So, I live in CT, and Nintendo World isn't that far away and I could probably drive up there one weekend. Has anyone been there lately, or at least sometime in the past few months, and how is their stock of amiibos? Do they carry retailer exclusive stuff like Shulk? Or are they jammed with Zeldas and Marios and no Villagers and the like?
I really, really want a Shulk amiibo, especially since it works with Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and I take nearly every amiibo out of the box anyways. Through a friend I managed to snag a new in box Marth with English cover art, so worst case scenario I could try trading but I'm always wary of being scammed somehow and I'd rather just buy from a retailer. I'm definitely not going to succumb to $40 scalpers, maybe $20 or less I'd jump on it but come on. So, if there's still stuff at Nintendo World I'd jump at the chance but gas isn't cheap and it'd take basically the whole day to get there and back.
Nintendo World has all of the rarer amiibos at [i]almost[/i] all times and is the best stocked place in NA regions. It's absurd.

Well shit. Even retailer exclusive ones? Fuck me, might as well give it a shot. At the very least there's at least one vintage/rare video game store in the surrounding area I could stop by if things are a bust.

don't make a huge trip for them. they only get the stock in irregularly and it goes by fast. check their twitter for updates, but they are currently just stocked in commons and uncommons, no unicorns.

Is it in any way possible to buy Rosalina, Ness, Fox, etc. unicorn amiibo in your country without buying from scalpers?
So i went down to my local GAME today. surprisingly they restocked on Amiibo. there's still the latest wave (Ganondorf, ZSS, Palutena and Dark Pit) with Diddy, Kirby, Zelda, Bowser, Pikachu, Charizard and SMB Luigi. already had the former 3 so i just got Dark Pit and MM3D. wonder if they got more than just those amiibo.

Let's put it this way. I live close to multiple outlets and I have yet to see any wave 4 amiibo outside of the release day. This includes inkling, Pac man, Charizard, Wario, and Silver Mario.
These days over in the states, there are shelves full of Mario, Bowser, SMB Bowser, Peach, SMB Peach and not much else. Maybe a light peppering of Toon Link or SMB Yoshi depending on the store.

Just my local TRU, unfortunately. They're the only ones that have a big enough display to show characters that aren't the really common ones.

I went into a Gamestop asking if they were getting either of these in.
The one I went to has never even received a Ness.
They checked the other stores and no one was getting any amiibo in at all.
