Apologies for double post bump/disregard if automerge occurs but I require some help from somebody who is knowledgable of old computers. Just what is that thing I've highlighted?
fuck everybody else gamecube is where its at
True, Gamecube is an amazing game system, but there are still many amazing original games like Tetris, Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, and Duck Hunt that are irreplaceable. You can't get better than the originals.

Apparently, it adds controller ports and a port for ROM cartridges to the Spectrum.
From oldest to newest, I own Intellivision Colecovision with Atari 2600 Adapter Sega Master System GameBoy Sega Mega Drive Sega Saturn PlayStation (or as the bogans call it "The Sony". For some reason, western sydney always referred to PSX as "the sony" as in "want to play the sony".) Nintendo 64 Dreamcast That's probably the cutoff point for old. Owned other systems since then (Gamecube, 360) and built my own Mame cabinet using the iPac controller and an old laptop (but am converting it to work with my older iMac that I never use, since the TV in it is very blurry and flickery). I was definitely in the SEGA camp growing up, which put me in the majority in Australia. Master System forever. One of my greatest memories is playing Phantasy Star with my friend Josh for hours on end. When he first got the game, he thought it sucked, couldn't figure it out. I borrowed it and managed to get a new character ("Myau") after a few hours. Told him about it and we restarted the game and played it religiously. I think we had to call the SEGA hotline once to figure out how to find Lassic in the final dungeon (hidden door - impossible to find because of the pseudo 3d). My fave games for SMS were Wonderboy III, Zillion, Psycho Fox, Phantasy Star and Sonic. I sold all of my He-Man action figures to raise the money to buy Sonic the Hedgehog for Master System (as far as I know, it was never released in North America). It's a little gem. I also had some pretty bad games that my mum bought on special. Aztec Adventure, ugh. And I have one called Pit Pot the Castle which is impossible. As far as I know, noone on Earth has ever beaten the expert mode in it.
I have a huge collection of Atari games I found in my grandparent's attic but my family's Atari actually stopped working ages ago. Don't know where my NES is. I DO know where my N64 is. Because it's the Hey You Pikachu one, and it's -awesome-. I have like 7 Gamecubes. We already had one, and my mom and I went to a Black Friday sale. They were selling the console+That Zelda promo disc set for $30. They were GOING TO be Christmas gifts, but oh well. So we still have one of those in our Motorhome and stuff to play on trips.
Also the fact the analog stick is on the left hand side of the controller, so you either have to play PSP style or go at it South Paw, that being said you can use the consoles Keyboard and Mouse, but if you are going to do that, why bother with the console at all. The same is with the PS2 version, long loading screens, sloppy controls, you end up having to use a keyboard and mouse, might as well use the PC version.
Emwearz! I thought I recognised that set up. And since you have no idea who I am I'm going to go back to lurking the Racketboy IRC. As for retro gaming, I have my share of consoles. On a bit of a Master System binge right now.
Are there any unknown gems for Master System. Every MS fan has played Phantasy Star, Zillion, Wonderboy 3 etc...
Recently, I started college. Thankfully, my two closest friends from high school go there also. One of them lives in a dorm there, the other and I commute. My friend that lives in a dorm bought a Nintendo 64 and hooked it up in his dorm. Every Tuesday and Thursday, we all meet up and play Super Smash Bros. religiously. The two of them usually cycle through multiple characters, but I constantly play Donkey Kong. I don't know why. I just love Donkey Kong.
The Photo isn't mine, but I do own both of these. And I would willingly give my life for them.
Are there any unknown gems for Master System. I dont agree with this entirely, but it's pretty good. http://retro-sanctuary.com/TOP%20100%20Master%20System%20GAMES%20page%201.html
I have a Nintendo 64 Around here somewhere, and at my grandparents is my Commodore 64 and Saga Megadrive. Game on all three were the tits. [editline]1st October 2011[/editline]
But it's pretty good.
Wonderboy in monsterland should be more around 10 than 39.
Does anyone know if this bundle edition of the SNES is rare in any way? I heard somewhere that it was only available in Toys 'R' Us but I'm not sure. Okay the site is very unreliable but heres a smaller version

But I certainly don't agree with the order.

The very first, two games, that I ever layed my eyes on and played. EDIT: My Dad probably still has the Discs laying around his Office somewhere. I'll see If I can dig them up.
All I really have left is a Playstation 1 and a Nintendo 64. I found a Super Nintendo on ebay, might just shell out for it. Man, that will bring back so many memories.
I had an N64 but my mom sold it to pay for our Christmas presents. I used to have an SNES but I forgot what happened to it. I have a bunch of Intellivision games in the back room of my basement and I believe the console is somewhere in the garage. I never played it.
I have a bunch of Intellivision games in the back room of my basement and I believe the console is somewhere in the garage. I never played it.
You should see if you can find it and take pictures, Intellivisions are awesome.
All I have is a N64.
my ever growing collection love hem !!!
Holy shit dude, you could open a retro game store.
As far as multiplayer games, I personally recommend adding most of these to your collections: River City Ransom (NES), Secret of Mana (SNES), Double Dragon (NES), Metal Warriors (SNES), and Doom Troopers (SNES), Kirby Super Star (SNES), Super Bomberman 2 (SNES) and Seiken Densetsu 3 (SNES) and Shadow of the Ninja (NES)
First console I played was the snes my parents had, only had Super Mario All-Stars for it. My dad gave it away to charity a couple of years later without me knowing. Had a Playstation growing up, but a friend of mine had an N64 and it always interested me (watching him play Ocarina of Time blew my mind), and wanting one got sort of stuck in the back of my head. Bought one four or five years ago from Gamestation, got the console, cables, one controller and any five games from the tiny section next to the counter. They didn't have many great games there, but I've bought a couple off ebay since then. This thread's made me bid on a couple more games. I've got GoldenEye, Rogue Squadron, Body Harvest, South Park, Ridge Racer 64, Shadows of the Empire and Mission Impossible. Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time are on their way.

I want your PS1 games.
i have a NES, N64, Gameboy color, gameboy advance, gamecube (sold it but still have some games), nintendo ds lite. that's it.
Please don't let this thread die, every amateur collection pic I see here is pure sex and my pants suffer, but I don't care. Also I'm a very proud owner of a still working Sega Saturn Model 1, this: And not the fugly round-button Model 2. Edit - Also, the controller on the first model was also much cooler, it was much more uncomfortable but it looked better than the second one.
