:words: I did warn you guys that haxus was crazy. Maybe it was his wife holding another intervention.
Guys, the servers are still up. Until we get some official word from haxus on the matter, we can assume it was just a hacker trying to fuck with us.
I was excited to play this when I got my computer, goddamn it. I do hope that this doesn't just die off. And if it is a hacker then that is a dick move.
noooooooooooooo

Or just that the servers themselves are merely online? If it has been compromised, not going to risk logging in for the moment, even if they're unlikely to get any important info.

One way or the other, I've had some good times. If it turns out to be a false-positive well that's just bonus.
it may just be the message when he shuts down the servers and he's currently integrating something big.
Ikkir's gonna call him now, just to see what's up. [editline]welp[/editline] Calls were called, it's legit.
Heyas all, here to confirm it. Haxus was bordering on this for awhile and finally decided it was too much (stress + financial drain, too much for one person). He is going to work on smaller things for awhile, like possibly Gravity Well 2. Thanks for Playing.
Haxus wrote: Shores of Hazeron is not shutting down. This is way too much fun to quit now. No overt attempt was made to "thin the herd". What happened is behind; the future lies ahead. There is no back, only forward.
What is anything anymore
Now the search is on for something similar, I guess.
What is anything anymore
That's a post from 2012.
I don't suppose that leaves a small possibility that he might want to work on the game again some day?
Its possible, but would be after he has acquired funding and support, however that may be.
:(!
Yup. HES DEAD JIM
Well, RIP. We had fun while it lasted over the past few years. Sieg Syndicate.
Made ainbenhartache rage out on the forums by calling out his BS. We suspect he ended up deleting the hazeron forums as a result. Good times. That final thread was amazing.
Sometimes I wish I could code since the games I end up liking are either unfinished, buggy, multiplayer-only and lifeless, or entirely dead.
I wish he would just release the source code and let the community that's left continue with it. I doubt Haxus will continue it again.
Wow this was unfortunate. I saw this thread getting bumped and was ready to give it a try again after like 2 years.
Fourms are down. I highly doubt we'll ever see a game like Hazeron for a very long time. Probably never unless Haxus releases the source.
Rest in peace hazeron. Too bad that it would get shut down so soon after major lag improvements.
and people are now going to fix his financial problem by throwing money at him.
I'm REALLY glad he didn't open-source the game and instead is going to keep it dead forever on some hard drive never to be seen again. This really is a tragedy and it's made even more-so by Haxus never actually sharing any information about the game or even trying to actively start a community around his game. It's just such a backwards ideology for someone who was trying to make the biggest MMO in the world.
and people are now going to fix his financial problem by throwing money at him.
He wouldn't get enough money to cover the server costs even with that. I gave haxus a call - basically it was too much work for one man; too ambitious, too much scope, too much stress and a pretty high financial cost for hosting what was basically his personal hobby for people.

I logged in exactly once, this Tuesday. [editline]15th August 2014[/editline] A+ timing on my part.
I really hope something happens that helps to bring this back, it seemed like it was a really unique concept, and seemed really fun.
