I had to download a trainer to beat overtime mode because the game fucked me. Have all the items, running back to the safe zone to hand them over. Suddenly SF. Disembowel them, literally, but end up with a single brick of health. Panic and bunny hop to safety. Hand them over, cutscene, oh my fucking god. Teleported to the penultimate area. I'm in a literal SEA of zombies with a single bar of health, and you can't go back. Tried upwards of 15 times, felt like a realism mode. Zombie bites my throat out, instant death. Downloaded trainer, gave max health, finished it, deleted trainer. Still feel guilty.
finally
Is there any other feasible way to get it besides maintenance tunnels? All the time put in on console and never found another method.
Dead Rising 1 has more of a focus on restarting with your current progress than 2 imo
I think I restarted DR2 like twice maybe to get free levels at the very beginning, but I wouldn't have even bothered had Case Zero been on PC. That game's much easier at low levels than DR1 by comparison, doesn't help that two feet out of the safe room gives you the means to get weapons that give you PP every time you whack a zombie instead of every 50 you kill. Then fucking DR3 happened and I never once restarted, killing a good majority of psychopaths the very first time around, and I expect DR4 to be the same.
Is there any other feasible way to get it besides maintenance tunnels? All the time put in on console and never found another method.
Unlikely, if not impossible.
Unlikely, if not impossible.
Shame. Game is fun as hell but doing maint runs just for that was tedious. I guess the Mega Man cannon could help though not sure if it pierces through enemies?
You should try the coop, the one thing I never got properly working.
I played a decent amount of co-op back when it still ran on GFWL. Getting it started was a total nightmare.

Running ultra fast while turbo firing the convicts machinegun in the maintenance tunnel is pretty fucking fun in itself.
Oh wait you mean if using it would be a way to do zombie genocider without doing tunnel runs? Maybe, but it's a moot point since you have to have the achievement in the first place before you can get the real megabuster.
I played a decent amount of co-op back when it still ran on GFWL. Getting it started was a total nightmare.
It was easier for me with GFWL than post steam patch, people can't connect to me, I can't connected to them, and only 1 person I managed to connect to while they couldn't connect to me, and at this point no ones ever connected to my game.
i wish they semi-updated dead rising 2 with a native windowed/fullscreen option instead of having to resort to debug mode.
Shame. Game is fun as hell but doing maint runs just for that was tedious. any easy way to get the 1000 zombies with your fists achievement?
any easy way to get the 1000 zombies with your fists achievement?
Make some untouchable shakes (combine pie + orange juice) go down to maintenance tunnels, swig it back and then start double lariating the shit out of the undead.
There's a melee book where you beat cliff that can help
does the damage feel fucked up to anyone i don't remember being able to kill brock in like 3 knee drops
I only noticed this when I replayed this, but I never noticed the subtle nuisances with Frank's running. You either got his normal goofy limp run, but if you're near zombies he changes his animation to a more frantic run. Same goes for his injured run and his near zombie injured run. It's details like this that separate DR1 from its sequels.
to be fair, dead rising 3 also does that and it's kinda rad. nick also tends to change his facial expression to freaking out whenever a giant horde is after him.
dead rising 3 had some really cool tech behind it that would have made an awesome entry into a new zombie series dealing with huge zombie hordes instead of an entry into a long running light hearted series the grimdark serious tone would have fit better under another IP, it's a little hard to take nick freaking out over a giant horde seriously when you know you can turn around and fly into them, slicing them up with boxing glove knives
i'm not sure if "grimdark" is the word i'd use for it. dr3 is def super light hearted and doesn't take itself seriously at all
i played through it once on release and never touched it again, so i dont really remember it too well, but grimdark is exactly the word i'd use for it, especially with the narrative. it took itself very seriously, even if the gameplay didn't. that was my big problem with it. maybe my memory's so foggy and it did try to be funny, but failed miserably. [editline]21st September 2016[/editline] i mean the aesthetic alone was ech
i'm not sure if "grimdark" is the word i'd use for it. dr3 is def super light hearted and doesn't take itself seriously at all
I think it's the way it's set up. Dead Rising 1 presents itself with that classic Capcom B-movie charm where the characters are in a serious situation but do ridiculous things without batting an eye (yet are more than capable of dying horribly). It's in on the joke, but it pretends not to be most of the time. 2 ups the stakes, but also ups the more batshit parts of the plot intentionally to hold even, which felt less B-movie and more deliberately self-aware, especially Chuck himself, which creates a radically different feeling. I didn't play 3, but it seems a lot like it doesn't know what it wants to be; a serious yet shlocky B-movie killathon, or an ultra-ridiculous game with teddy bear turrets and a puking psychopath on a scooter vomiting everywhere to attack you. And at this point it seems like after that small crisis of identity, DR4 is basically going the Saints Row route and abandoning almost all pretenses of taking itself seriously.
:what: No way, I gotta see for myself on this current run I'm doing
You have to take a lot of pictures of her in order for it to trigger.
You can also cause it by taking pictures of Jessie when she's tending to Brad. Speaking of character reaction to the environment Nick does have some just not through body language. In the beginning of the game Nick has a lot of scared comments on the situation "oh shit" when he sees a crowd "cmon cmon" when he's running away "that was close" if he's safely away. It doubles as character development because as the game goes on and you get stronger he sounds more confident to the point he taunts crowds of zombies at times.
Did DR3 ever elaborate on [sp]the cure taken from Nicks blood.[/sp] I never played three but it has me wondering if DR4 might completely revamp [sp]what causes the zombies, depending on the cure being delivered as an inoculation or if you HAVE to be infected for the cure to work.[/sp] Dunno if I need tags for a three year old game I guess.
They do actually. [sp] Carlitos made one orphan (Nick) immune to the infection in the off chance that something went wrong or he changed his mind on his plan [/sp] iirc. Not too in depth but hey It could also be that [sp] Isabella wanted to prophet off it like that one lady who made zombrex in case west. She tricked Nick so she could get the cure and clear her family name since Carlitos went down as a Bio terrorist so perhaps she's waiting for the highest bidder?[/sp]

She was treated like shit afterward.[/sp]
