can anybody confirm this?
when people slightly larger forces you up against a larger blob to try to eat you and he ends up eating you both

Jesus this game is so fun.
First Moon and "Country name I can't remember" teamed up in order to destroy me, which they failed at and in the process I managed to destroy Moon.
Then I devoted myself in destroying the "Country name I can't remember" and to complete that, I teamed up, first with Changan-Khan? ( I am really bad with names ) and later we also accepted Finland into our team, thus we pretty much, the Top 3 went on a helping rampage till obviously we made mistakes, Finland got eaten in order to help us trough the mine field, then Changan-Khan ate me to kill the Number 1 that was accidentaly made and I decided to end it there.
Hella fun.
How do you get an illustration or whatever

Use the right nickname
the other fp ate u?
:o
Nah, got eaten by someone else.

Seems I was half wrong. It appears slower now but not totally nerfed. Macro seems to still be faster than spamming W.
Silent gentleman's agreements are fine. But when you have a name like, "Helping "Nick"" or something.. I mean, why even play if you're not trying to achieve first place for yourself? Isn't that the goal? It happened to me a few days ago. All the users were "Sailor _____" from sailor moon or whatever, and whenever one of them was in need, the other let them consume him. They filled the entire leaderboard and made it not even worth playing. This last game I played just a few minutes ago, there was a blob named "Helping #1", and he just hovered around me feeding me his excess.. I wanted to tell him to scram, but I couldn't He wasn't big enough to pop, and I was so big that I didn't have aiming splits anymore, so I couldn't even eat him. I got there myself, why do people do that? Do they lack the ambition to achieve success individually? Rising from nothing to greatness, etc. Even if you get there by fluke, you will know that whatever you did led you there. If someone else builds you steps and you land on them every time you fall down, but also carry you two higher, why even bother trying to climb them.. Just let them do all the work.
TL;DR: You start as an solitary blob, you remain a solitary blob. Allies are fine, but straight up helpers are bullshit. Especially when they're all named alike, being engulfed into whichever other is larger just so the guy who is actually trying can never reach the top.
you're so fucking obnoxious, why do you take this game so seriously? lmfao rise to the top, achieve greatness, it's a java game about big blobs eating little blobs, dude. take your head out of your ass

It's HTML5, not Java.
Also, yes. I do realize I'm now even more obnoxious than the post you were replying to. Sorry about that.

I don't understand the complaint here.
It just sounds like you hate the fact that people can work as a team to achieve things easier in general and isn't specific to agar.io

Personally I agree that it's kind of lame when you see the top 10 filled with a single clan tag but honestly I suspect that they're unlikely to be coordinated on teamspeak or anything. Since it dumps you in servers randomly it's more likely that others are just noticing how easy the clan has it and are grabbing the tag to help themselves.
Its fun when you make friends with random people, a small italy followed me as ukraine on the russian server, and if i couldnt protect him he would come back and find me. Good going till a giant meme ate us.
you can keep swapping servers till you have the same leaderboard as teammates. so I don't see using teamspeak too far out of the question
Or alternatively, they're doing what we're doing and they're all from the same University class in Hong Kong or something.
By the way, that HKG clan is also on the Oceania servers, so on the worst of days, it's my entire uni class versus our rival uni versus our common rival uni versus the fucking Queensland University of Technology in Australia versus HKG.
All at once.
Having tried to play on the same server with 2 other friends a week ago or so (sitting on Mumble), it's a real fucking bitch to find the same server unless you're lucky to get a new one pop up as you're refreshing.
I refreshed the server 60+ times without finding the lobby, and then we tried a different server and same shit over and over again until a fresh lobby popped up.
It's fully possible that people are working together in bigger numbers and through voice chat, but so what? That becomes a common enemy for everyone, an ultimate goal to overcome.
I'm pretty sure there is a userscript you can install to garuntee you get into the same server.

Well, that makes things a lot easier.
I have wasted so much productive time at work in this game.
It doesn't feel like im playing video games at work because it's a stupid browser thing, but I've sank like 6 hours of time in the last week in this thing.

I love how some animalistic mentalities come up.
Big guy shows up, everybody scatters, like how humans scare off birds. Players gather near "fields" of dots to grow like some herbivores, and bigger players exploit this when they can like hunters. Smart players may corner their prey by blocking off their escape routes or leading them where they want them, like near the bounds or bigger players. Big guys just chill around and eat all they can, not worrying about much, like some giant animals.
Oh, and players of similar size leave each other be, and hunters may tire of chasing.

Also small guys hanging around big guys for protection but also ready to attack if the situation arises

This is what I was talking about. It ruins it for everyone. If that's the first thing to see when you start up the game, you're going to think it's shitty. Whereas, if it weren't the case, you could have more fun, playing relatively fairly.

agar.io is secretly prairie simulator 2015
There's so many servers. I try and play with my housemate so he tells me who is in top 1 and top 2 then I use the arrow keys to toggle between Russian servers and European servers. Took me 30 min when there were 20k people playing, and the thing is you hardly get put on the same servers.
The game is as fun as it is infuriating. But the mechanics are so simple its like Tetris in terms of good design.

Wish this didnt exist
I've dominated the leaderboard twice, as ISIS and Italy
It's very fun

First time getting top of the leaderboard. It was crazy. Even at that level of split, I still outclassed 80% of everyone else in terms of size. I was number 1 by a longshot.
And then I made the arrogant mistake of wading into a minefield of viruses to try and outplay the 2nd on the board. I shot viruses into him, he shot them into me, chaos ensued, lots of casualties, I came out on top by just barely. And then I slowly lost my place when I was still trapped in the minefield and all the greedy bastard shot viruses at me.

Yes, it's horrible that people can play together and have fun. Multiplayer games should only be enjoyed solo.

I liked the anonymity and hostility of the game. DayZ-style fun.
Now teams dominate everything. Last time I played I was teamed up with 2 guys, we had places 1 to 3. We had the server for a good hour, maybe more, and no one could come close. In fact being in a team allowed to exploit stuff. When you split, feed mass to your friend, then get it back you basically evade the whole "splitting cooldown" mechanics, allowing you to eat anything much faster and also not taking any risks since if you get split and eaten you can still get all the mass back.
Playing in a team was fun as fuck. But unfair to other players. I would be a huge blob, a smaller guy near me would split for the smallest players, feed half to me, receive his mass back, repeat.
And that while only communicating throught mass drops. We had one weakness - if someone died it was hard to find friends again. So eventually we were defeated when our biggest guy accidentally ate us both and got bursted with a virus and eaten before we could find him.
With mumble or teamspeak its not a problem, you can always stay in touch.
It would be fun to have some TDM mode, but team vs loners is really unfair. And exploitive. The game just wasnt meant to be played this way.
