All the media spheres/theatres show blank white.
-snip- didn't see it posted.
As I was editing my avatar, someone opened a portal to the meatspin website (the site with a dick spinning and a loop music) then I misclicked on it...
I can't seem to find this edit mode, even when I'm in my own room?

Aww man. I miss all the cool things. Fun fact: I actually messaged vinny about this way back a few months ago, but he was offput by the mass of 8channers and porn-related content hidden away. Wonder if he explored the ruins of 8chan's world, or any of my stuff. Originally JanusVR had a big set of threads on 8chan, except this was back in January during a massive DDOS attack. After the weeklong attack was over, people forgot about the game.
It's just not the same without my DK2 :/
I'm gonna post a few places I've found while exploring. The first one is reachable at this address: http://amy.vrsites.com/1/478 To connect to it, while ingame, hit TAB and input the address exactly. And here's the image of one of it's subpages. Daily reminder: JanusVR made vaporwave real.
this feels like a less functional, crashy, secondlife but with portals and VR has the extreme benefit of easy hosting custom spaces, though but the developer needs to make this rely less on his own servers
oh hey op, i met you

He calls himself james, or james2
oh hey op, i met you
ey bb Next up is a room I made! It's the space station 13 map, modeled after boxstation. (I think, it's been a while) You can find this one at the address: http://john.vrsites.com/1/677 And here's a large image of the map in whole:

Many refinements to make in the programming areas.
Hopefully this grows and becomes just as fucked up, if not more, than worlds.com
also fun fact, you can upload models to dropbox and it'll work
Whenever I create a portal it redirects me to duckduckgo/WEBSITEURL, does anyone know what is up with that? [editline]21st July 2015[/editline] Nevermind, restarting fixed it. I stumbled upon a recreation of the Black Sun from Snow Crash, which the whole thing is inspired by
Hey guys, what should the Facepunch hub landscape look like? I've been thinking of making a hubworld through the wikiverse that will allow us to edit and add links to our later works, similar to what 8chan has done. I can model pretty much anything for the facepunch hub scenery, but since it can be edited by anyone, feel free to add your own models once we establish it. So what should the Facepunch hub look like? something indoors, or outdoors? We could look to the 8chan hub for inspiration. Address found at: http://usagii.net/wikiverse/Infinity_Chan_(Metaverse) Don't join it if you're at work, though, there's a giant golden statue of 8chan's founder holding a naked woman in his arms. Also I think the main model of the map isn't hosted anymore, it isn't showing up for me anymore. Safe for work image:
Whenever I create a portal it redirects me to duckduckgo/WEBSITEURL, does anyone know what is up with that?
I had the same problem earlier. Seems that all links need to have 'https://' in them or else the game treats it as a google search. Similar to chrome, I guess.
I do not have that problem in chrome or in game
I do not have that problem in chrome or in game
Oh, no. I was trying to say that it was built as a feature. Similar to chrome's feature of allowing you to search in the address bar. It seems like JanusVR allows this too, in a way.
I need help, I've been trying to use a voxel custom avatar I made with MagicaVoxel but it just won't appear. I have no idea what am I doing wrong.
When I run the game it stays frozen unless I push alt tab then I see it move in the preview. Running on windows 10 Edit: Worked in compatibility mode + run as admin.
Damn, I can't load the 8chan mall anymore. Everytime I open the portal, the game freezes up and crashes.
I keep getting this problem where when I go through a portal my view is rotated 90 degrees and fucks me up.

Have you replaced your model as the head, or the body? Because I think a head cannot be shown if there is no body model. But you can have a body model without a head model. Also here's something most people probably do not know: You can directly edit your avatar with the userid file within the installation folder, and you edit it exactly like a 'room', or a janusVR world. This means that you can apply shaders to your models, have more models than only two, or even have rotating or orbiting models. at least this was the case a few months back. Not sure if it has changed, but I imagine it's not too different
Hey AnonymaPizza, how do you make your worlds? I wanted to try my hand at it so I went through the getting started section of vrsites, but it seems like any models/materials I make in blender have to be uploaded one by one, and then positioned manually? That seems like a big hassle, and moving stuff in janusvr seems really slow. Also, is there any way I can just make a world locally so that I can see my changes faster before I upload everything, or do you know of a faster way? I'd also like to know what your process was for that ss13 map, how you put it together and got it in.

