Half-life 2 Cut Content - Is it me or dose the cut content look better than what we got?

Oh, it's the plane ride to Vertigo!
Ive come to notice something about the vertigo maps, the only use they serve is a general lay out. That's it.
Except for Palace, that one feels more finalized and feels like it can connect to the rest of the maps via the elevator shaft.
Something interesting I found today by accident.
We all know about the sky_station texture and how its bright and more retail. If anyones paid attention to it you will notice it has a light toxic background on the horizon not really seeable.
Well anyways I opened it up in paint.net and decided to fuck around with the color curves and I found this.

Did it to the sky 02 texture also, although didn't want to make a 360 image. So there should be more skies in the genepool for mods.

You know that this is the sky for the Ctiadel chapter, right? Look at the concepts in RtB (p. 180) and Citadel cubemaps in the leak (you'll see this sky and the composite city texture with glowing streets). So this is the sky for the last chapter, before it was changed to the orange sunset sky.

I wasn't even paying attention to the name, tbh. Just sharing some observations.
Looking at the cubemaps is fun, really. Feels like trying to look at something with a microscope. Tiny secrets, both literally and figuratively.

Uh, IDK really. To me borealis02 looks a bit more suitable for it.
A little off-topic here, but does anybody know if the old version of CS's "cx" sky can be acquired? It's listed on the Valve Developer Community.

How do I set up graphics options in the beta? I figured it should be somewhere in a cfg file, but I don't know which and what to change. Most important one is the textures. Mine are very blurry, and my friend who's a genius map fixer says no one has solved that problem :(

That's more of the fact that the Leak engine is a 50/50 split between Source and Gldsource. There are some patches out there for that, but I'd just wait for one of the Leak mod teams to finish their Source Mod.

Can you link me one of them? Google is not very good with such unpopular requests. I don't want to wait for leak mod teams because I actually fixed maps myself back in the days, but have been out of the Russian hl2 beta community stuff for many years. Decided to get back in because of nostalgia.

This happens if your graphics card got more than 1024 mb of VRAM. It's been fixed before. You can patch engine.dll and materialsystem.dll manually to fix it as well as fix it in the source code itself.
