Half-life 2 Cut Content - Is it me or dose the cut content look better than what we got?

They should have kept the S.L.A.M, or let us use those Combine tripmines.
The S.L.A.M. would need recoded though, it's way too clunky.
Yo guys!
I have possibly the largest archive of cut Half-Life 2 content ever.
It's about 70 or so GB (Probably more considering a lot of stuff is compressed into .rar files and such) and it's a very decent chunk of content that anyone ever found or made.
I'm telling you all this because I'm running an open archive of sorts, the HL2 Beta community has a terrible tendency of hoarding content. (Or at least my experiences back in this big dumb-ass Team GabeN and AGNMI "war". Don't ask, it was incredibly stupid and is why you don't see many GOOD beta mods)
I'd like to hand out as much of this stuff as I can to people who want it.
I got maps and models and all this great shit.
Seriously guys, if you want something, I'm your guy.
Add me on steam or PM me here, please for the love of god I want to give this stuff away!
Also if you want something, be very specific. Only ask if you know want you want.
Keep in mind I don't have EVERYTHING EVER though, some things just never existed outside of VALVe.
Seriously guys, come get some content from me!
I'm very glad to see people still have interest in this and I'm handing out my stuff in hopes that someone will make a decent mod or mappack or SOMETHING with it.
I crave content again.
I want a lively beta community again.
I want everything to be good again.
You are given a Gauss Gun in Half-Life 2, but only for a driving bit.
You were going to get it afterwards, but playtesters complained it was too clunky and noisy or something, so it was scrapped.
Also it was going to get supercharged in the weapon stripper instead of the gravity gun, but they decided the gravity gun was more iconic so they switched it, this also played a role into why it was only on the jeep/buggy/whateverthefuckitis.

As someone who loved the beta for a long time, I think it's about time we let it go.
I just don't see anyone doing anything decent with that old content. So much time has been spent over the years fixing and RE-fixing the same maps over and over... It's pitiful.
The worst part about this "community" that you and I miss is, at least to me, that no one seems to want to share what they make. Everything cool I've seen, from Deathmatch 2003 to Missing Information stays under lock and key. The fixed source code of the Houndeye, Combine Guard, the Hydra and every other npc and leak-related weapon is always kept away from the community who crave it.
And what happens most of the time? The data is "lost." Harddrives crash and suddenly everything is gone again; everything has to be remade for the billionth time. It's even more annoying when you remember that some things, like the Cremator, have to be remade from SCRATCH every time.
I have been hoping since 2007 (the time I first heard about the beta and, indeed, the Half-Life SERIES) for someone to make something to bring the beta content to life. To let those old ideas breathe and to give the fans of Half-Life something to do while we wait for Episode 3. Here we are in 2013 and, to my knowledge, we're no closer to having the experience that many have been waiting for all this time.
Katatonic, I'm someone who gave up on the beta and it's community. I hope that something "good" comes from the files you're sharing, but I hope you'll understand why I'm doubtful.
-Stuff-
I can relate to all of that.
The reason shit was kept from the public was because AGNMI, and Team GabeN were essentially having a cock waving contest where one side would go "LOOK WHAT WE HAVE THAT YOU DON'T!" and the other went "YEAH BUT WE GOT THIS!" Everyone who wasn't involved would see all this great shit and never get it. The whole thing started when one dumbass hacked the-guy-who-started-AGNMI's youtube account. The dude flipped the fuck out and now has this insane grudge against anyone who won't join his forum and is in the beta community. This man single-handedly destroyed any hope of getting ANYTHING good. This dude is one of the few people who I will say I legitimately hate. There is a lot of shit that went wrong with this guy, I'd rather not get into since It makes me pissed off just thinking about his stupid ass.
I have the stuff (I even made a couple things in there myself) for Deathmatch 2003, I was in the beta for since I was (very unfortunately) involved with AGNMI a while back. I regret being ever involved with that bunch of morons very much, but I got a fuck load of content from it.
Here have a video I recorded back during testing:

I have and still get everything that AGNMI have gotten and will ever get.
If you want any of this, I'll be more than happy to upload it.

