• Half-life 2 Cut Content - Is it me or dose the cut content look better than what we got?

Well if that's how it's supposed to be, fair enough. Though it just looks like it was modelled with the intention of having the jacket's seam on that side.
One thing I've noticed is that it looks like you may have the jacket texture flipped horizontally, there's a cut in the bottom of the jacket on the model that looks like it's supposed to line up with the seam running down the texture. Are you using a modified male_05 head, or is that Samuel's original head?
The seam doesn't line up, the model itself is ass. I suppose I should have welded the verts in 3ds Max so that the torso is a flat piece.

It would be cool to see fully fixed versions of these two.

What about that older version of Kleiner's lab from 2002? I recall dm_steamlab is a nod to it and find that the underground trip seems rather cozy.
New media release as promised.
Background maps? What are those?
Background maps? What are those?
Exactly what the name is, background maps for the main menu.

Kinda looks like Kim Jong-Un.
Kinda looks like Kim Jong-Un.
Maybe that's why Samuel got cut. There's no cheese in the HL2 time period so he died of starvation.
Samuel is actually very subtly referenced in the beginning of HL2, a woman stating a train was stopped in the woods and took her husband for questioning...
Samuel is actually very subtly referenced in the beginning of HL2, a woman stating a train was stopped in the woods and took her husband for questioning...
I don't see a connection here. Furthermore, what's the point of referencing a character who wasn't even actually written, really? Even Samuel in Dishonored is more of a "reference" here than what you're saying. Both are the first ally we meet, both connected to player transportaion, both are Samuels and both these games had Viktor Antonov as their main designer!

People try to fit the Beta in Retail where it can fit, and sometime what they come up with is pretty interesting. Then again, I talk to DaveBrown, the owner of the Canon-slaughterhouse, so I don't know how much credibility any of that has.

In other words, whatever in the beta that doesn't conflict with the main canon has a possibility to be in. By the way, how successful do you guys think HL2 turn out if it stuck to the old story and elements? What if it was the really early one about Gordon travelling to planets and kill more Xen aliens there?

Purely random, just went to Dachau concentration camp for the second time, just thought this was somewhat interesting. The gate (probably the same phrase used on most camps) http://www.washington.edu/alumni/columns/sept99/images/dachaugate.jpg Arbeit used as a name on crates in on the boraelis. The protestant church at the back http://www.scrapbookpages.com/DachauScrapbook/DachauPhotos/Camp/Churches/CS010.jpg http://haygenealogy.com/nagy/sources/dachau/dachau9.jpg Combine architecture anyone? The information on this place says it was intentionally designed to contrast the Nazi's desire from uniform orderly design. It's already quite obvious that HL2 took heavy inspiration from the holocaust with the nova prospekt etc, just thought it was kinda cool that the Valve probably visited some of these places while researching in Europe.
I 3D printed the leak APC. Right out of the printer with supports. [t]http://i.imgur.com/irOAB4R.jpg[/t] Completed print. [t]http://i.imgur.com/B6R0nE3.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/HwL1960.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/qLL7aD2.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/98kMFMM.jpg[/t] Quality isn't perfect, but I could always sand it down to make it smoother. I still need to pull off a few of the extra plasticy bits. The fact that it is possible to do this is pretty cool by itself.
Old concept stuff from MI that I don't think was ever posted.

Messing around in the playable leak, found something funny: (wait for it) map: d3_c17_06a (the screen cutting out at the end is the game promptly crashing after that)
I remember finding that when I first tried the beta in 2010, it was funny. Remove the s in the video tags
Don't know if anyone's ever noticed or cared, but the leak/e3 muzzleflash code and textures were way different than retail. I restored the look and feel of them in retail (including adding smoke): [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/30722514099549363/81C2CAA3D084118C6F3BC10067547F72EC7942F5/[/thumb] [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/30722514099547911/FF2678799B6CABE617C2AE8152E72A05834DCB11/[/thumb] This applies for the player muzzleflashes too.
Well... I just discovered the... supposed Valve way of entering the Borealis (through the flooded tunnel with the hanging soldier ragdoll) is, infact, impossible. That tunnel goes through the engine rooms. Im actually curious to know if MI bumped into this problem.
For those of us who have no idea what you're talking about, what are you talking about?
Im talking about this tunnel http://combineoverwiki.net/wiki/File:Borealis_s02.jpg It cannot exist within the ship, because it goes through the engine rooms.