I'd also like to know what your process was for that ss13 map, how you put it together and got it in.
I've found within the last year or two that 3ds Max, what I generally use for modeling, is completely abhorrent for modeling structures with indoor rooms, mainly because of how limited the camera is. You can see some of my attempts at modeling buildings in Shadow of Shrek. But during some of my first days trying to mess around with custom content in JanusVR, I saw someone on 8chan using a particular program for modeling his own world for the game. He was using a game, called Tesseract, which has an ingame octree-based map editor. You can even edit a map in multiplayer! But best of all... You can export a map to .OBJ! So I took this program and learned in and out of how it works. I'll tell you how to use it as well. First, you need to download tesseract from here (the first edition includes all of game game content, while nightly builds expect you to have it already.) keep all of the files in a folder, that I will presume is named Tesseract. Next, I'll tell you how to add custom textures, since that was a pain for me to figure out. Go to Tesseract\media\texture and you will find all of the default textures. Add your own folder and look inside: Each texture needs to be as a PNG, it needs to have a .tex file similar to the other textures in the folder, and it needs to have a power of two for its resolution. (64x64, 128x128, ect.) .tex files are easy to duplicate, they just tell the shader and where the PNG file is. But that's not all! The program has to know where to find the .tex files! Go to Tesseract\config and find default_map_settings.cfg Inside will be lines that refer towards the name of the individual textures. Just add your own. Now that the textures are sorted out, let's look at how to map! Run Tesseract using Tesseract.bat Hit the map browser and select Create a map. You can choose from anywhere between 10 and 16. I do not reccomend 16 unless you plan to spend minutes trying to reach the side even with noclip. Press E to switch between player mode and map editing mode. F10 gives you keybindings for each mode. Left click selects faces, right click moves a selection, the mousewheel extrudes or intrudes on faces, and mouse 3 selects faces that will then be pulled or pushed with the mousewheel. F2 brings up the texture browser, the comma key while using the mousewheel increases or decreases the texture mapping size. the period key while using mousewheel rotates the texture. Also, Using the --SKY-- texture will make things not render. Similar to nodraw in hammer. very useful for optimization. F5 saves the map as a tesseract map. using the chat command
/writeobj MAPNAME
will make a file named mapname.obj in your My Documents\My Games\Tesseract folder. as well as your .mtl file. IT WILL NOT PLACE THE OBJ OR MTL IN YOUR INSTALLATION FOLDER. screenshots are also in this folder. Next, host the OBJ, the MTL, and all textures used in the map on either dropbox, vrsites, or whatever else you use. Edit the MTL file to have all of the textures properly linked similar to this:
# mtl file of Cube 2 level newmtl slot1 map_Kd http://vrsites.com/assets/Anonyma/3/malltex/pk02_floor09b_C.png
full material file here Now, when you get it ingame, hopefully as a workspace world, you will notice a small problem. Your map is huge, and probably off in the distance. You will have to edit your JanusVR world, scale and translate the model from within the game. THEN HIT CONTROL + S in janusVR this copies all of the code in your current room to your clipboard. This might only work with workspaces. I'm unsure. But this allows you to save hard-to-guess things, such as scale values and position. This is also useful for making textured planes by adding the texture to the room, and spawning objects with that texture while ingame. Ghosts are what are used for avatars you can change into using ctrl+click in janusVR. I probably won't be going into how they work as they're really difficult to set up. Ask me if there's any other help you need. Hope my tutorial was easy enough to read, and that I've covered everything. EDIT: also remembered, in tesseract, maps are actually big cubes, so remember to go outside of the map and use the sky texture on all of those large faces as well. EDIT EDIT: ALSO there's a key somewhere in tesseract that optimizes the mesh of the map even better. That key is K. requires capitalization probably.
How do iget my avatar to work?
just kidding figured it out
Do all avatars slide around in the t-pose or is it possible to give them walking animations and stuff?
