Got bored of using variations of the Ori from Stargate, so going for a WH40k traitor legion. Hopefully the Blood Ravens or anyone else named after loyal Imperials don't notice me and start roleplaying :v:
[editline]edit[/editline]
Started on a world where 2 of the most common creatures can one-hit kill me, and are roughly the size of a large moose, assuming standard Glabrian height is equivalent to human avg. height.
Q244 carcasses, though
[editline]23rd April 2014[/editline]
Also getting some sort of regular lag spike i.e. I stop being able to move for a second in every 10 or so. Starting to drive me barmy.
I now want to RP as an Imperial Guard, just to find you >:D
Edit:
Made one, Time to rush T2 scanners to find the traitor legion >:3
Every planet I start with seems to be a gas giant moon with very little sunlight and dreadful creatures :/
I've published two starships and two spaceports designs. They should be available at design studios empire-wide.
TL-28 Québec-Class Navy Corvette - Cheap, reliable warship and troop transport with long-range sensors. Used in escort duties. Could be seen as the new "workhorse" of the Facepunch Navy and is given to new captains as a "rookie" ship. Suffers from lower than average fuel capacity, as the ship is not meant to operate far from friendly territory for extended periods of time. Warp 5 capable. Can be easily retrofitted to support a higher tech level.

TL-28 Montréal-Class Navy Cargo Shuttle - Based on the hull design of the Québec-Class, boasts surprising cargo space for its size and includes a complement of guards and turrets. Has no real weapon system to speak of but can rely on its extremely high acceleration and decent shields to get out of trouble. Includes passenger berths and a teleporter for colonization operations. Has slightly higher-than-average fuel capacity, and is meant to work in tangent with an escort vessel, acting as a fuel tanker in a pinch. Warp 5 capable. Can be easily retrofitted to support a higher tech level.

TL-28 Boisbriand-Class Navy Spaceport - Meant primarily as a weapons platform used as deterrence against potential attacks on important facilities, its secondary roles include acting as a resupply and refueling station, listening post and terminal for passenger vessels. Small ships (1-2 decks tall) can dock inside, but it's mostly meant for space transport shuttles. Generates strong shields and has a lower-than-average sensor range. Needs an officer to operate efficiently.

TL-28 Blainville-Class Civilian Spaceport - Basically the civilian version of the Boisbriand-Class spaceport, compared to its sister station it boasts an extremely high sensor range, extremely high shields and a good cargo capacity. So, got Q244 carcasses, but Q98 vegetation density :/
And here I was hoping to make some rather fine leather clothes for my citizens, along with great fabrics.
[editline]23rd April 2014[/editline]
If I want to use hay for animal carcasses, how many farms making hay should I have per carcass farm?
I call Winston Churchill for my next ship's name.
Getting the shit kicked out of me by the local wildlife :v:
2 are the size of mooses and are literally one-hit-kill bastards, one is a centipede lizard that spits acid, one is a red insect about half the height of a tree, one is about cat-sized, runs around incredibly fast and only seems to exist to prevent me buildings things :/
Once I get guns, there's going to be a goddamn genocide.
we could drop you a care package of guns if youd like
Nah, i'll have mountains of Kalashnikovs in a minute. If you've got a spare suit of metal power armour (or any sort, if you've got a spare), that'd help a lot with my survivability :v:
[editline]23rd April 2014[/editline]
Oh christ, that's what I forgot, metal armour. Need to start churning that shit out to equip my military (currently equipped with leather pyjamas and hammers :v:)
this is why soldier are a thing, so you can have them follow you around and commit genocide on the all the animals.
At the end of roughly 12 hours, here's the state of my first city. Much longer roads stretch across the continent for oil and coal.
On a related note, what's the most efficient way of making fertilizer? Need quite a lot of it for explosives and ammunition, the current route of using hydrogen in a refinery doesn't seem to be particularly effective.

Your world is so green.
I got really into this ages ago but had to quit after the planetary update fucked over my infrastructure I had spent hours building.
Is it worth getting back into? I was pretty pissed, had just established my first colony in a new system and completed my first T8 ship

I would wait for the ship update. (I am waiting for the ship update.)
I decided to download this and try it out, however, I have massive mouse input lag. It takes literally an entire second after moving my mouse for the game to actually change my view. And the game itself isn't lagging, just my mouse input is delayed. Any ideas on how to fix this? It's unplayable for me in this state.
we need a source of TL32 ioplasma if anybody wants to help out.
We've found another (5 arc) ringworld. We claimed it due to proximity.
Beyonce's Star (here is it's anthem) now hosts the city of Madonna, soon to be Rhianna and Shakira.
I'm waiting for any future updates before bothering to head on again, but I still feel the problem with this is there's literally no interaction with other empires now.
Got 2 moon bases set up today; here's one I could be bothered taking a picture of. Never noticed how odd they look from orbit until now.

Should probably move the landing slabs out of the crater, my ship always refuses to land in them for some reason unless I specify the exact coordinates.
[editline]26th April 2014[/editline]
Those of you with military experience, are military weapon bases a good defence? Should they be concentrated around cities, or can they be spread out across the planet surface for maximum coverage?
I usually put weapon bases close to the flag.
All the imports in NeoCAS appear to be borked, no elidium is coming to Radian, and I want to build my ship, and nothing over TL28 is even being made.
We're trying to fix that.
Well, tell me when its fixed because right now I can't build any ships.
ill grab some eludium in a minute.
I have been having horrid lag lately, can't even chop down a tree with my fists
We have a sector that is so laggy we have to go around it.
We have a sector that is so laggy we have to go around it.
I may just have to restart... I thought choosing new sector might help but apparently not
We have a sector that is so laggy we have to go around it.
worst part is its our crystals.
:suicide:
What's the advantages of using different kinds of weapon systems on military bases? Say, if I stockpiled missiles, would they do more damage to a target than cannons or lasers? Which has the longest range?
I didn't actually know you could get different weapons for those...
