Most likely they are releasing it in small batches at a time.
I hope future Pokeman games will have amiibo support.
I won't be able to handle a Pokemon series of amiibos.

I don't think anyone would be able to catch em all.

Does anyone know what's up with selling people selling amiibos off amazon for a really cheap price, but real expensive shipping? Is the seller getting any of the shipping money or what? It's like this.
It's so they show up first if you sort by Price (Excluding Shipping) People see a crazy low price and they impulse buy. Seller makes more sales meaning more money. [editline]29th May 2015[/editline] Shipping is sent to them to cover shipping costs in certain cases. They can easily overshoot shipping cost and keep the difference without declaring it. Also it's possible they didn't pay for it, and are trying to spin it quick.
It's so they show up first if you sort by Price (Excluding Shipping) People see a crazy low price and they impulse buy. Seller makes more sales meaning more money.
Alright, I figured it must be something like that, thanks.
Had 5 browser windows open, two different computers, Check4Change running, staggered refreshing. Neither Robin or Lucina ever showed up, even when I knew it was up. Apparently Amazon's servers don't update all at the same time, so for the 17 seconds Lucina was up if you were connected to an Amazon server that hadn't updated their listings you flat out would not see the item. I managed to order a Robin from TigerDirect but knowing that site they probably oversold again. I did get charged + a confirmation email though, so here's hoping.
Got the splatoon 3 pack while refreshing my phone spamming it at work. I was convinced I wouldn't make it because my shitty phone + LTE I thought I would lose it. BUT I FUCKIN GOT IT
I really didn't expect to get anything today. I just waltzed into Fry's at 12 o clock. Nobody around but Silver Mario and Splatoon were right there. They also had the Splatoon amiibo 3-pack but i didn't have any more money on-hand. Later in the day I randomly checked my phone and I saw it was 2 and I remembered Pac Man's time on Amazon, and I had spare Amazon gift card money. So I checked for PacMan's amiibo, and he was there and it was from Nintendo at normal price so I purchased it immediately. I checked on Twitter and apparently the minute I checked was when Amiibo News JUST posted it went up. I was pretty lucky today.
Was planning on going TRU Friend told me Target was line miles long Thought TRU was going to be worse Decided to go to Best Buy since it doesn't have a new exclusive and I need a MK Got in line second. Other guy was there since 4 AM Turns out MK was a lie and no retailer had MK in a 100 mile radius. They tell us stock and... [t]http://i.imgur.com/TfzL3Oe.jpg[/t] Sold the Splatoon stuff to friends, the rest is on my shelf and looks beautiful. Definitely the good choice was going to BB. I feel bad for 3rd in line because he got in line only about 30 seconds after me yet me and the guy in front got the only 2 Lucina and Robins they had. I at least let him pose with them so he could lie to his friends. Actually a few people wanted to get pics of them because they were so rare. And still got Ness and Pac coming in the mail. Also I don't want to double post to ask these 2 questions, but can someone let me know what's the best way for getting an amiibo out of it's package without messing up the box too much? My Wario amiibo came out perfectly but he was barely sealed in. On the other hand Lucina and Robin were tightly packed and I thrashed the box in the process. Is there some steam method or something?
I ended up getting Pac today, and scavenging through eBay for Lucy and Robin. Apparently someone thinks people are going to buy the boxes of the Mario set + DK and MP10. It hurts too, because Toad's box was part of the set.

It's like this.
Usually places like eBay takes a cut of the money as a hosting fee. it doesn't cover things like potentially free shipping so the cost is normally out of the buyer's pocket based on what they choose. heck, some places in china produce...unusual items at a grossly cheap price and asks for $30/whatever. So Ness came today!!

