The Eschaton Circuit welcomes Holt! and his bro to it's embrace.
Just finished my replica of the ship from RP_Bahamut, pics soon. Luckily that map had a lot of dead space to put fuel tanks and shields/sensors.
The Bahamut was such a cool ship too!
Strange. City was 25% loyal, I confiscated 5% and they rebelled. Looks like it's back to square 1! Soon we shall reclaim the homeland.
No metal to build mine to mine metal that could build spaceship factory to get to main planet that rebelled and retake to send oxygen back to dieing moon colony trapped on da moon [editline]22nd February 2015[/editline] I only need two more metal TWO MORE
use C and fly
Like a pretty butterfly!
But im on da moon
But im on da moon
Your species can't fly in vacuum? I thought everyone could.
Has Haxus mentioned any upcoming updates? If it starts making more progress i'd probably consider paying since i'm a pillock with little self-control. [editline]22nd February 2015[/editline] And I really want to drop from orbit in a motorbike.
How's the game now compared to how it was?
How's the game now compared to how it was?
Hasn't changed from the state it was in before the servers were shut down in any way except the shrinking of the universe (1 galaxy, something like 9000-12000 sectors or systems, can't remember), and reverting back to the lego-style ship builder.
I kinda prefer the lego ship builder over the newer one.
The CAD ship builder could be neat if it had a fuckload more polish and accessibility work done to it, but that would be an enormous undertaking honestly. That's just to get it to a usability level on par with normal CAD software, to say nothing of game functionality considerations. How do you ensure all walking spaces are walkable by all races? How do you ensure entrances and passages are actually traversable in the game? And so on and so forth.
That would be a cunning defence tactic if the CAD ship builder was still in place (and in effect for buildings), make a race of midgets and scale all corridors and doorways to their size :v: [editline]23rd February 2015[/editline] Für Großes Hobbiton

The "new" shipbuilder was never ready, and has been abandoned for being too difficult to use.
There's a bug fix patch hitting Monday.
Hope it includes crash while building.
I spend most of the time idling around in the ship designer on Hazeron while waiting for TL to go up. I can make you guys a good looking ship / port if you want, just send me a PM here or on Hazeron (Oni)
Hope that's the offline designer.. The online one lags the shit out of everything ever. I almost wish Haxus would just make it so you can take the file directly and just burn it to disk and remove the online one to free up the lag. [editline]23rd February 2015[/editline] I appear to be in limbo. Yay. Started since last night when all of a sudden my home system because horribly laggy. As in five minutes of absolutely no response, two seconds everything works, five minutes unresponsive, until it gave up and limbo. Which brings me to question, if a paying customer cannot use the service are they entitled some compensation? Haxus should really make some kind of ToS now that he is charging. I don't mind right now because whatever, but it could become an issue in the future.
Snip
So how's Hazeron been fairing for the two days I've been gone?
For any of you all currently playing, I've stuck my star trek texture set up on the forums http://www.hazeron.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3934
TRAVEL ADVISORY: Ships are borked, stay planetside or risk death.
How are they broken?
What's new in this update? System/World Names Bug When a city is founded in a new system, the system name and planet names are not changed. Fixed. Sensor Scan Report Broken Font size buttons and scroll arrows on sensor console info box do not work. Fixed. Sensor Scan Info Keys The scan information box cannot be controlled with keyboard commands. Added keyboard commands to scroll, change font size, and close the scan info box. No default keys are assigned to these. They can be configured in program settings. Vehicle Fetch Bug A ship parks aboard a larger ship in a vehicle bay where a fighter or other vehicle parks. When the carrier ship fetches a fighter or other vehicle, it is placed aboard the subordinate ship. The carrier then fetches another vehicle at the next cycle, ad infinitum, resulting in hundreds of vehicles aboard the subordinate ship. Fixed. The existing code was attempting to prevent this. A particular configuration of rooms was required to enable it to happen. This was posted in a previous update but was not mentioned in the update description. Confusing Response A bone was offered for sale at a grocery. The grocer told the seller they do not buy those, to try a grocery instead. This was confusing. A grocery will not buy things that are not edible to the local populace. If the local citizens were not scavengers, they would not eat bones. The grocer's reply was elaborated to give a hint to this. Star Map Sector Name Bug Player logs in, sees correct sector names on star map. Requests star map data and sector names are incorrect. Fixed I think. Time will tell on this one. Bomb Exploit Subsidized ship loads up with bombs. Transfers them to a private ship. Private ship sells them. Cities will no longer buy things they would give away for free to a subsidized ship, no matter who is trying to sell them. They will offer to take them for free. Free Hydrogen, Sell Electricity Hydrogen is free. Ship generates power with it. Power can be sold to cities. Subsidized ships can no longer sell electricity to cities for money. They will offer to take it for free. Low Tech Particle Collector Bug Design a ship with a weapon bay split between two decks. Configure it as a particle collector bay (normally TL28). Put weapon units in only one of the weapon rooms. Oops, no tesloid dissipators are required, meaning TL28 not required. Fixed. Designs of this type will now requires the tesloid dissipators. No change or update to the design is required. Cannot Load Troops City shows plenty of garrison troops; they are standing around. Attempts to load troops are told no troops are ready for deployment. Fixed. Troops Not Manning Stations Stations at bases and guard towers are not always getting manned by a troop. Fixed. Surrender City Offer/Accept Sequence City surrender can be used as an exploit. Create a small town on an enemy world. Surrender it to the enemy. Wait for it to import goodies. Capture it. Build bases, etc. City surrender now goes like this: 1) Emperor (only) offers to surrender one or more cities, by right-click on city on Governance/Places page. This is not a change, just here for info. 2) Emperor is asked to confirm surrender. This how-to information is contained on that confirmation dialog. 3) Confirmation sends a message on the Diplomacy channel that can only be received by the Emperor and VP of the surrendering empire and the empire offered the cities. 4) The Emperor or Vice-Emperor of the receiving empire must be on line to accept the surrender message. 5) The surrender message does not time out. You have plenty of time to switch characters to hand cities back and forth between empires. 6) If the surrender includes the town square flag, the populace withdraws their money from the bank. The percentage they withdraw equals (100% - CurrentLoyalty%). If the city is occupied, they take it all. 7) When you surrender a city, you are only surrendering the flags controlled by your empire. If you do not control the town square flag, ownership of the city does not change. This is not a change, just here for info. 8) If you do not control all of the flags in a city, you can only surrender your flags to an empire that controls one of the other flags. This is not a change, just here for info. Levy Tax Change An exploit was described to me that involved levying taxes and the change of ownership of a city. Tax levies now cause runs on the local bank. When a tax is levied, citizens now withdraw a portion of their remaining money after the levy is complete, regardless of any revolution. The percent they withdraw from the bank is equal to the tax levy. This amount is taken from the citizen account and shows up on the bank statement as 'Withdrawals'. The citizens hide this money in a place where you will never find it. Pillage City Broken When the town square of an enemy city is captured, the local banks are pillaged by the conquerers. All funds in the citizen and government accounts are split evenly between all avatars present in the city when it is captured. You have to be in a development or on a road of the city, not in a design studio, and you must be an enemy toward the previous owner of the city to get a share of the loot. A thought message informs each looter of their share. Oops, this wasn't working. Now it's fixed. Pilots Land on Cliffs When the Land on Planet order is issued, the pilot is supposed to locate a level spot, preferably in daylight, to land. The pilot always seems to find the worst possible places to land. Fixed. The lack of a minus sign caused this to be backward, instead finding the least level terrain. :P City Abandonment Decay Cities incur a -1 abandonment penalty to morale for every 4 days since their solar system was last visited by a human player. This was changed to -1 per 7 days. FYI (not new). While you are on line, all cities in the sector that contains your home world (where you are presently spawn tied) are signaled that you visited them, without you actually going there. Each avatar can maintain a "home sector" from afar this way. Special Body Weapon Never Available Special body weapon of creatures is never available for use, always shows cooldown timer. Fixed. Scan Reports Unreliable Scan reports reported to be unreliable, not matching Q of actual resources present. Fixed. This should not affect the Q of existing resources but it could, wherever they end up should be final. You do not have to rescan any systems; the scan report will now show the correct data. Cities Refuse Diplomatic Messages Cities refuse to deliver diplomatic messages. Fixed. Ship Tech Level Bug Start manufacturing a ship. Block the spawn pad. When the process shows it is waiting to spawn because the pad is blocked, push Run again. Clear the pad. Typically a ship will spawn of higher TL than could be constructed. Fixed. You are not supposed to be able to push the Run button while it is waiting; that broke some data. Button should now be gray appropriately. Server verifies before doing anything.
http://shoresofhazeron.com/update.html not bad, i guess he's serious about bugfixing.
