getshrektm8, gone, but never forgotten. Our friendship will live on through eternity.
He sacrificed his lift to help me eat an enemy, and I got super big, but then got cornered by two titan motherfuckers. I went out in a blaze of glory by feeding viruses into them, but I accidentally myself (the virus hit me for some reason even though I was behind it!)
I can't fucking believe how popular this game is. There is over 50000 people playing....
add like a 2 dollar donation to get an icon next to your name and this guy would be loaded

Flavor of the month

Nah. That's what people said about Angry Birds, too. Now it's one of the most played games on the planet. The simple mechanic and very slight learning curve will probably provide it with it massive staying power.
I think of it as a win when - even though I end up dying - I manage to pop a few viruses into big assholes before kicking the bucket.

Best mass is around 170, you can get a virus off and still have enough mass to swoop in and eat the other dude's tiny balls

Angry Birds is a skill based game with high-scores though. You can perfect it and brag, and you can play it on your own.
Agar.io is in it's current state is a multiplayer only game with too few mechanics to keep people interested for months to come. It has potential, but it needs more if it wants to become something big.
Personally I'm happy to finally play Osmos in multiplayer, but I can't see myself playing this a month or two from now. It's already getting to the point where there is nothing new to experience, and the gameplay loop is more frustrating than fun because the very early game is just tedious, and when you're starting to get big you're so easily eaten by people way bigger than you that you can't see. It's only when you get to medium-size and up that it starts getting interesting, and you've amassed value that makes you value your life, you actually care if you get eaten.
this game is still a one man band in terms of updates yes?
Is he making any income off of this?

I see myself playing it that long. Especially if a simple 'king of the hill' mode is added, making the map reset if the number one guy stays there for a certain amount of time. There are far more things than that can be added, too, and that's why I don't see it coming to a close any time soon. Plus, it's free, and easy to lose an hour or two on.
He should defo add the ability to team up on the fly. It'd open up a whole new level of politics. Easy to backstab people, but also great for forming lasting alliances that'll help you all reach #1.
He'd have to make it so you can still intentionally allow yourself to be eaten by a teammate, since the tactic of splitting, eating an enemy, and then letting a teammate eat your smallest blob is very viable.
And I'd argue that it requires as much skill as angry birds. Which isn't much. (broke automerge)
I made it to 8th place on Russia as Ukraine. I feel accomplished
good

Got 13333 score and rank 1 on a europe server for about 5 minutes as "Yandere"
getting big is hard, staying big is harder
Fuck, how long have you been playing as Yandere? I was "y u do dis?? :c" and "getshrektm9 <3" and you were so bipolar. One minute, you'd spit food at me to help me grow, the next, you'd be splitting to eat me. It was so confusing.

I think you fed me when you saw me trying to shoot off viruses. I've noticed a lot of players respect that you're trying to take down the big guys, cause I got spat at a lot after I'd shot a virus off.
at a point i couldnt see the names anymore, people i recognized was "Tsundere" and "GOD"

Sorry if I ate you, I tried to be friendly with the smaller guys
"Teamwork" completely defeats the purpose of the game.

Only if it is coordinated through third-party means.
Silent & mutual agreements
It's great when you're playing as a certain country and other neighboring countries (Sweden/Finland/Norway, Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania) start working together with you

Silent gentleman's agreements are fine. But when you have a name like, "Helping "Nick"" or something.. I mean, why even play if you're not trying to achieve first place for yourself? Isn't that the goal? It happened to me a few days ago. All the users were "Sailor _____" from sailor moon or whatever, and whenever one of them was in need, the other let them consume him. They filled the entire leaderboard and made it not even worth playing. This last game I played just a few minutes ago, there was a blob named "Helping #1", and he just hovered around me feeding me his excess.. I wanted to tell him to scram, but I couldn't He wasn't big enough to pop, and I was so big that I didn't have aiming splits anymore, so I couldn't even eat him. I got there myself, why do people do that? Do they lack the ambition to achieve success individually? Rising from nothing to greatness, etc. Even if you get there by fluke, you will know that whatever you did led you there. If someone else builds you steps and you land on them every time you fall down, but also carry you two higher, why even bother trying to climb them.. Just let them do all the work.
TL;DR: You start as an solitary blob, you remain a solitary blob. Allies are fine, but straight up helpers are bullshit. Especially when they're all named alike, being engulfed into whichever other is larger just so the guy who is actually trying can never reach the top.
It's a part of the game, that's just how it is.
You're taking this game way too seriously.

flappy bird was flavor of the month
this is popular but not that popular
It's great when you're playing as a certain country and other neighboring countries (Sweden/Finland/Norway, Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania) start working together with you
I do this constantly.
Sweden and Norway? Feed them if I can, save them if needed, sacrifice myself for the greater good.
Finland, Poland and United Kingdom? No worries bro I'll leave you alone, maybe feed you a little if you need.
Germany? Don't worry I won't screw you over unless you get too much power, then it's World War 3.
Silent agreements > Some form of scripted "team" feature. Feels so much more satisfying as well.
I see he made it so that you can't macro spam W faster than you can actually press W now. :/
Flavor of the month
As long as its not blocked by local schools, its going to be flavor of the month every year
