I bought falcon the other day because I really wanted the mario kart suit, didn't even know some amiibos were rare.
They also only had one of them left, and now I can't even find commons in stores near here, this is the first time I've seen something like this happen.

The new 3DS's support NFC, but Sm4sh does not. I can give my Amiibo a nickname and set myself as its owner, but it doesn't actually do anything in Sm4sh.

They all have different training routines too. Faux is trained exclusively against me as Fox on FD, Stink is trained against every character except Link on random non-omega stages, and Spamus has been taught to comically overuse missiles and the charge shot, and to grab items at all costs. They're not all fully raised to 50 yet, so I have yet to make them fight eachother and see whose gimmick is the best.
I will make my Pikachu focus solely on his down special with the goal to annoy every person who has the misfortune to end up near him.

So, while looking through the purchase info on amazon, I stumbled upon their international rates and import dues (shit's like $50 for one-week) and had a minor heart attack
How is it the Pit amiibo was so cheap if it's shipping from Japan? Are they covering the dues themselves or are they doing some weird bullshit with amazon so the buyer isn't stuck with it or something? I don't want to find out later this thing actually cost $70, because jesus.

I think they would tell you the full total that you need to pay at checkout. If not you've gotten me scared as well.

I'm going to try to get Dedede, Lucario, Luigi, and Fox. If there's ever a wave 4, I hope it has Wario.
The Amiibo figures are plain hard to find around here still, I was lucky to get a Yoshi and Pikachu for Christmas, my folks only found one of each in the whole town.
Zelda, and Luigi are the only Amiibos available at my local Ebgames.
And knowing how Nintendo usually deals with Canada, i can completely forget about getting more of the wave 2 fellas.

@below, I just picked up capt falcon at a gamestop. dude left the shipment box on top of a display and walked away before putting them out, snagged the best condition of three, and my friends got pit (I wanted it too) and another captain. I put the last capt on the rack for the sake of it, and a group came up behind me and were ecstatic to find him, seems a few of them wanted it. woo

I live in Hong Kong, turns out we don't have the rare amiibo problem here. All the packaged Amiibos are from one store and they had at least 4 extras of each one
