Played a team game on the European server, Green team (My team) Practically decimated the other blob teams and I got bored.
I absolutely wrecked some teamgame because the top dog was about to eat my team's highest player until I rocked up and fed him. Shit goes out the window if you cooperate with eachother instead of trying to hoard mass.
team mode is really fun. had teamed up with some guy called IT'SME and kept feeding him. he was getting eaten by some humongous blob, and i shot all my mass into a nearby virus, blob exploded. got eaten 1 sec later because 10 mass. #dieforcountry
yeah team mode is neat
I'm glad he added collision with teammates in team mode. It can be annoying at times when a teammate blocks you from absorbing an enemy, but it opens up loads more dynamic situations. A bunch of my team and I got shepherded into the corner and I was the biggest one out of the lot of us, but my blob was stuck at the other end and I couldn't maneuver up and around due to viruses blocking me. So the enemy gradually ate us, with all the small blobs stuck at the back, which made him big enough to eat me. It was kinda awesome even though I died.
I was a little wojak and I tried helping this big wojak (I think he may be the one you're talking about) and he was such a cunt. Even after I'd drained my 100 mass multiple times into him to help, he still tried to eat me, and basically ignored me. Felt like a spurned lover. I'd done my best as a little blob to help a brother in name out and he just threw me by the side of the road. I later got crushed between him and some other blobs, and even in my dying moments, I ran into him.
what the fuck.... this happened to me i was a big wojak and a small wojak fed me and ran into me and died also sry if a little late
bastard
So I'm thinking of making an Android version of this to brush up on my MMO networking skills Good idea or waste of time?
So I'm thinking of making an Android version of this to brush up on my MMO networking skills Good idea or waste of time?
You'd just be spammed with "RIPOFF OF AGAR" comments.
You'd just be spammed with "RIPOFF OF AGAR" comments.
That's what I'm worried about, even if I differentiated the gameplay a bit etc. Normally I wouldn't consider 'cloning' a game, but there are some things here that make me reconsider that: - The developer of agar seems focused on PC, with the Steam Greenlight submission - The networking behind it is pretty complex, especially so on mobile, so unlike Flappy Bird (for example) it can't be repeatedly copied by dime-a-dozen programmers.
I was using the name Manny Pardo and apparently I did well, judging by the guy whose name was FUCKMANNYPRDO. Absorbing him felt good.
A loli and I fed each other back and forth until we were at like 4.5k mass each
Everyone thinks they're getting better at the game. They seem to be evolving a "oh hey, I just ate someone and got a lot of blobs fast, that must mean eating people is the most important thing" train of thought It's the only way I can explain why I keep getting eaten by 400 point blobs when I have literally 50-80. Like, k dude, go ahead and split and die because you gained 10% mass in exchange for a few minutes at half power.
That's when you realise to go for defense rather than hostility, stay close to targets so big that they wouldn't care for someone with only 100 points, charity their defense with occasional donations, and once you've grown big enough to possibly be a target by your own defenses, you break free of the need and go full-on hostile towards those who screwed you over earlier. Still haven't found a tactic against those #1 with goofy names like "ASSHOLE SLUT" that has a score of 10'000 and just floats around eating literally ANYONE that comes close.

He uses node as a server, socket.io to simplify web socket conections, and quadtree.js to improve collision performance and probably to pick players that are closest to you to send each game tick. Then client side just interpolates positions for smoothness, as well as has simple clientside prediction so your inputs don't lag. Then again this does sound pretty complex for new devs, I guess I've just been doing this too long, :v:

No engines, not even anything for front end except basic html5 features. That's what he told me around the time mass ejection was added.

I'm going for a similar model for mine, C++ server and a mostly server-side simulation
Website seems to be down
Gah I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. Need to be in control of a blob
This game is worryingly addictive The feeling that you get when you quickly gain a lot of mass is amazing
So I'm thinking of making an Android version of this to brush up on my MMO networking skills Good idea or waste of time?
Just ask the guy who made it if you could make a "ported" version to Android. I'm sure he'd be willing to collaborate with you. Hell if lucky you could even do stuff like have both Android and PC connect to the same servers.
I was playing as facepunch on US East and a smaller orange blob fed me. Some moments later I saw an orange blob appear on the other side of the screen and I split to eat it. It later ocurred to me that they might have been the same. Whoever you were, little orange helper, I am sorry for eating you.
Had a really good team game with a guy called "Team Player" or something, and I was "love not war". I was one of the biggest blobs, until some cunt on our team fed the enemy I was trying to eat (we were at a stalemate previously and I was desperately feeding my biggest blob mass [I was split into two]). I would have won right up until this dumbass teammate shot food into the enemy and he devoured me instantly since we were right on top of each other.
Getting a DNS error on the website?
I really hate team games that consist of selfish players. They're about to be eaten, so you pop all your mass into them, turning the fight around and helping them gain twice their size, and then they just fuck off and ignore you. It's like, at least repay the favour by giving me back whatever mass I gave you, and keep the extra you got from killing the guy who was going to kill you without my help. Feels bad, man [editline]13th May 2015[/editline] on the other hand, those players who acknowledge your help and repay the favour back tenfold have my undying respect and make me feel really happy, to the point where I happily give up my mass in the future and even sacrifice myself for em
Is the site down for anyone else? Page isn't loading for me.
I need my blobs man, where are my blobs
Looks like it's back up.
Fuck, I got helped by a guy called Hackbot, and I think he got killed. He helped me get big and as a result, I managed to eat a bunch of people. I tried hunting him down to give him back my mass as a thank you, but I died before I found him :(
Facepunch ate me...
What server do you guys mostly play ?
