[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/RWjTm8K.jpg[/thumb] Ignore everything that's terrible (light, lack of environment in general).
I love the look and the feel, much better than your other version.
Converted all old maps (those that are unreadable by the engine that "shipped" with the leak)
Just curious, did this fix by any chance allow you to play the .demo files that came with the leak? (presumably the exact .demo files that were recorded for the famous e3 demonstration)
I love the look and the feel, much better than your other version.
I'll keep working on it. Next up is the atmosphere. Technically it could be restored but the decided it wasn't worth our time.

Does someone still have a version from before the cancellation, or is it lost into the deep dark depths of time and space? Just curious really, thats all.
If you're up to it I think a Missing Information megathread would be pretty cool.

I was in Canada in March and where a couple of us met and looked at old maps and got drunk. Both of them still got it, including the source code. The fixes we've made are fairly easy to recreate except for the shared model loading.
If you're up to it I think a Missing Information megathread would be pretty cool.
That'd be really cool but I don't think I'd make it interesting enough. If someone else made it just fine by me. Be sure to drop me a link :)
I think this thread is enough to cover all leak/beta/rtb activities. This one barely stays alive as it is.
Holy shit Prozak's back, I gotta check this thread more often...
I just finished reading this thread properly, I admit first time was just a scan through. I decided I'd reply to a few old posts. Behold!
Well, you're in luck! I was browsing through random videos on YouTube when I discovered what I presume to be a Missing Information developer channel featuring exclusive and recent leaked videos detailing the current state of hit Source mod Missing Information! Take a look: And, strangely enough, this channel also features a leaked development video of the current state of the long-awaited Xen chapter from the hit Source mod Black Mesa: Source! Check it out:
Seriously what the fuck? This is the first time I'm seeing this. None of this has anything to do with Missing Information. We've seen Russians use our name before, but all those "remakes" and patches were kept to their Russian forums, and died pretty quickly anyway.
I'm very glad to see people still have interest in this and I'm handing out my stuff in hopes that someone will make a decent mod or mappack or SOMETHING with it. I crave content again. I want a lively beta community again. I want everything to be good again.
Could you write a list of content?
Hell, I remember that forum "Aperture Gaming" from years ago. After weeks of teaching myself how to program I managed to get the Houndeye, Bullsquid and the Female Assassin working in the 2007 Source engine. They were flawed but, since that cock waving contest was going on, it seemed like no one wanted to help me fix their issues (the Houndeye's shockwave not being visible and the Female Assassin doing no bullet damage and having derpy arms).
Sounds like someone never asked me. :P
Well ain't this a great reunion! The forum is almost completely dead, there are only a few posts on it every few months. [editline]let's get a little more on-topic now.[/editline] The thing with people losing interest in the old content is that once you've seen everything, that sense of discovery you would frequently get is gone. I'm slowly starting to lose interest in it as well even with Insolence in development.
Keep at it, yo! I like following your mod.
It was me who originally distributed the leak on FP, some of those dudes who went on form Team GabeN and Love Tub and fucking whatnot, they got it here, from me.
Who from GabeN did you hook up? Hook me up with Legacy. Actually don't. It's not interesting at all LOL
Hi ScarT!
Sounds like someone never asked me. :P
To be honest? I thought that I would be ignored or made fun of because of being associated with AGNMI. I think that I've reached a point mentally where I don't really care about the stuff that happened in the past before. I had thought that I had moved on away from the leak/beta content, but here I am, still talking about it years later. Besides, there are more important things in the world to worry about than Youtube accounts and jealousy. I would very much like to learn how to fix those problems that still exist with the coding of those NPCs, and would even be more interested in restoring some others as well; ultimately, I'd want to release the fixed source code so that it can save future potential mod makers some time in the future.
I think you need to assign some better fitting textures before you convert them to mdl.
Is this more suitable?
ooohhh, nice mix of past and present.
Is this more suitable? Try and follow this as a reference. The metal is sort of a dull-brown colour.
I wasn't going for the original (The original pretty much looked like the one in the last picture, according to the source and that one was terrible) so I tried to what Glaber said, a mix of past and present. Not a direct copy.

Not a direct copy.
Oh I see. In that case I'd change the texture bits that are sort of asymmetrical-lined combine metal. They're meant really for flat walls and at a larger scale so I'd swap them out for more of that blue-ish combine metal instead.

I found it either a few months ago or last year when I was lurking around somewhere. I'm uploading it to filesmelt as we speak. EDIT: Nevermind, I still have a link from where I got the patch, along with some other patches as well: http://www.mediafire.com/?p57i0fze76oxo#myfiles
Hi ScarT!
Hello old friend.
To be honest? I thought that I would be ignored or made fun of because of being associated with AGNMI. It was hilarious, yet sad a lot of people followed Lambda blindly. pawnstick never touched the YouTube account. The person that did handed it over to me at some point. We were got access to a couple of accounts and found some home addresses just in case we ever needed something like that.
Is this more suitable? Source is terrible with model and lighting, so right now I'd just keep this brush based unless you want to add more detail.
Nope, I still have it. This doesn't contain any new binaries at all, so this isn't the patch everybody is talking about.
Of course, and if I could I would certainly love to leave it brush based. But I'm at 8188 brushes. :(
Are you using a Valve map as a base? You could easily optimize the brushwork that comes from the leaked maps. We spend loads of time on that for some of our maps.
Could a mod edit the title for it to correct the spelling of "Does"
Could a mod edit the title for it to correct the spelling of "Does"
Wow, I didn't even notice the incorrect spelling until now.
Could a mod edit the title for it to correct the spelling of "Does"
Isn't the OP able to change it? I'm sure you could.
Is it just me, or should this really be in Missing Information instead of it's own mod?
Is it just me, or should this really be in Missing Information instead of it's own mod?
Not sure, really. It's a pretty looking mod and it makes for some nice background shots but the level design in places is terrible.
I wouldn't go as far as to say terrible, pretty confusing and little guiding direction for sure, but it's general atmosphere is perfect, and it has tons of potential.
I wouldn't go as far as to say terrible, pretty confusing and little guiding direction for sure, but it's general atmosphere is perfect, and it has tons of potential.
Potential doesn't translate over into being automatically good, though. :s
Not sure, really. Then I had to noclip out of the wasteland because I just could not figure it out. I feel dumb.
Oh dear. I kinda turned the func_precipitation into a performance-killing flash flood. Does anybody know the best splash particle to use for this?
