DayZ style? You mean the game where people literally gang up, create bases and cults and go around fucking people over? That's the exact same thing.
The game is meant to be played the way it can be played, you're talking about the way you want to play, entirely different.
Loners can gang up on teams as long as they play smart, and loners can become new groups because there is a common enemy that needs to be taken down. That's how the game works.

It would be fun to have some TDM mode, but team vs loners is really unfair. And exploitive. The game just wasnt meant to be played this way.
Thank you. I completely agree. Teams vs. Teams is fine. But without specified servers, etc. It's going to stay the way it is, I guess.

You don't understand.
The mechanics of splitting is supposed to be a risk/reward thing. You get more vunerable, but you grow.
In a team you have no risk, just the reward.
This is literally how the game isn't meant to be played, not in some subjective way. Outright cheating.
It could be fixed with some modification, but I expect it to be really hard to balance.

First time getting top of the leaderboard. It was crazy. Even at that level of split, I still outclassed 80% of everyone else in terms of size. I was number 1 by a longshot.
And then I made the arrogant mistake of wading into a minefield of viruses to try and outplay the 2nd on the board. I shot viruses into him, he shot them into me, chaos ensued, lots of casualties, I came out on top by just barely. And then I slowly lost my place when I was still trapped in the minefield and all the greedy bastard shot viruses at me.
If you're at max split you can eat the viruses and grow in size.

"Literally how the game is meant to be played" According to whom? You? You.
How is it cheating when you can do that to anyone? If they are kind enough they return the favour and you become a team. That's part of the game. You are able to split yourself and give away mass not just because there are spikes and smaller blobs, but so that you can interact with others.
You're trying to impose your own way of playing onto others by trying to claim that your way of playing is the way it's meant to be played.
Yes, it's horrible that people can play together and have fun. Multiplayer games should only be enjoyed solo.
If that was the plan then chat and teams would of been implemented.
If that was the plan then chat and teams would of been implemented.
You don't need a chat for randoms, that's just a lot of bitching and whining, you can express yourself in the game effectively as is. Teamspeak/Mumble/etc exists for anyone else.
You don't need a team function to have teams.

Didn't you say you were going to leave this game?
Hurry up and do that.
Muffin, you really ought to take that stick out of your arse. Throwing a bitch fit because people play this simple game however the fuck they wanna play it, and not your way.
I love it the way it is. Makes it even more gratifying when you completely wreck those assholes who work together.
Wish this didnt exist
It wouldn't change a thing if it didn't exist.
Today I teamed up with someone I had never met before by expelling some of my mass into him, he responded by giving me some of his mass, we then followed each other around trapping others.
My point is there will always be people teaming up as long as there is some form of communication in the game.
The expel mass could change though, maybe if you expel too much you split, adding back in that risk.
There's a problem that happens in Social Games. It's where a popular streamer will come in, and eventually get followers/subscribers/cult of personality to help him achieve big time, and I feel that it kind of ruins the spirit of Agar.io.
Yeah?
I love the moments where you are chasing or being chased by someone, and then you run into something much bigger than either of you and you both cheese it

I already described above how teaming up on the fly is not as OP as voice communication. But still is exploitous.

Was about to post this, it's great fun. Surprised how emotive a few dots can be.
In regards to the concept of teamwork, it's cool. In one game there was this guy who was in 8th place, and the biggest blob in the game was about to eat him. I fed a virus into the big blob and the dude in 8th rocketed to 1st, and he immediately fed me and got me to 2nd. We helped each other throughout the game after that.
[sp]we both ended up dying a dishonorable death when we got cornered. i sacrificed myself to feed him but it was not enough to survive the onslaught of people shooting viruses at us[/sp]

Also more often than not teaming up ends up with one of us getting fucked because we accidentally eat each other while running from a much bigger threat.
Teaming is great fun, and I love doing it when you're with a loyal person (fuck those people who backstab you), but I've noticed it's usually much more of a hindrance than a help. I usually have better luck expanding and growing solo, than I do with a teammate. It slows you down having to watch out for someone else and you gotta grow two people instead of one.
Still, I prefer teaming up when possible, cause the silent working together and helping each other out of sticky situations is pretty sweet when you pull it off.

Holy shit?? He just added gamemodes. FFA and Teams.
Man this game is so awesome.

I had a similar situation once. There was this guy who was in eighth and another who was in the second was barreling down on him. I wasn't even on the board yet, but I shot the guy in second with a virus cell, allowing the guy in eighth to get up to third place. But even after all that, even after I helped him, he came back and ate me.
One thing I hate about this game is how some idiots think if they chase you for so long they'll be able to catch up to you at some point. You dumbasses. I'm smaller than you, your never going to catch up to me.
Fucking selfish teammates. I went from 5th place as "god damn it", to nothing when I shot out lots of mass into a teammate who was gonna get eaten (this enemy was big, and I was too far away to help catch, so I figured I'd lend him my mass to eat the enemy). So this guy goes from a nobody, to all of a sudden 4th or 3rd, and I'm knocked off the leaderboard entirely. The bastard doesn't even give me any mass back??
It's like some top players are idiots, I was a decent player and was winning us lots of battles, but then they leave you as a tiny little ball after you've given it all up to win a huge team battle, and then you're nigh useless.
[editline]12th May 2015[/editline]
Also, way too many selfish cunts as well. If you're a small blob, and one of your titans is getting chased by an enemy titan, fucking relinquish all your mass straight away, for real, cause it'll win you the titan battle.
We had about 10 medium-sized blobs hiding in our titan whilst he was getting slowly devoured, and instead of helping, they just all bail.
[editline]12th May 2015[/editline]
I quit cause the blue titan was way too fucking big after having eaten our top 2 titans and I couldn't see how we could win it.

But even this emergent no-communication stuff is fine. The real problem is a group of 3+ on teamspeak or IRL coordinating. In a game where you can't normally communicate, communication is incredibly strong.
I always make an effort to feed my fellow meme blobs, entire countries have fallen to this
i just feed anyone bigger than me so they chase someone else
but, when i'm running around as john wayne and i kick the shit out of nazi and russia through the absorption of usa, it makes me feel damn proud.
To whoever this was, I am sorry that I ate you when we were running away. :(

I was at the top of the leaderboards for awhile and then I got booted and restarted at the smallest size. Is that supposed to happen?
I played as getawaycar and mars. Got up to fifth. Fun.
Fucking cool there's a new team based gamemode.

Good times.
Played a team game on the European server, Green team (My team) Practically decimated the other blob teams and I got bored.
Everyone thinks they're getting better at the game. They seem to be evolving a "oh hey, I just ate someone and got a lot of blobs fast, that must mean eating people is the most important thing" train of thought
It's the only way I can explain why I keep getting eaten by 400 point blobs when I have literally 50-80. Like, k dude, go ahead and split and die because you gained 10% mass in exchange for a few minutes at half power.
I caused my entire classroom to play this game :suicide:
