it's more that the only contact with the base is a small set of legs, leaving a lot of weight way off-center from that point. In all likeliness there'll just be one big square peg under his belly to offset that.

At a Toys R Us near where I live they had like 7 kirby's and all of them (stand included) were flying around the plastic prisons desperate to escape. I kinda wondered how that happened to so many of em.

maybe a bad misalignment in the packaging process (how does that get past QA though), OR some bored kid decided to push really hard on the box from the underside til they popped
I hope they release more info on the Amiibo functionality for 3DS soon, I have a Captain Falcon Amiibo but no WiiU, so atm it's just for decoration.

I'm now really glad I didn't even hesitate in getting Fox early.
He seemed to be common enough for a while (I would always see 3-5 per store at least), but within a day of the rumor spreading that he's getting axed, all of them disappeared.
I don't feel I'm missing out on fox, every single one I found in stores was scuffed to shit or had badly trimmed plastic fringes along the side of his snout.

also look how far the lighter paint extends above his eyebrow, that's not just misalignment, that's completely buggered sizing
This is also why I don't want to order things online, because every single one I've bought so far I had to dig through a handful (if not all of the store's stock) of models to ensure the one I buy doesn't look like it fell on the floor during production. Peaches in particular seemed to have a LOT of dark scuffs on the hip of their skirt, that segment of darker pink. Pikachus have a bunch of paint flecks (even the one I got had a little black spot that I overlooked), link and zelda's faces and some outfit details are often misaligned (marth looked to suffer the same but I never saw one in person)
there's just so many manufacturing quirks (which are admittedly common in mass produced models this size), but it drives me up a wall given the amiibos are so high profile. I'd rather they charge a few more bucks in exchange for tightening up production quality
Same here, i got Yoshi and Fox lastweek on Monday, the shop i went to only had Diddy, Luigi, Yoshi, Mario, Pikachu, Link and Fox. everyone else was sold out, brother did want Link and Captain Falcon but they ran out of Falcons. i go with the logic that Diddy is a secondary character but is less popular than Yoshi but Luigi would probably be more supplied due to being a popular primary character. in a series like Smash, Mario despite being the figure head, isn't as popular as a fighter or possibly a character when smash has things like Captain Falcon who indirectly would have lower production rates...or maybe Mario really sells but shipments of Amiibos are in mixed boxes, skewing towards higher numbers of Popular Nintendo characters but not popular [i]smash[/i] characters which is some sort of advertising paradox since initially Amiibos were aimed towards Smash fans. (which makes Captain Falcon, Fox and Marth unusual)

think my next buys might be Rosalina, Sheik and Toon Link. later probably Sonic+Mega Man (because being 3rd party probably has iffy rights/total production issues) and Shulk or Meta Knight...all that i know is Mr Game&Watch is one of my high instabuys, and maybe a Zelda.

So are they really going to do this? Every wave they only make one batch of 3 amiibos and stop making them? Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, and Marth I could understand because Nintendo thought they had little popularity. But Pit, Captain Falcon , and Little Mac are highly popular characters that people wanted the moment they were announced for wave 2. I know they are not discontuined, more like not being produced right now. But still, there should be more then one production period before stopping the figures from being made.

The only major issue I see with it is something I tried to do to it. I tried to pen in the black lips to add a bit of definition but it applied misaligned and now I can't erase it. Fuck.

Thinking about putting in a pre-order for Toon Link and Bowser, think those are sound choices? I'm also thinking about getting Smash 3DS to with my WiiU copy instead because the soundtrack and Mewtwo DLC are enticing and can't choose which to go for.

Nah not going for them being rare, I just don't want to scramble to pick them up when they're out. I think I'll go with the amiibos and just buy the DLC later on.

Is anybody familiar with Walmart's Pre-order shipping thing? It's letting me choose free shipping, yet it's charging $2 for pre-order shipping and I don't quite understand.

It makes sense honestly. Marth is Ike's friend so he stuck his face in a hot vat of oil so he wouldn't hurt said friends self esteem.
The rounded sword is in case it fell on someone. Ike thinks about everyone.
