• Half-life 2 Cut Content - Is it me or dose the cut content look better than what we got?

Ah yeah my Jalopy, I might finish it one day but its just not high on my priorities any more. I would love it if I could of got a hold of the original model but that would probably never happen lol.
Your last screenshot makes it look like it's already finished. But I cannot judge the cover. Is it not drivable yet? P.S. Sorry if I seem impatient. I have looked back on that topic for years in hopes of seeing it get updated. That is how much I really want the Jalopy.
No where near finished still needed tons of detailing, however I could be persuaded to finish it if there is enough interest?

I would definitely be interested, I always love seeing cut content (or at least as close as it comes). Also, I was wondering if anyone had recreated another piece of work, the combine soldier that got cut from EP1. I think the enhanced combine on gmod steam workshop has that as an alternative skin along with all the other beta variations.

I know it will be worth the weight.
Hmm odd. I was just looking over the decompiled models I've got, they're batch decomiled (using a Perl script) so I watch the process. I just found /src/lighthouseturreta/ and /src/lighthouseturretb/. Upon investigation I found /models/props_wasteland/lighthouseturreta.mdl and /models/props_wasteland/lighthouseturretb.mdl. There are no thumbnails of these models and they're both in v29 format. How come nobody found these before?
They will probably be boring grey textured turrets I would be very surprised if they were significant unfortunately. We need another leak lol.
You know what I always wondered? That the guy who leaked the content of HL2 only took the content of ONE folder, of many that he saw. What hidden secrets remains in the dark at VALVe HQ? Who knows...

I guess I'm not going to spend that much time on it. It did make me add v32 support to my decompiler just now though. I'll see if I can find the old log from around that time (around 2008, so bare with me if its lost). Bonus info: At the time he had access to Valve's servers he was sporting a Geforce 2 (I don't remember the exact model) and that was bugging out with Source. He found the code that was causing it, and added the fix to Valve's code without them knowing so it would be fixed in the next build he grabbed. Well Half life 2 Survivor got ported to the pc with all its models n textures. With it some refined hl2 beta weapons. 1024x512 texture with a normal map at that same resolution for the sniper rifle. Which is silver not black. Screenshots here. I guess all the Half-Life beta stuff we are going to ever see is all out there now, only that alleged Geoff Knightley beta is probably the only thing out there now.. On a slightly different note, does anyone have any idea how to get the console working in Half-Life Day one?? any idea at all.

I know it was but there must be some way to force it back on? I have already figured out how to execute console commands without the console but I do need it fully operational for my purposes.
