So will the Yarn Yoshi amiibo work as a regular Yoshi amiibo in other games like Smash Bros?
I know they're detected differently in Woolly World so they must have different code or something but I don't know how that NFC magic works so it might be possible?

Just won an Ebay auction: Ness amibo for 17 euros/19 dollars

Fuck, Mr. Game & Watch will come with different poses and will be 2D. Also R.O.B., Duck Hunt, and Falco with G&W will be out in September.
I guess they added the Game and Watch poses as to make the production cost around the same as other amiibo and to not overproduce a shitload of em'.
I can't wait for DHD to be exclusive and $200.

Maybe that 8-bit one is bundled with Mario Maker, like Chibi Robo and Splatoon everywhere except for the US.

You can save a level to it so a friend can tap it into their game and play it.

I just saw the letters Res. written on the pricetag, which may stand for reserviert (German: reserved).

I figure that you probably don't want to return him, but is it possible to go back to the store ask them if the amiibo really was reserved for someone else just to play it safe?

It's not like they can make you give it back, but I wouldn't risk that anyways. Some inept employee probably accidentally put it on the shelf.
Alright now before i get lynched by the facepunch-cavalry, i visited the store again and asked them about it.
Apparently that wave's release date was a few weeks ago and most of them were sold to those who reserved them.
There were a few orders though which haven't been completed to this date: (Has been cancelled by the costumer, they didn't receive the money etc.)
More than 2 weeks later the store decided to put said amiibos on the shelves, making it avaible for everyone.
However putting the Ness amiibo on the shelf was a mistake. They confused the article-numbers and now they have to tell the costumer that they accidentally gave his amiibo away. (He also told me that i should keep my Amiibo because of stock reasons idunno?)
So now it looks like i have murdered a child and it was not entirely my fault :v:.

Reminds me of how I got my Ike because some people never picked up their pre orders. Amiibo hunts are savage bloodsports.
It's okay I killed a child too.
I pre-ordered Ike after the cut-off point and got super butthurt. Went to grab Dedede and the others and they pulled a Ike out and handed it to me cause I had him ordered and I ran out of the store.

These new Amiibo are going to kill me.
I did find a Silver Mario at a local GameStop, so that's cool. But TRU bent the hell out of my Greninja box so I'm also hella sad. I just want to open them. :(
I managed to get a Robin and Luigi from GAME a few hours ago, apparently Meta Knight blipped for a little while before selling out. still think it's kind of extreme that there's 6 different Mario amiibo, would be kind of bad if eisting Marios can't be used to spawn Big Mushrooms in SMM. cauciously optimistic about the game, if there's a conventional story mode with world maps for substance with the player-created levels on the side, it probably won't look as gougy as Tipping Stars.
Seen WFT and Link in SMM, but they didn't seem like the physics were altered at all, which is kind of a shame, a bit i liked in Super Meat Boy was that forcing a character enabled people to enforce limits on how they move about a stage, Link being default small w/3 hits and a gravity-defying beam could be pretty cool. if stages can't move left in SMB mode and there was transitions to other modes mid-stage, that would be really amazing.
