is it me or was this sale kind of lackluster
All sales now are lackluster because they don't have flash sales that make games incredibly cheap.
It feels like I've wasted all my cash during this sale on mediocre games.
What did you buy?
Project Cars
Prison Architect
2x H1Z1 (gifted one to a friend)
Deus Ex HR
R6 Season Pass
While pCars and Deus Ex are alright I do regret purchasing h1z1.
The sales are 'boring' now because they did away with anti-consumerist elements disguised as games and events.
All I bought in the Steam sale was Stardew Valley. Definitely worth the $12 that I spent.
Is the steam controller only useable for steam games or can I play games off steam with it?
Is the steam controller only useable for steam games or can I play games off steam with it?
I think you need to have the steam overlay on the game for it to work. I think you can use it on any game that you open through steam with the add non steam game thing.
you can set up a general control scheme too, but to customize for the specific game it has to be added to steam

Yeah great, remove all the fun stuff and chanses for even cheaper games.
I bet you're the life of the party

Other than the flash sales, what are you referring to as anti-consumerist?
All in all I still prefer having the ability to refund games over flash sales.
I basically spent this sale buying just one game, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and piling up the cards by exploring my queue (which, in turn, gave me new games to add to my wishlist)
Tomorrow I'll do a quick round-up and decide what I'm going to buy for this sale, with a budget of circa € 20

Don't forget the pro-consumer events disguised as games, they took those too.
I'm happy to not have to miss out on certain games because they're on sale before i get my paycheck personally
[editline]2nd July 2016[/editline]
and stressing over buying a game because it might flash sale tomorrow

But there was always a recap on the last day
So with $12 left in my steam wallet I was thinking about finally picking up RUST.
Is the community still terrible that I should avoid it and spend my money elsewhere? That's really the only thing that has held me back from getting it.

if you don't mind the possibility that you'll be an asian woman, then yeah go ahead.

The events were anti-consumerist ? Maybe the later events once the trading card system rolled in, but back in 2010-2011 when Valve did the events where you could win tickets for getting achievements in certain games and use those to either get free goodies or get a chance to win free games. Those events were quite fun.

Hell for some time Valve even went all out of their way by getting indie devs to create event themed updates with new content + special sale achievement.

Man, seeing that again after so long makes me miss it. It got me playing a whole bunch of games that I had in my library that I didn't play (I got some of them off humble bundle and such) because I thought I wouldn't like it or looked boring.
Also the special content in some of the games for the sales were pretty awesome.
Was wondering, is Master of Orion ok to purchase right now or just wait till release with some possible dlc.

Here's my haul this sale, the bundles were too good to pass up
Can somebody recommend me Subnautica? Is it good?
I think you need to have the steam overlay on the game for it to work. I think you can use it on any game that you open through steam with the add non steam game thing.
They added the ability to force an arbitrary game's config globally. Steam needs to be running, but if you make a config on something that refuses to run on Steam you can then just set it to run that config and then launch your game normally.

Shut your mouth and buy it, because you can't breath in the water.
It's a great exploration game, secrets and awesome (scary as fuck) creatures in the darkest of depths. Build lots of stuff and keep easily updated with the developer's progress. They're planning co-op but it'll take a long time. There's survival (+hardcore mode), freedom and creative mode. Real atmospheric, especially at night but I'm too much of a pussy for that.
I bought Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Unfortunately I don't have the head to play it just yet and it looks like it only has one save, which is bad because my brother started it already.
My brother bought Miscreated after seeing some video that was recommended for him. I could care less because its was his money after all.

If you're using steam family sharing, MGSV will use a different save file for each account.
For anyone who has a Xbox 360 controller and the Steam Controller, which one do you prefer? 38 for the Steam Controller is tempting but i already find the 360 controller very comfortable

I wanted an Xbox360 controller but wired to avoid problems and it was really hard to find a new one. The only thing I may not like (since I haven't tried it) is the lack of a right stick for the camera, not sure how comfortable the touch pad is.
Does GTA:SA still hold up in 2016?
