Shores of Hazeron - again! a free deep galactic MMO space game [Servers have been permanently shut

Why not $15 or $20 for permanent play?
And a free 2 hour demo or something for the new people?
And there went 90% of the player base...
:v:
Why can't we have Hazeron the way we wanted it?
Just why?
I'd pay a one-time fee to play the game but a fucking subscription is how you murder the game
Damn, i was going to give it a go too. Hes driving away new players as well as old.
In other news oldschool Runescape is F2P from the 19th if anyone needs their nostalgia hit
is it going to be full F2P with the member area included?
Alright let's check it again.
Server Status:
No Players Online
And it's fucking Sunday.

Not that i'm expecting there to be many players at all even when it's set up.
Its Pay to Play anyhow, I doubt anyone will do it.

No idea
It's kind of funny really, people in the discussion thread asked for a subscription fee. Donations sure, but what the hell were they thinking when haxus said he wouldn't update it?
He had one job, to not fuck it up.
And he fucked it up.
Jesus fucking christ how shitty.
Fuck $10/month I'd rather play Runescape
You people laugh, but objectively this pay model makes Runescape a better game. Jagex is actively supporting their game and releasing content, Haux just breaks things by "fixing" stuff and then breaks more things when he fixes those things that weren't actually broken to begin with.
I hope somebody here has a forum account to go tell him how fucking stupid this plan is.

Bizarre amount of people willing to pay $10 a month for SoH in it's current state. Apparently that's what convinced Haxus to bring it back in the first place.
New players won't pick it up though, which means the community will wither and die very quick.
If you want Hazeron, go on the forums and convince him to use Patreon. We can keep the servers up and stop the community dying...
I'd honestly rather do a one-off payment of like $60 or more than have to deal with any kind of subscription model, even if it's like 5 bucks a month.

Unfourtunately it looks like the subsciption model is there to stay, especially when he is claiming there is enough people to pay for it.
if he lets us do something like pay one time for six months of access, i might give it a shot
if he makes us use some stupid system that auto-charges your card every month or year or whatever i'm not touching it

$5 just to set up an account and try it? That's silly.

assuming he keeps the offline designers and singleplayer world in the launcher it's not like they can't try out the game at least somewhat
Welp, I tried to convince him otherwise.
I'd be okay with subbing if it weren't for the fact that I can't trust him not to just drop the game and waste my money.

He has too many ass kissers at the moment. That and he's a gigantic sperg.
I don't think he realizes what taking money for SoH means though. People are going to expect more from him and the game. He will need to get people working on the game. Watch as people line up to volunteer for the game, get special powers, and then abuse them one after the other. Seen all this before.
Man you know you are jaded as fuck when even the return of one of your favourite games makes you cringe.

That and his support for the game and its players has typically been abysmal.
I can't really justify myself buying Hazeron since this weekend was probably my last actual decent one I'll be getting for a few months. I work 13+ hour days and I can't exactly do something like Hazeron in my free time anymore.
Oh well, I guess I'll have the memories of the good ol' days.
The problem with this subscription is it walls out any new blood joining the community, as well as turning a lot of the veterans away. He's setting Hazeron up to be almost empty, with only a few old veterans (and apparently new ass kissers?) still playing. The major empires have already said they can't justify paying for a game with no one to shoot at.
There's no way he can make money on it, and he only considered bringing it back because people said they would pay for it in it's current state. He'll be operating at a loss until November when the server contract runs out - and that is when the game will probably shut down if it isn't successful.
A lot of people would be willing to throw quite a bit of money at it, but not if he is removing the community by pay walling out the vital supply of noobs.

I'm sure we can unanimously agree that if he kept it free, but kept the donation option, most of us would pitch in if and when Haxus put up a wikipedia-esque "I-need-money-sad-face" banner.
But nope, he's so deluded that he'll probably end up getting less money than if it was free with donations.
I hereby pledge that if Haxus forgets about the whole subscription thing and goes for a Patreon/Donation model, I'll drop down a thirty just because I have an actual job now and it wouldn't be much compared to how much fun I've had with the game in the past.
Other than that, forget about it.
Made a little poll kinda thing to see how many people will buy it and who will not.

I love how they instantly attack me because of my opinion and tell me to get out, rofl.
