Use the version of hammer that came with the leak, it should be in your main bin folder.

But if you want to create/edit maps exclusively for the beta, try using the woldcraft in the bin folder of the beta.

I've made some progress restoring the brush car thing. I'm not very good at texture design, so the front and top are still using the placeholder metal. The overall shape of the car is much cleaner now, and might actually be somewhat presentable from some angles. My copy of the leak has fully a functioning hydra with working sound effects, to be honest it's only good for making the player run through or stay out of an area you don't want explored. Fighting it isn't really a fight at all, because it doesn't do anything but stab at shit that comes near it's area, but when you're sprinting through it's area to escape while it's stabbing at shit, the encounter becomes a lot more interesting.

It has practically been ages and only now do I find this older physcannon texture [IMG]http://media.moddb.com/images/members/1/573/572035/physcannon_temp.png[/IMG] Which doesn't seem to be connected to any of the concept arts (and is, well, basically for the existing model's concept, apart from some things). Kinda more steampunk-y though. *insert "late"* About cars btw, is it just me or does someone else get this feeling like all the cars in the WC mappack era were like 50's cars? Not just that car on the textures, but most of them, it's like the Combine has invaded Earth in 1960s, 70s top, not early to mid 2000-s.

Probably because they were the easiest to make with brushes, and generally recognizeable as American cars. That 50's car is going to be a pain to smooth out properly, but based off the texture and the images I'm working off, it looks like the trunk and engine were supposed to be opened up. Also, since I haven't found many nice "junked" 50's car props. It's been 10 years since the leak, and there's still so much stuff that's been untouched. Might as well fix it up and release it somewhere. Also, if anyone knows of any other half-completed-ish brush things from the leak, tell me about 'em and I'll do what I can to clean them up a bit.

I am about to start, at least, planning the HL2 Concept Train ride. But I got some problems. 1) I need the Leak Razor train brush model. 2) How long it should be the ride? 3) Since there is no HL2 Beta Gargantua model, Shall use Half-Life Source gargantua? 4) How it should look the ride?
1) The Razor Train is in several maps like industrial. 2) Create a basic train ride and see how much work it is. Go from there. Source will easily tell you how long you should make it. 3) I'd go with the HL:S one at first but check out the BMS on for scale. 4) Read RTB and try to create whatever shows up in your head when you read it
I dont remember for sure but I think the more detailed Razor train compartment brushes are in the depot maps
My hammer (Steam Pipe) keeps crashing when I try to load the vmf's of the WC Map pack (All vmf's). Do I need a special configuration? That level looks nice Killer! I don't actually know where it's from in the beta, but anything beta here is cool to me. And that level pleases me a lot for some reason. I don't know why. And MAN! It's been a long time since I've visited this thread! I had at least 8 pages to look through (that may not sound like a lot, but it really is)! Everything I've seen is pretty interesting, and since I don't ever want to do a huge review like that again, I'm going to do my best to just stay on track. One thing I'm still kinda upset about though is that... Ugh, I've mentioned it so many times in the past that I don't want to mention it AGAIN. It's EP2 cut content anyways, not HL2 cut content, so I could see why people wouldn't care about it.
