed/displaced by the teleport after Nova Prospekt, vortigaunts talking about Eli/Mossman, that kinda things. All of the 'original storyline' maps, the Airex, the ship, are dated back 2002 or earlier. We 'lost' things like bullsquids and the Hydra, the submarines at the coastline or the ability to drop weapons, but I really, really doubt that it had anything to do with the theft (although, according to Valve themselves, the team's morale had taken a hard blow that day, so who knows which decisions were affected and in what way). As for the older content, it couldn't had been possibly affected by the theft because of the linear and unidirectional nature of time. In short, it was cut because it didn't work at the time or in its intended form, became a burden of extra work or didn't fit the rest of the forming game. And MI didn't steal or leak anything, mainly because the team wouldn't even exist for another few years after the theft.
I don't know if this is some joke or not, but I thought Gabe said all the stuff from the leak had already been scrapped and that whether or not the leak happened, hl2 would've been the same?
Pretty much yeah There are some maps with very similar designs as retail hl2. Hell look at the E3 demo, a good chunk of that stuff made it into the retail game in some for or another Anybody who says that hl2 is different because of the leak is a moron
I don't know if this is some joke or not, but I thought Gabe said all the stuff from the leak had already been scrapped and that whether or not the leak happened, hl2 would've been the same?
I don't remember Gabe saying this, but this is pretty much correct. Anyone who examined the leak for more than a few minutes should be able to come to that conclusion.
How much you want to bet MI's gonna get slammed by idiots when it comes out because it's not one full story and/or HL3
All the money I've got forever and forever. Also fun fact. Axel Gembe didn't leak the source code at first. He was hacked (ironic) by a guy from myg0t (I forgot his name) and when he realized that he released the content (anon-hl2, wc-mappack and so on) and the code.
Didn't Axel trust myg0t with it kind of "showing off" to him what he had managed to get and then myg0t leaked it? thats the story I heard anyway. Its a shame Grigories forum isnt around any more.

Great job so far, man!
Nice gloomy atmosphere.

Hot damn, that almost looks good enough to be in the retail version
Wow, it could pass off as an official Valve model. [del]Why haven't you recreated gas mask citizen's head?[/del] You should make the joints black though (or make it the same texture as the tentacles), the whiteness right now stands out in a bad way imo.

Shows a lot of people are still interested in the cut content after all these years.
Shows a lot of people are still interested in the cut content after all these years.
Either that or everyone is starving for anything HL related.

Our first release will contain some new content which we will be ready to talk about soon.
The "HL2 Oldschool Story" - the most bestest leak recreation mod, got some news too! They promise us stable 30-60 fps. Wow!!! (Leader said that compressing sound saves 50mb of RAM). They also planning multiplayer! Also they're implying that SMOD dev gave them sourcecode. Also dev is implying that they got ready plot and other mods are dead shit. I forgot to mention that they have two versions of the mod: with normal sound and compressed one, so everyone can experience their creation. Latest gameplay: On a serious note leader acts really autistic, cheap and assholish.
