Actually, yeah, saying "toxic in-game community" does imply that every single person is toxic. You don't call the in-game community toxic if it's only a few select people that are like that. For the most part, the community is almost the exact opposite of toxic.
If I have a cold not 100% of me is sick. The word toxic in this context has no actual definition, and is defined by person from person.
Also I'm not going to sit here and argue over who's own personal experience is true or not, I don't want this thread to derail. We're here to discuss the Steam Summer Sale and the subject's matter, I gave my opinion to someone who asked for it, and so did you; which I respect. Your opinion is correct from what happened or happens to you inside the game, and what happened to me is correct for me. Right now we're not trying to prove anything of value, let him find that out himself. I've always respected you and your opinions, but do not call me a lier of my own beliefs.
Can someone with experience with Steam Database verify to me if the Legacy of Kain Collection was pulled from steam? I was looking forward to buying it but for some reason I can't find it on steam anymore.
Checking steamdb, it seems to be gone, but the individual games themselves are all on sale, 75% off each.
I don't know what the original price of the package was, but you can still save money buying the games individually.
is there any ARG this time around?
is there any ARG this time around?
I think they learned their mistake from last year's fiasco
So is Squad a no-go? Its been sitting on my wishlist for some time now

LoL is completely toxic.
Is the unreal bundle worth the 8 bucks or should I just grab UT2K4?
Also anyone played TowerClimb? How is it?
Firewatch worth it ?
I kinda want one of those story-oriented game for a change.
Firewatch worth it ?

I thought the ending was ass but the story itself was alright. Granted it's a walking simulator so if you don't mind that I'd say go for it.
I still can't fathom how people can define Firewatch's story "alright" or "average", let alone "good" or "fantastic"
I still can't fathom how people can define Firewatch's story "alright" or "average", let alone "good" or "fantastic"
Like Renegade said, it's a very realistic story. You aren't suddenly thrust into some epic war where you're the main event. It's a game about literal solitude, watching over the wilderness as a park ranger.
If you go in expecting anything but that then you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
I think my Visa giftcard is broken. I put 150$ on it but it isn't activating even after 24 hours.
"Credentials locked or incorrect" it says about the Security code and points to it. I think I might need to wait longer which is a shame, because I had my eyes on Fo4 and Fo4 Season Pass because it became more profitable to buy that.

TowerClimb is really fun.
Get ready for some awkward controls, though. It's weird at first, but it's intentional.

I still can't fathom how people can define Firewatch's story as "terrible".

Wasn't there some sjw scare when that game came out? I swear people were comparing it to gone home, but I never actually did any research into the game myself.

I don't think there are really any significant reasons not to get it. I haven't encountered any toxic players in the 15 hours i've played so far. You could always get it and then if you really don't like it, refund it.

There was 0 SJW stuff of any kind in Firewatch.
or you could just play it online for free cus it is. you're literally paying for flash dlc. if you like the creator and want to support him then sure but like
idk
B-but... muh Steam trading cards
On a more serious note though, I know it's a free game. I played the beginning of the game for free, liked it a lot, and then decided to get the Steam version. Can't really say it's a bad purchase for €2,74 too, paid version has quite some new equipment and skills, 8 new bosses and a new, extra challenging area.
Even though it may be 'just a flash game', I found it a pretty darn enjoyable flash game.

Alright I must be thinking of a different game then.
Best local multiplayer games to play with friends?
Best local multiplayer games to play with friends?
We often play Contagion, it's a Source-based zombie shooter geared slightly towards the realistic end of the spectrum. It's €2.49 at the moment.
Age of Empires II HD is a given too, it's also €2.49.
Best local multiplayer games to play with friends?
Towerfall: Ascension
(Probably?) Duck Game
Assault Android Cactus
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime

if by Local Multiplayer you mean actually sitting in the same room
Best local multiplayer games to play with friends?
Gang Beast, definitely.
Also rocket league let you play with your local team against online teams.

There's a certain difference between anchoring a story in reality and getting the audience in a certain setting and presenting them two major plot directions that are downright never completely fleshed out, nor resolved by the time the story ends
[editline]Today[/editline]
And since we are it, if I have to judge Firewatch on its own merit as a walking simulator, it's not GOTY material either
Is The Crew: Wild Run edition worth it for soloing?

In addition to what's been mentioned, Crawl is pretty cool.
Best local multiplayer games to play with friends?
In addition to what's already been named:
STARWHAL
Nidhogg
Ultimate Chicken Horse
Lethal League
Screencheat
Tiny Brains
Trine 1-2-3
this sale's steam emotes are fucking garbage
Everything was resolved, [sp]you were suppose to feel let down, that's the point of the story. The characters let their imagination and fear get the best of them, only for explanation to be pretty rational. Kinda like how you'll randomly be afraid of the dark for no good reason, so you walk a little faster to your room at night. [/sp]
You have to look at it for what it is, not what you wanted it to be. You don't play a mario game expecting to see the xcom initiative.
The game was a terrible mass effect sci-fi adventure, but was a great realistic novel-like story.
I can admire Firewatch, but even thinking about it a little makes me extremely angry. I was, it seems, the worst fit for this game.
The idea of making you, the player, come up with these crazy theories while playing, only to see that everything is a lot simpler is pretty amazing; too bad the game has to basically lie to make this work.
[sp]In the very beginning you witness the radio woman seemingly forget that she's still talking to you, and then saying creepy stuff like "no, he has no idea" or "yeah, I'll be sure to pursue him on this topic", which makes it sound like there'a a conspiracy involving her. I was trying to get that storyline expanded by not opening up to her and basically trying to escalate a conflict, because, you know, I thought she was "a traitor". Too bad the game didn't feel like it. It's impossible to make this story into reality, and the game expects you to totally forget about this small scene. It's a game where 85% percent of interactivity is dialogue, a game that, in a way, promises to let you see your choices resolve; this stuff is not okay. Even when I try to let this slide, I remember this is a story that deals with isolation and the paranoia it can cause; and is misses one of the biggest paranoia plot points - being paranoid about the people closest to you! I'm still really upset.[/sp]

I picked it up last night and played a few rounds, got frustrated on how bad I was, and quit. Hard to spot people to shoot at
Was browsing another queue, and steam drops this page on me. Cool games, Steam!