Lol, look at the banner. I know all about the history of the forum.

My name is up there (Sven). I was there. I remember.
Hell, I remember that forum "Aperture Gaming" from years ago. After weeks of teaching myself how to program I managed to get the Houndeye, Bullsquid and the Female Assassin working in the 2007 Source engine. They were flawed but, since that cock waving contest was going on, it seemed like no one wanted to help me fix their issues (the Houndeye's shockwave not being visible and the Female Assassin doing no bullet damage and having derpy arms).
All I want is for SOME FUCKING VERSION of the early HL2 story to be remade. I don't care if it's that stupid one where Gordon jumps from planet to planet fighting Xen monsters. Just SOMETHING would be good since it's been 10 fucking years since the leak.

Holy SHIT! Sven!?
You were like the first guy I ever met in the beta community back at aperture gaming!
I used to be that akward idiot furry who made the dumbest posts ever. (oh god I'm glad I grew up and stopped being a furry and stuff).
So for anyone who wants it, here is Deathmatch 2003, an early version of CASTE and something called Co-op 2003:

Lol, hi there. Nice to be remembered.
It's nice to see someone familiar. And there's nothing wrong with being an awkward furry. As long as you're not an idiot I couldn't care less; the rest is none of my business.
Well ain't this a great reunion! The forum is almost completely dead, there are only a few posts on it every few months.
[editline]let's get a little more on-topic now.[/editline]
The thing with people losing interest in the old content is that once you've seen everything, that sense of discovery you would frequently get is gone. I'm slowly starting to lose interest in it as well even with Insolence in development.
Well ain't this a great reunion! The forum is almost completely dead, there are only a few posts on it every few months.
I actually forgot it existed for a while. College and whatnot.
I gotta say, I used to love the community back in its hayday. It really is a shame there's not much left of it to speak of, but I'm really glad the topic has been temporarily re approached here on fp. The whole community died down after the fall of Grigori's Forums and the ongoing battle between MI and AGNMI. I will say though that there is hope yet in the community for more new content. I know of a few projects that are very promising.

Wait, the guy who made into the VALVe servers and copied the files said that he only copied one of many folders that there was there. All that content went later leaked and, after some time, ending on two "versions", "Anon" and "Russian" (this has more content).
If both versions doesn´t reach the 3Gb uncompressed as it said frecuently, what are the stuff that it reach 70GB? (Even the WC pack doesn´t have much weight).
Is possible that inside there are unseen stuff?
what katatonic has is likely the dev files and such of AGNMI and the GabeN team. (alongside third party's recreations and such) which have both been leaked, released, leaked etc in cycles and fits, but are incredibly rare because pretty much everyone involved is either dead now, no longer has the files, or simply doesn't want to be involved anymore.
[editline]20th March 2013[/editline]
personally i'd like to see the back of the leak, since it simply doesn't work as a concept and valve themselves figured this out long ago. but of course it's up to others if they want to do shit with it themselves.

I don't remember either of you but i was around before Lambdacore got hacked by pawnstick(?) and they started dick waving; Anyway i have a lot of stuff archived from dead beta mods (yes mods made for the beta to be used in the beta) and dead leak mods for retail e.g. Lost Concepts, KaveJ - Beta Deathmatch, AirEx by Lambadacore and some other stuff i didn't organize.
also was at lovetub, apture gaming, old times, russian community i forget and so on but i never got into ANGMI since me and lambdacore didn't get on after that hacking (apparently neutrality in a dick waving contest makes me on the other side...)

What I uploaded are the versions we all had.
I don't think they have ever been publicly shared.

I have all kinds of stuff, old mods (probably broken now), many different models, some nice fixed up maps.
I'm thinking of making a replacement pack for HL2 and cherry pick my archives of the best of the best and the coolest of the cool stuff I got.
What do you guys think? Would you all be interested in a bigass replacer pack that most likely has some things you've never seen before?
Holy shit, I never knew there was such an epic backstory to all the HL2 beta business.
Katatonic, I'd love to see a "best of the best."

