Actually, yeah, I just looked back at some cutscenes on youtube and it seems like the lipsync is only really bad in the very first intro cutscene in DR1, at times it looks like they're both having a stroke when talking, later on it seems fine. I haven't been able to get very far into DR1 since I'm having the saving issue.
well it seems that the recurring nightmares i've been having about the bomb collection mission for the last 10 years ago weren't exaggerating, its still fucking hard
Bring mini chainsaws and Carlito goes down easy. Also pull up a guide map and ignore the arrows.
I think DR2 looks more dated because a lot of the characters have more 'grit' to their faces where as a lot of the DR1 characters were expressive to the point of being cartoonish. Chucks resting face is just 'scowl' ffs.
Also it could be a lightning thing. Maybe they were going for that 'Vegas during the day' feel but when it's bright out in Fortune City everything has this off yellow tinge.

When you first enter the parking garage wait around by the entrance for carlito to drive up, then get him to crash into a wall so you can whack him with melee weapons (small chainsaw). After he dies you will get a cutscene that places you next to a working vehicle that you can use to quickly drive around (ignoring guide arrows) to the bombs.

The guide arrow will direct you to the very back end of the parking garage, so it's best to ignore it and just visit each little parking area on the map in one circuit.

is piss easy if you have the maintenance tunnel key, you can get in the elevator to refresh the cars and killing carlito is real easy with a katana

where is the cheapest place to get dead rising 3? g2a is sketchy as fuk
So is it better to just not use the guide arrow at all? It sounds like it leads you down the worst path most of the time.
I still have nightmares about Adam and his mini-chainsaws.
The Mini Chainsaws with the matching skillbooks make the game almost trivial. Next playthrough I am going to try to not use them at all, or at the very least not use the skillbooks.
I've been playing these past few days using nothing but the trusty mannequin torso
That's why I've been only abusing the minichain saws sparingly. I usually try to carry only one skill book at a time.

You
Came to VANDALIZE
my STORE, HUH?
it's weird in retrospect that a japanese game managed to get such strong (cheesy, but strong) voice acting from an english cast
but i guess it helps that english was the only version of the game so it got more focus
Cliff was really the only psychopath that was realistic. Had a small story to go with his insanity and it made sense .

Adam was the most iconic psychopath in my opinion. Dude gave me nightmares when I was younger.

his death is straight up fucked
its too much, kind of makes me wince every time i see it
So i played dr1 for an hour or so and so far it seems inferior to dr2 in every way. Does something change or do i just have different taste than all the people i hear buzzing about how dr1 is the best?
Keep playing. DR2 started out strong but it peters out the longer you play it, whereas DR1 starts slow and it gets better the more you play
Alright, I'll do that. Although DR:OTR for me was perfection. Well, maybe not literally, but i really really liked it. Didn't peter out for me. I definitely won't give up on DR1 just yet though.

you don't have a different taste
you have a brain tumor

must have read too many of your posts :pudge:
Dead Rising 1 has more of a focus on restarting with your current progress than 2 imo
Helps that it only has one save file.
Is that still the case in the rerelease? I kinda liked that about the original.

Sort of. From what I can tell you basically get 5 save slots but you can't use more than one save slot for a single game. Think it's so people can simultaneously do two different playthroughs at once.

I've been able to save on all five slots using the exact same playthrough.

On ps4 it hooks into the system so I seem to have an unlimited amount of saves? That's real weird if that's true
finally

Finally got through DR1. Good shit, it's been a long time since I've finished it, and I can see why. It's kind of bullshit at times, but overall it's still a good game.
Now to go through DR2 again. I'm not sure if I want to vanilla or OTR. OTR is more polished, but I want to play as Chuck again.

You should try the coop, the one thing I never got properly working.
