Well we still have Seed of Andromeda https://www.seedofandromeda.com/ I've been following it for a while. While its still in development, it seems promising.
Yobob thank you for your link! I will try out this one since my most bad dreams come true with Haxus doing like Ikkir posted.
Here is some more Hazeron videos for ppl that may not have seen them. First one is dirtbag007's Shores of Hazeron Teaser 2014, video 2-4 is the End of Third Universe Brawl. Feeling bad not participating in the brawl now, thought it was probably gonna be a next one on another occasion, but i was wrong.
come play with syndicate. we're kind of the refugee spot for hazeron players now
I'd definitely be up to join some fellow SoH players. I was the guy that patiently sat back, checking in every half year, waiting... waiting till SoH became better than it was. And now it's gone :( The only good alternative appears to be the far-future Elite:Dangerous and this new game that was just announced the other day http://empyriongame.com/
hey sure add me up; http://steamcommunity.com/id/SeamanStaines Haxus has offered Syndicate a chance to closed beta test his new project, which should be ready in a few weeks.
Is it SoH V.2 or something else?
something else I'm afraid. SoHv2 is on the cards for the far future - and if that ever happens you should get excited, because Haxus is actually surprisingly keenly aware of what he did wrong in SoH, but lacked the time, funds and momentum to change the games direction
I'm hoping that it will fare better this time because if it faces problems again I doubt it would get a 3rd chance.
I'm hoping that it will fare better this time because if it faces problems again I doubt it would get a 3rd chance.
It won't be for a few years, probably.
hey sure add me up; http://steamcommunity.com/id/SeamanStaines
Added you up on steam, my nick is Tolwyn. Any more info on what platform/os the new game gonna be for?, Tablets only, like he(haxus) stated, or PC also? [editline]19th September 2014[/editline]
... and this new game that was just announced the other day http://empyriongame.com/
WOW, that Pre-Alpha game play trailer on their site blew my mind!. Still cant believe Haxus pulled the plug on Hazeron so easy, space games seem popping up everywhere these days, and as they continue to develop, Haxus and his/ours Hazeron may just miss/missed the boat concerning space games.

HOPE? On the horizon.... Empyrion, that game I mentioned a few weeks ago a few posts up just launched their kickstarter today, you guys might be interested as it's as damn close i've seen anything else get to hazeron... Haxus is a paradox wrapped in a mystery wrapped in another paradox.
Haxus is a paradox wrapped in a mystery wrapped in another paradox.
So haxus is haxus? It's good to see some soh news, though, even if it's not much.
my only question is why haxus did this without warning, and why he did it when it was finally functioning well for the first time ever? still holding out hope he's been kidnapped by hackers :v:
Yeah it still messes me how he called it quits just a few days after he finally fixed movement lag which plagued the game since the beginning and released the new ship editor.
I hope it comes back. I've always wanted to play a game as massive as this. Unfortunately I only found it five days after haxus shut it down. Just my luck. :v:
If he does bring it back. Smaller universe. Please
I made my first colony in a nearby system when Haxus shut it down :suicide:
If he does bring it back. Smaller universe. Please
The size doesnt really matter if he implements a mechanic that properly balances expansion, travel, and stuff. i used to suggest population growth as a limiter but haxus has always favored meaningless population numbers that grow very quickly to their local cap, which also makes passenger ships and medicine pretty useless. he's always had a lot of features that arent implemented properly as to actually have their intended effect. Anyways, with slow population growth and need for passenger ships to effectively colonize other planets and expand, those super long distance outposts would be a lot less viable than they were and really improve the feel of the game. Without very high tech medicine those colonies would also be at risk (assuming medicine is implemented properly with death rates and other effects and resistance to diseases on your species native homeworld in order to prevent mass newbie death and have some scientific plausibility) of actually falling apart without regular shipments of supplies from the core of the empire. In old hazeron, the main maintenance concern was an activity ship/later activity alts. I pretty much perfected the methods of mass colonization (toucan dominance established) and i can tell you how easy it was, i had a tl32 jack of all trades ship i used to fly called the jove, with enough cargo space to power build 10 cities, fight off pirates, mine it's own fuel, and contain plenty of room for poker tables while maintaining very high acceleration at a brisk 500 m/s^2, if i recall correctly. It was too easy just to plop down, shit out a city, port over to the activity ship and add it to the mission, port back, set it to be completely self sustaining then buy back all unused materials and tech disks, grab it's officer and move on and do the same thing over and over with no threat to it's stability even with enough military bases on each one to only have a ~2 morale buffer or so.
My biggest wish is that we get a better rank system, because it was a massive headache when you could only give four people the authorization to do something in a given city at any given time. I want to be given the ability to have "x group can access the bank", "y group can command any ship", "z group can do anything in any city" kind of thing going on. [editline]18th December 2014[/editline] Also NeoCAS shall rise from the ashes as NeoNeoCAS. I still don't know what the CAS stands for.
Whyyyyyyyyyy! Why is he so strange! God this game has so much potential it hurts!
I still haven't deleted it off my system. And I don't intend to. :c One day [editline]19th December 2014[/editline] I found the sound files so I've changed the received email noise on my phone to the chat noise. http://a.pomf.se/ynupxd.wav [editline]19th December 2014[/editline] If it does come back. Can we please all form one empire instead of a dozen really small ones? You can own your own sectors and run them to your hearts content. Plus you'll be part of a bigger group in case you need help.
most of the console bleeps and boops are in a certain mechanic in EVE online as well. I keep getting reminded of SoH by it :(
every time I see posts here I keep hoping its been resurrected :v:

I would had wanted to join any empire with other people, but none of you meanies accepted me :(
I would say "join Syndicate", but it would be nice to have another solid empire to compete with.
Out of interest; I always saw people complaining about Syndicate, but why?
