Honestly I'd recommend waiting. Pretty much every amiibo is starting to become more and more common as stores actually manage to stock them. Lucina, Robin, and Ike should get their time to shine soon.

Do you guys think it's worth it to pay full price or more for an Amiibo if you don't even play the game it's for? I'm being very tempted by some of the Pokemon and R.O.B. figures as of late, and I've been sorely debating with myself whenever I come across a Lucario or Greninja by chance at TRU. If I were to bite, should I be smarter and save cash by hunting down an opened one or something? Or is the rarity of these things making such intentions near impossible?

Figure rarity, just like any collection, really plays a big role as time goes on especially if the company stops making the product.
I wouldn't say Nintendo will stop making these amiibos anytime soon, but the amount of supply they provide is very low.
Imo, you're better off spending the full price (12-15) then trying to get cheaper deals.

Not to mention that most people that open their amiibos probably don't have the intention of selling them.
People who do want to sell their amiibos always keep them closed.
Get what you want yo, they're nicely made little figurines. Amiibo Festival is a slog to play a lot of the time but I still intend on getting most of the collection because I love animal crossing.
The only one I want is Isabelle and they packaged her with the game exclusively...

I bought more amiibo during the black friday sale at GAME. weirdly there wasn't much actual customers though since everyone went in with their kids. every amiibo were at 11.99 except for the newer ones (falco+yarn yoshis), Splatoon and animal crossing. held off getting Falco though since it was pretty crowded and people wanted their discount consoles right away. [sp]was almost THIIS close to getting Chronophantasma Extend LE for like 27 quid, but i have the Vita version anyway. vita+ps3 versions is discounted down to £19[/sp]
