Half-life 2 Cut Content - Is it me or dose the cut content look better than what we got?

Yeah I'm thinking of it as an environmental hazard more than an npc, like stalker anomalies.

Perhaps something that was meant to be used to limit players movements in the wasteland chapters, what with the sea being more drained than in the retail coast levels?

If there were Wasteland sections that weren't on the coast, the particle storm may be an effective equivalent to the leeches.
Wouldn't it be cut for same reason as the Hydra: just some thing moving around and then the next second you're dead and not knowing what to do?
I'd like to see it recreated with modern particle FX

Dunno if anyone has discovered this already, but ihvtest.mdl is either an older version of barney or the metropolice model with barney's head. If you replace the goofy ihvtest materials with the old police textures, you get this:

ihvtest also has some early metropolice anims. The running one seems very similar to the conscript's running animation.
I always thought the ihvtest model was related to these textures that looked like a superhero. Unless is actually another model.

It is the superhero model, it just uses the same UV maps as an early metropolice/barney model.

Hey, I was told to ask around the leak thread for this but, does anyone know how to replicate the old vocoder effects for Combine Soldiers? I'm making some new voice lines, but I want to make sure I get them down good, so any help is much appreciated.
Unfortunately at this point I don't even think Valve knows how they did them anymore.

months ago i was [I]trying[/I] to remake the manhack arcade from scratch, but it didnt come out so well

Wow, that's actually a very good post you referenced there, Yourself. I've been looking for ways to replicate the different Combine Vocoder variations as well, but it hasn't been as urgent as Gsilver. I'll need to start experimenting with those two methods soon.
