I don't think it was extremely hard even though I died quite a bit, you just have to be patient during that level and remember to count every bullet you have so you don't fuck up certain parts.
Before you hit the boss the first time makes sure to [sp]punch the skeleton by the mirror and in the highest room to death, then shoot the hammer guy on the right twice from above before finishing him with the scythe when he goes up the stairs[/sp] Just seems to be the most efficient start.
I'm a bit disappointed by the enemy variety, you get a couple cool enemies that requires you to mix up your strategy halfway through the game but after that it's just melee/ranged enemies that are faster or have more health

I'm almost grateful that phylacteries and the resurrecting dudes just disappear after like 2 missions, but yeah they really mixed things up. That one level with the time limit was intense too, forced me to rethink my playstyle
that level in question is the bane of my exsistence. i like to think i've pretty much mastered every case except for that one. i'm trying to get the "beat the game under an hour" achievement right now and it takes me about 20 minutes to run through that level alone. i need to really master it. somehow i managed to get five stars on it my first run through, but i guess since it's set to such a short window of time you pretty much have no choice but to blitz through it as fast as possible
i'm also trying to do my speedrun with just the 32 revolver and a hammer (since let's face it, hammer is the best weapon in the game) while only using the suppressed shotgun on the vampire boss mission since i have a pretty good strategy utilizing it
Is that "beat the game in under an hour" one continuous play through or all the levels' times total?
To anyone having trouble with the time limit mission, aside from rushing it skillfully, you can actually play it carefully by hiding inside a vent and wait for the timer to countdown. After the timer is done you can get out and proceed through the level without the pressure of the time limit.

One continuous play through.
Jumping in to say I, too, play this game. It's a nice mix of few other games and has a couple of tricky missions. Right now I'm at the last mission, at least I assume so based on achievements and the nature of the level. It's funny that when I'm stuck on a level I take a break and then on return I do in few tries.
Still, the hardest level is the one that is timed. I have to say I cheesed that one.
Got the game and it's really good and satisfying, but goddamn that one timed mission with totems is being a massive pain in the ass.
I managed to get 5 stars, the silenced shotgun is pretty based.