Ha, Lost Concepts. I was a part of that "team." Back then I couldn't do much besides BASIC model stuff and BASIC texturing. As lame as that "mod" was, I made some good friends because of it, a few of which I still talk to regularly, so I can thank it for that.

One of these days I should just write up a book of all the crazy shit that went down.
There are even some unrelated goings on, one of note is when this guy named Hogsy (Also went by Leo and Haruhi) was working on this mod called "Old Times", he stole all of the credit and claimed everything was his. He outright refused to give anybody credit. That guy was kicked the fuck out of the community completely in the blink of an eye.
So I guess I'm going to make that pack of awesome shit after all. Don't know when I'll do it, but most likely sometime this week or next.

I know hogsy and he did a lot of the work on that mod himself, I can only recall one other mapper helping him and that was it. I don't trust anything the leak community says about hogsy because when you resort to calling someone fagsy to justify everything that's when something is up and the community loses all credibility but maybe i'm just blindly defending him, Iunno but i do recall lambdacore throwing all his rage at him for no reason.

hogsy is, although we don't talk much, one of the few real "friends" I have online.
And DigitalySane you might not remember me but I remember you. Always very knowledgeable and, from my experience, kind and patient. That's just my own experience though.
Awh :3 thank you assuming you mean me :v: .
Still sorry I don't remember you, I wiped my shoes with the leak community as soon as AGNMI poped up it really was just a downward spiral from there but Conscript gives me hope that it can redeem itself; better to use the universe that the leak gives you than to recreate the story line within that universe that valve had created, It was always a patchwork story not enough details available to fill in the gaps but enough for it to be a usable universe again.

From my perspective that rage was justified. Banshee, Doomlord, Dhel, Ghost, and Armored Scout were all working on the project.
The only credit they EVER got was a page that was up on the Old Times forums homepage for maybe about a week or so before it was removed with no explanation.
The page in question:
[t]http://i617.photobucket.com/albums/tt256/Doomlord1992/OldTimesHomepageXD.jpg[/t]
Hogsy then began to claim most of the content as his own when all he did (According to everyone I've ever spoken with about it) all he did was some minor code stuff and nothing else.
Also Hogsy was kind of a dick to me for no reason even when I gave him the benefit of the doubt and a second and third chance SOOOOO there's also that too, but that's completely unrelated. I don't hate Hogsy or anything, I just kinda wish he'd act a bit better.
He's hardly gonna act nice if the leak community singled him out to be fair but he is a nice guy.
He's hardly gonna act nice if the leak community singled him out to be fair but he is a nice guy.
True, I think he did some other things as well but from what I gather the out right refusal to credit people was the final nail in the coffin for him I think.
Does anybody remember a dude named Kave?
I was making some cool shit but the he suddenly dropped off of the face of the earth around three years ago.
Did he die?

Also ever asked any of those people that participated? Dhel is one of hogsys best friends so i doubt he cares, never heard scout give a single shit and doomlord has never ushered a word about it to me that and he doesn't hold grudges and tends to stay neutral.
[editline]20th March 2013[/editline]
If its the ghost I'm thinking of he sorta went with AGNMI then regretted it so yeah I can believe him getting mad at him briefly but he was like 11 assuming its the right person so I doubt he really contributed anything, He did some mapping iirc (and not good at that). All I can remember about banshee is he was a whiny little bitch, again if I'm thinking of the right person.

Yeah I remember KaveJ, I've still got his hl2betadm mod and his terrorstrike project but I doubt he'd want me to release them.
Anyway I dunno what happened to him, he was Russian if I remember correctly so I would assume he got into another project with the russian leak community.
Hey guys!
I found a bunch of links to two great versions of the leak for those who don't have it or only have the shitty ass anon version.
These two and a couple others were combined to form my super crazy good leak that I'll release one day.
They're both in a shit load of parts.
Enjoy:

It's a taboo in video games, not some law.

The AR2 is a bizarre thing really, I don't understand why Valve left the OICW reloading animations on it for NPCs because it's clearly self-reloading.
Manhacks Dynamic all they did was ran into things, Unless you mean the surfaces?