I went to TRU yesterday and some guy in a japanese Yoshi shirt was there. He talked over everyone and kept bringing Jojo up for some reason. Nother guy said "Yeah I watched Jojo" and the dude just started screaming WRYYYYYYYYYY as loud as he can and talking about reddit- everyone in the line including the children just... stared at him. Was just like christ... and things only got better as a car drove by, window lowered and these two super obese ladies were in it. They then began to scream at how I'm a dirty scalper and I'm going to "go to fucking hell" because I was one of the first in line. I got GREG though so I guess it worked out though
Is there a sort of rule of thumb when it comes to buying Amiibos for Smash? I'm tempted to pick up an Amiibo but im unsure who I should get, do I get the character I main? Or do I get someone else that I'm shit at? I'm really confused with these things, I don't intend to buy more than one either (is the point of these things to collect then? I see a lot of people posting their collections here).
just get whoever you like the most really. I'm not really collecting, but I'm getting the characters I like

(that i know of) You have the really commons like Pikachu and Mario, they tend to fill up due to Nintendo knowing they're sure sellers just from recognition. indirectly there might be a slight glut of Peach/Yoshis, but strangely not so much Luigi or Zelda. it might even be popularity, weirdly Zelda herself seems rarer than Link. everything beyond the first 2 or so waves are weird, the last time i saw new amiibo in the wild was around Bowser's/Super Mario Bros-variant's release; even the recent waves was pretty hardhitting. Samus/Fox feels extremely uncommon, even moreso than Link, however Captain Falcon is rarer though Kirby is sketchy...he looks common but has Smash Popularity behind him, then there's the holy trinity (Villager, Little Mac and Marth) supposedly they might be getting a restock in summer; maybe to partially coincide with Code Name STEAM...they'll probably need them to pad out the thin Dr Mario/Bowser Jr/Olimar wave... Greninja & Jigglypuff. Ness, Robin, Lucina, Charizard, Pac-Man and Wario. the former 3 has popularity because of Smash or their home series, Charizard was assumed to be a rare like Diddy but might be slightly common, Pac-Man is weird....at least Wario might be something of a perscieved common. in Greninja/Jigglypuff's case even the GAME website somehow lost the release date and they've been greyed out (in price/newness) for a while now as the next 2 waves became preorderable. there's also prices, think Argos tends to price the older ones at about £10, same with Amazon. however GAME prices at around 14.99 each...sounds extreme, however from wave 5 (6?) people from outside the UK won't be able to use shipping to the US or by PO boxes which might make obtaining them better in the UK, might possibly be nice if Amazon isn't a choice or if you want something local. got like £40 saved up in reward points from preorders and whatever. (not necessarily all amiibo-related)
Get ones you like personally. People who nab stuff based on value alone are part of the problem, I'm not going to sugar coat that I'm sorry. Also it CAN be beneficial to get a character you're not good at fighting (a matchup you have problems with, for me it's Toon Link as Ganondorf), because they start out terrible and gradually get better and better as you beat them. By the time they're level 50 they might not seem as impossible as you thought, and you get two things out of it: a level 50 amiibo to fight others you have, and valuable experience in fighting that character as they actively learn from and try to outdo you.

It's an old trick, that's why Amazon sorts by price+shipping instead of price
get me one and I'll mail you a pacman or charizard for it Edit: He's the only amiibo I'll ever need anymore
Just took a ride up there today, apparently they all sold out throughout the course of yesterday after the initial rush.
Daaaaamn Can't find anyone wanting to take pacman or charizard (nor even 2:1) for greninja, even though greninja seems to have been stocked way more
I'd train my amiibo more if it weren't for the fact that their base attack rises as they level up.
I'd train my amiibo more if it weren't for the fact that their base attack rises as they level up.
What I usually do is this: - First Match: Same character as the amiibo, 20 stock. - Second Match: Your main, 20 stock. - Third/Fourth Match: A level 50 amiibo, 30/40 stock.
I'd train my amiibo more if it weren't for the fact that their base attack rises as they level up.
Is this confirmed? My amiibo aren't doing any more damage than normal at level 50, at least from what I can tell. And one of them is Ike, so you think it'd be the easiest thing in the world to tell.
Do you guys think Wario will be a common in the future? I really want to get him but I can't anytime soon.
Do you guys think Wario will be a common in the future? I really want to get him but I can't anytime soon.
Him and Pacman seem to be the more common ones of the batch, with Charizard being uncommon and Robin/Lucina being rare/unicorn.
My walmart had 4 pacman 4 charizard and nothing else
