Do all avatars slide around in the t-pose or is it possible to give them walking animations and stuff?
No animations, sadly.
No animations, sadly.
Actually it's been shown that models can have animations. But I've never done it.
I'll have to look up on it.
I wish they would make an Android port that works with stuff like Cardboard and Galaxy VR
When I launch it, the game opens to this:

and then crashes.

Is there anyway I configure the video settings?
Ok, so when I launch this, I get a neverending black screen. Is there a way to fix this?
Sorry I haven't updated in a while.

I don't know what could cause either of your problems, but you could probably try updating janusvr, as they've had tons of updates in the last week or so.
But I also found this, concerning settings:
Where are the settings files located?
Since 40.4, userid.txt and other settings files are in an OS-dependent location (note that since 42.5, you can use the "Settings Folder" button found in the ESC menu to take you directly to the location):
Windows: "C:/Users/USER/AppData/Roaming/janusvr"
Mac OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/janusvr
Linux: ~/.local/share/janusvr
On another note.
I found this room a while back. Not too many people know of it.
Seems to be a really chill sort of vaporwave place.
I found it simply because I was online while the guy was making it and testing it out:

Also, I found one of my better images of the ss13 map. Been looking for this for a good while now:

Hopefully they implement an easier way to browse different sites instead of having to search every word in the dictionary.
This is actually getting updated pretty often. Recently they added built-in voice chat, and they made it so that room geometry is now the first thing that loads so you can navigate easier.
I seem to have issues with recorded ghosts, as in, they simply don't show up, same goes for places that you can choose an avatar, the avatars simply don't show, when I go to the avatar selection area, all I see are empty platforms, it's kinda weird.
Couldn't find any solution to this or any explanation.
Made a new avatar today. It even flashes.

I've never had a problem like that. Not sure if I can help, but the developer does view this board:

Making a thread there might be worth a try.
Release 46.16 - updates:
The path toward character animation: Step #1: basic FBX support! Basic geometry (vertices, faces, normals) can now be read from FBX files. Support for much more coming very soon! Panorama using FBX file as an avatar: http://alpha.vrchive.com/image/z2. Internal compression of data is now supported across platforms, which leads to the next feature of 46.16...
zlib integration! Assets can now be compressed using zlib/gzip (extension .gz) making some files much smaller (especially .DAE and .OBJ which are plaintext formats)! Janus automatically detects and decompresses files whose extension is .gz
Sounds like a pretty big deal
I haven't heard about this since 8chan lost interest in it. It's too bad their world has already died a bit due to linkrot.
Awesome to see the new lobby after launching into the old one countless times.
Skeletal animations are properly supported now, so they added some dancing chicks to the main lobby.
Shame this thread is dead, because JanusVR is still being actively worked on. Default avatar is animated now, scenes can be imported from Unity, there's a 64 bit build...
Kinda sucks how there's updates at least once a week but you rarely ever see anyone online. Maybe a Facepunch lobby could still happen.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
