I don't think refueling is automatic, you should probably add it so it buys fuel on its delivering cycles. [editline]asd[/editline] You should come to the steam group chat, its where all the cool kids hang out.
I've set it so that it dedicates some of it's harvesting cycles to hydrogen, and for it to repair on the pad after selling (which I think also refuels). Hopefully that covers it. I'll probably get on the steam chat tomorrow, just sorting out a few things before going to sleep. [editline]2nd September 2013[/editline] Turns out repair order doesn't refuel, so had to recall the ship and add a buy hydrogen order. That should sort it. Ship currently ends up with 3000 out of 11000 fuel left after a mission cycle, which seems like a suitable safety margin.
There have been rumors on galactic of client-side interpolation being on the development time-table. I dunno how far back that would be, in that case. [editline]2nd September 2013[/editline] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/KIAe5qE.jpg[/img_thumb] fuck this gay earth
I can't believe I took almost all of my civilians' money just to build an absolutely massive sensor ship that would end up being sunk in the lava sea on its first mission.
if you bought it, it is a private ship and im pretty sure ive read those respawn.
I sort of took all their money to go buy technology to build the ship actually.
You'll be a fine emperor
Been stuck in limbo nearly the whole day :c (well, since I started playing today) Never going to try automatic atmosphere harvesting after that, that's for sure. My officer can go fuck himself on some desolate moon colony for all I care. Only problem is the gas giant has ~100QL cryozine, while the frigid and solid planets have some in the low 70s. Looks like i'm going to have to colonise another system, and that means setting up an automated trade route via ship since airport terminals and brokers don't trade with other systems iirc. [editline]2nd September 2013[/editline] Seems my character sorted itself out. Finally got the automated cryozine harvesting sorted out. Out of curiosity, will an officer-controlled ship automatically return to the nearest port to refuel if fuel drops below a certain percentage? I haven't got the harvesting times just right yet, and i'd rather not have to rescue the ship at some point if it runs out of fuel and the crew go all retarded.
Man, that sounds familiar... I set a ship to harvest, it ended up running out of fuel, getting pulled into the gas giant I was orbiting (I guess?), then I was limbo'd for a day before respawning on the other side of the galaxy. :v:
So I set up a town square, but when I tried to build a mine, it either told me there was no stone by the road, or that it was underwater. Any help?
So I set up a town square, but when I tried to build a mine, it either told me there was no stone by the road, or that it was underwater. Any help?
Move inland.
Move inland.
Ah, no, apparently I didn't bother to read up on roads needing to be actually constructed. Now if I could just figure out how to do layers since scrolling didn't work and it's awfully annoying having to constantly click run. [editline]2nd September 2013[/editline] Well, thanks to a kind soul, I got my first settlement starting to begin. Soon it'll be powered and it's coming along terrifically. Thought this game was going to be too complex for me but it's just about resource management. Nothing too bad, basically on par with SC4's level of difficulty. All about getting over that curve I suppose.
Now I can't see any of my mail :/
Now I can't see any of my mail :/
mail servers have been down since 4pm PST. makes managing an empire annoying as hell. not to mention puts the brakes on exploration pretty hard.
mail servers have been down since 4pm PST. makes managing an empire annoying as hell. not to mention puts the brakes on exploration pretty hard.
No wonder my mailbox is void of city reports. I was getting worried for a minute :v:.
I've been receiving mail just fine.
mail servers have been down since 4pm PST. makes managing an empire annoying as hell. not to mention puts the brakes on exploration pretty hard.
Think it's 5PM. I am in the PST time zone and my last message was at 5 pm
I've been receiving mail just fine.
Might be back up now. Sort of want to make a fake diary for my character for shits and giggles. Would be an interesting project at least.
So my officer was sitting in the captains chair of my ship, I wanted to sit down so I ordered the officer to get out of the chair. He got out. He walked off the bridge. I heard the sound of an airlock open. My officer was so heartbroken about being ordered out of the captain's chair he committed suicide by airlock!
Okay, I receive city reports just fine, but I don't get scan results even after restarting.
I'm not sure if this is adorable or horrifying. [t]http://gyazo.com/edfb38247fb0e4e766791a0ee1ab9bf5.png[/t]
Its pretty fun to build an empire with a bunch of your friends on teamspeak. It is called THE GRAND DUCHY OF ORK, and is called that because the person who owns the TS goes by the name orkimedies, so we named it after him. Everyone created their own race, and dear god, the horrors that where created are unspeakable.
so this thing has killed me twice through my vulcium power armor. [t]http://i.imgur.com/fwCMpW2.jpg[/t] slugcrab man is too stronk.
Was so happy to begin building my T5 shielded ship, only to realise my atmo harvester ship is T4 and therefore so was the cryozine it produced :/ Having to spend 45 minutes making another one.
Before you build it, make sure you have enough range on your harvesters, as they need to reach the core of the planet. If the planet has a diameter of 10000m, you'll need at least a 5000m range on the harvesters.
It's a gas giant with a diameter of 68,200. The harvester range is 5000m roughly, and that seems to be enough as my harvester ship returns with cryozine. [editline]3rd September 2013[/editline] It's slow as fuck though, so i'm going to have to colonise a new system to find a better source than the ~QL100 that the gas giant provides, and the ~70 the land planets provide.

Mail is back, and Haxus took a look at some of my Unis so he can fix the flashing Uni bug.
My officer doesn't appear to be "OK"'ing orders as they're completed, so it stays on the first order constantly even if I queue them up, and yes, the officer is currently in the captain's chair: Any ideas? The order is mostly a test, moving eludium from the main city to an outer colony for a bit of money.
Did you tell the officer to take the con? They'll sit in the captain's chair always when you're not in it, doesn't necessarily mean they'll do anything.
Wait you have to tell them to take the con and then they actually do their fucking job?
