My colony advanced a bit:

does money from all your colonies trough the entire galaxy get collected at your empire capital, or does it get collected per sector capital?
After making sure that the flow of goods was stable and that the colony could sustain itself, I look back once last time at Proxy Prime before heading back to my Empire Capital.

Every day half of the money in your colonies goes to their respective sector capitals, and half of your sector capitals money goes to the empire capital.
What is better, more shots of a weapon bay at low damage or 1 big powerfull shot? I can get 1 barrage of 6 shots, each dealing 460 damage while one powerfull shot would only allow 1400 damage
[editline]29th August 2013[/editline]
actually, got it up to 6 shots with 570 damage each, and still manage to have TL5 armor as well.
[editline]29th August 2013[/editline]
also, does a combat vessel need decent sensors? I got a sensor range of 490 Km
Just realised I can make a lot of stuff out of plastic rather than metal; that'll outright double the quality of a lot of my materials :D
[editline]edit[/editline]
But goddamn is it going to be a pain in the arse to change the manufacturing lines of my machine shops and plastic factories.
oh my god
why did I never see that. Thanks! it's so good it's lagging on my side :v:
shh it's a secret don't let the newbies find out
When manufacturing bullion, should I have each city make bullion or does it not matter much? The money i've made so far seems to have fairly evenly distributed between the cities through trade (except the moon base is filthy rich because of eludium :v:)
How do I refuel a Space Rocket using Hydrogen?
How do I refuel a Space Rocket using Hydrogen?
Press K on the pad iirc. You can do it off the pad as well, but it needs hydrogen from your inventory rather than city inventory.
Colonizing Inner and Outer worlds isn't much different from colonizing habitable ones, right? The only difference being ease of access to wildlife and morale modifiers?
Colonizing Inner and Outer worlds isn't much different from colonizing habitable ones, right? Some of them may have atmospheres too thin or dense to breathe, necessitating the same requirements as airless moons.

It's a good idea to make bullion in all cities so they have enough money to buy from traders.
Besides that, you always have plenty of spare jobs, you might as set them to make bullion.

Inner/Outer worlds don't give you officers. Apart from that, they are harsh environments, so they are more similar to colonising moons, inferno planets or frigid planets. Harsh environment planets don't get access to wildlife straight away for farming (cheese, milk, eggs, carcass) meaning you need to transport domesticated animals to the planet to get production going. As always, they also have a -1 morale modifier due to the harsh environment, and assuming they have an atmosphere thick enough to breath, it will be exotic and therefore poisonous.
finally got around to colonizing the neighboring system for its lumenite.
its in a system where all three planets are frigid and the star isnt even bright enough to light up the day side of anything but the first.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/ArK3jHk.png[/t]
had to do the whole thing in the dark without any colonists.
the end result is a 160 pop colony that produces high quality air and lumenite.
So er, how do I use the sensors in the aircraft terminal to scan the QL of the resources in the various sectors? I seem to have forgotten.
Are resources on moons rather similar to those on your home planet? I landed on a moon for the first time and saw stuff such as crystals and gems, but no eludium and lumenite.
Does that mean there is no eludium or lumenite on that moon, or might they just be located elsewhere on the surface? I need to know before I take the second mission into space.
Do things like weapon systems, sensor systems and that sort of equipment have to be in a player-accessible area, or can I safely put them in a completely sealed room on a ship? Trying to cut down on the amount of doors I need.

I found only one source on a distant moon when I surveyed it, though your results may vary.
Is there actually a Ringworld somewhere?
Is there actually a Ringworld somewhere?
Many, they generated pretty often before.
Though now with the new planet system, I don't think they actually generate, as they still old the new system
Starting to build my first warship, in the event of pirates spawning. Any tips? My current spacecraft manufacturing tech level is 2, though that'll soon be 3.
[editline]29th August 2013[/editline]
On a tangentially related note, it would be lovely if we could retexture or at least recolour the outer hull.

And choose where to put windows.
And choose where to put windows.
this, and the shape of the room rim.
my spaceships end up looking like a retarded sandwich...
So I'm building my first city, and I'm wondering, are all mines and buildings automatic, when I don't have any citizens yet?

No you can work them manually until you have a few houses and citizens
this is so pretty

Ships are due for an overhaul in a few months. All of this is planned.
Great, I am in limbo after buying lots of tech from someone and recalling home.
A view of the twin suns from my capital city.

It was going to be better, but I took too long trying to figure out how to hide the HUD elements :v:
