It could be even a decent model itself if you decide to use Propper with it.
Got the back door working [vid]http://zippy.gfycat.com/AridIncomparableJuliabutterfly.webm[/vid]
I made an interior for one of those once, though it was seperate from the APC itself and accessed via teleport. I also still really disagree with how everyone calls it a VAB. It's just a generic APC design.
The APC is especially seen in Counter-Strike, mind y'all. Inb4 cs_militia
Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t8vrf3heswzrlit/apc_fixed.zip I'm going to release it in it's current state, because I think of anything else to add. There are 2 things that I wish I could've done, but I have no idea how to do it: - a good interior design - have the side doors work in any sense FINAL VERSION SCREENSHOTS: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/gFFPyIs.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/XtRSzdK.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/QYWDkK7.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/ucPTeIF.jpg[/img_thumb] INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: extract the .rar file to 'custom' folder of your favorite source game (preferably hl2)
I'd guess that the side doors are meant to swing open in two parts, sort of like those on a BTR-80.
The APC is especially seen in Counter-Strike, mind y'all. Inb4 cs_militia
I'm not fully sure what you're talking about, but the HL2 Beta APC and the CS:S APC aren't the same. They look nothing like eachother besides the fact they're four wheeled and green. The CS:S model of an italian Puma 4x4 AFV.

Jackie, boyo... Where's the steering wheel?
You should use this model. It's exterior is more detailed than the one you used. I know it's in one of crazeeweegeman4's model packs. Also add seats and a steering wheel so someone can make it into a vehicle.

Also replacing those tyres again with the other APC ones.
That model would look great with a decent normal map + phong settings. Also replacing those tyres again with the other APC ones.
I would suggest to keep those tires since they are original, and higher quality.
I would suggest to keep those tires since they are original, and higher quality.
Considering the fact that I am not a (good) modeler, creating an interior for the model version would be borderline impossible, for me anyways. It is high quality, though. If you wanted it to be driveable in, say, gmod, you would probably have to somehow remove the tires anyways, to allow separate models to be used as the tires. (doesnt mean you cant use the same tires, though)
Has anyone worked on a concept based consul model?
Someone made this but I don't recall who or where it was released.

I am reminded of a model of the Consul which existed on garrysmod.org, but it got removed and I found it sucky because it lacked the blinking. Fun thing is; I tried the skin on a hexed version of Breen, and it looked just alright...even if he almost reminded me of Star Trek, yes.
Anyone tried applying the detailed textures to the Sand Barnacle before?
Is there a decompiler for v35 models or a converter that, well, converts them to v37?
Is there a decompiler for v35 models or a converter that, well, converts them to v37?
I've got nearly every v36 and earlier model decompiled. I plan to release the source files at some point soonish. That way you could compile them into whatever version you'd like. EDIT: Got what I have uploaded. There are still quite a few I need to decompile, but these should be useful to anyone who is interested.
Wait what? How?
decompilers exist, not as common as the HLMV version though. I've ran into 2 old model format decompilers, one that spit out the .qc in the worst way possible, there was like, no spacing at all and another one that did the trick, worked just like the on the in the HLMV edit.

I had no idea people had made decompilers for older mdl versions AND released them.

I don't mind a mess of sifting through smd's if it means I might be able to get some specific anims salvaged. It's fantastic for the older ones, but it often goofs up some v37's EDIT: I've had this decompiler for long enough and released nearly everything there is to release. Enjoy a download. Make sure the model files you plan to decompile are in the same directory as the executable. Happy porting!

Unfortunately no decompiler is perfect and they usually leave out some model information. Scart's decompiler/converter is still the best there is because instead of breaking the model down, it just converts it into a readable format for the retail source engine and it works with v35-37 if I remember correctly. Still, this is really awesome, thanks again.

The SMD's are useable for the leak and retail, that's how I recompiled them for some of my gmod packs. It even preserves most if not all of the animations. Also I haven't had many issues of missing data in this one. I just cycle through all of my random decompilers I've accumulated if I come across something that doesn't work.
