we had an apple 2gs with almost a thousand games, but the monitor got problems so one day my mum decided to sneakily chuck the whole lot out because we hardly played it anymore
I feel bad for the people who will grow up and say the oldest games and consoles they ever played were on 360's and PS3's. To me, they would never have the same feel as a PS1 (oldest I've played...) or even a PS2, which is already pushing it.
I think they should at least play something as old as a PS1. It was such a great console. PS1 and all the others. Dreamcast, GBC, PS2 while your at it, gamecube and nintendo.
The oldest I've got is the Gamecube (because that was what came out when I was just old enough to play games). Greatest thing ever.

My very-first console was the Super Nintendo I whined out of my uncle's possession (I was so evil back then) along with A Link to the Past, Megaman X, Super Mario World, etc.
I bought a Commodore Amiga on a flea market at around 2005 with a giant assortment of pirated games, 90% of them didn't work BTW.
Fast forward to 2010, I go take out the trash and notice a giant ass cardboard box inside the garbage container, I open it up and find pretty old PC games including Fallout, complete with box, manual, etc.
I also found a worn copy of Smashball 2 (also with the box), a non-functional joystick and something more obscure: Alien Virus, a "horror"-adventure game that happens to be more unintentionally amusing than horrifying, a look at the slogan already made me chuckle a little, "In space, some[b]things[/b] can hear you scream!".

I got a SNES and 11 games, 2 controllers for £40 off Gumtree (seriously it's better to just every day look on your local Gumtree and find someone selling it for a low price)

I have a PS1 at my grandmother's and the first Gameboy in a drawer somewhere.
My mom bought the second in Spain. God knows how much time I spent on that thing.
I am the proud owner of a boxed ZX Spectrum +2 James Bond Action Pack.
The oldest console I've ever had was a PS1. But I've owned all the gameboys after the original game-boy.
Pity because I've had so much fun playing with my friends NESs and N64s.
Also I've lost my PS1 I have no idea where it is :(
Funny thing is, because I was moving house my mom packed my Gameboy advance in with my toys. Because we boxed up early, I didn't have it for 3 months. The night before she packed, i was eating some donuts with suger, which sprinkled all over the place.
So after 5 months of waiting, I found my gameboy. Turned it on and to my surprise and disgust hundreds of ants started pouring out. They managed to bulid a mini-nest in there :v:
I remember playing my nintendo 64 a lot when I was young. Battle tanks and fucking army men and zelda ocarina of time. those were good games
