I just realised I said 'the pyro one' and they're both pyro cosmetics. :pudge:
The dark lighting in the cutouts make them look like SCP-106, the first and last poses don't help at all.
Brightened 'em up. The power of photo editing!

P.S. I did my own (brightened) cutout.
Could be worse, at least it's pretty big :v:

I fixed your quote friend.
Yeah, are you counting the one that's missing parts of the presentation? The one that some praise to have raised the bar despite it lacking information

Was messing around with bloom recently, it's a massive eyesore and I hate it! Especially since it turns the citizens into silver men
I know this is sort of off topic but sincer there was a conversation on valve releasing beta files for the public and it wasn't that long ago, I would like to add that it would be nice to be able to get the texture files from the antlion worker from the EP2 beta trailers.

A while back i decided to try to recreate it myself and ended up with this texture which is basically two custom textures i found and merged into one.
tbh that looks better than the actual beta antlion worker
Ehhh

Not really.
And that's not my proudest antlion skin either, I also made a HL2 leak styled one I spent quite a bit of time on. (I said styled because it has a few differences from the actual one like the "teeth" not being brown and upper leg textures being simply recolors). Basically the reason why i didn't completely reskin it is because i wanted it to fit with the default normalmap and also some textures were too low-res such as the teeth.

It looks great, but, no offence, do you have to use the old brush Citadel? The E3 Citadel is probably a much better choice.

Shouldn't there be more of those green lighting? I hear old C17 maps are full of 'em

That model would be a better choice only if the UV's weren't completely scuzzed up. The texture does not align with the model correctly. It's probably fixable, but I haven't seen anybody attempt to realign the texture.

Might be cool to re-model, re-uv and texture it.

I have a fixed version :v:
I should probably release that along with the gasmask citizen which I totally forgot about over the weekend

***CITADEL MODEL DISCLAIMER***
The citadel model looks pretty bad from most angles except from the front. It is the same model from the leak with the uv map adjusted to better match the texture also provided in the leak. I did very minimal work to this model just to get the texture to line up correctly and it's still probably a bit off. The model was obviously intended to be viewed only from the front.
***CITADEL MODEL DISCLAIMER***
With that out of the way, here's the citadel:

How's it feel to be the first person to actually release a gasmask citizen model that isn't utter garbage?
How's it feel to be the first person to actually release a gasmask citizen model that isn't utter garbage?
Meh, indifferent. It's not even my model and I did nothing to contribute to its creation so it kinda feels wrong for me to release it, but Red Katana(original creator) is so far detached from the internet these days that he never would have released it. Also, I did have permission to release it in case anyone was wondering.
Now, we wait for someone to put in those cold, empty eyes and tighten the armband.
Since we now have a decent gasmask citizen model:

And since it's now 2016, he should be carrying one of them fancy IPads or whatever the hell the kids are all using these days.
Well I can't decide on this, so I'll see what the thread thinks:
Lowered road:

Or raised road (mockup):

Agree for lowered road, Zing for raised road

I think you got it mixed up but I know what you mean
BTW the lowered road (top one) was there originally, raised road was just a mockup

Speaking of the Citadel, which variation of the exterior do you guys prefer?
The 'Organic' Version - Vote 'Agree' if you prefer - [DATE UNKNOWN]

Image Two
Image Three
This version is only present in concept art, unless you count the early Manhack Arcade in the bottom left of the first art piece.
The 'Clamp' Version - Vote 'Zing' if you prefer - 2000-2001? When HL2 started on the Borealis (Hyperborea back then)

Image Two
Image Three
Interesting to note that this version was around when HL2 started on a boat. A few depot-like structures at it's base, there is another variation with minimal changes to this one.
The 'Poster' Version - Vote 'Disagree' if you prefer - Late 2001-early 2002 ish?

Image Three
This version of the Citadel is used in a few early maps, also present in a number of City 17 propaganda posters. The first version of the citadel with an interior designed.
The 'Tile' Version - Vote 'Artistic' if you prefer - 2002 ish

Image Three
Interesting to note that this was the last Citadel to be brush-based.
The 'E3' Version - Vote 'Winner' if you prefer - mid 2002 - early 2003 issssssssh?

This seemed to be a version that VALVe were happy with for a while before dropping the darker storyline and switching over to a European C17. Interestingly the first citadel model used in a map. This model is only used in one non-e3 map.
I HATE FORMATTING
Bloody hell, I like the Clamp, Tile and E3 versions

Your dates are a bit wrong.
The clamp version of citadel was at time they decided to do the game from scratch, september 2002. You can call it a predecessor of retail citadel.
Poster version was at January-February 2001
The "Tile version" was a replacement of "Poster version", so it was made at spring of 2001 and was replaced by E3 version model at spring of 2002

I was just making quick guesses, I don't have any of the leak files on my laptop
I've personally always favored the Organic version, as the concept art really does make it all look a thousand times more ominous and evil. But at the same time, I also like the Tile version simply because it was already created in Hammer. One update I could suggest for the Tile version though, is maybe having some of those pieces that look like they're already unconnected and floating slightly away from the Citadel actually spin around the Citadel.

It is a real shame there isn't a model (or even a brush) version of it
