I saw a few Greninja at Best Buy when I went hunting a few days ago.
I bought Shulk, Greninja, and Lucario at BB the other day, the former being GS exclusive and the latter 2 being TRU exclusive.

US, and I'm going to say exclusives are first run only because I saw and got Shulk at Best Buy and my girlfriend saw him at Toys R Us
Except Villagers case where the restock is now exclusive making him a exclusive now.

There were so many shulks at mine they had no more room and had a cart with some behind the counter

IIRC. The bundle comes with the Green Yoshi in it's own box like the other 2 colors. Which makes me question why they just couldn't sell it separately.

The Super Mario Maker Bundle I bought had the Modern 30th Mario in a retail box like any other Amiibo, yet it's still only in the bundle in the US afaik.

If my hypothesis is correct, this will be just like Mario party 10;
I.E, the amiibo is exclusive to the game bundle (at first), and then starts appearing on store shelves as usual about 2 weeks later.
No luck with yarn yoshi, so I bought a plastic one instead

I started collecting in mid-august. The only ones that are imports are Mega Man, Pit, Wario, DeDeDe, and Shulk. Everyone else are the US versions I paid MSRP for.

Aw damnit, I just saw amiibo and got excited. Oh well, still cool that they'll get more comparability then.

I finally decided to get an amiibo. the Yarn Yoshi that came with Woolly World. Does anyone know how to preserve the packaging as much as possible while still opening it? I never thought I'd be one of those people but it looks nice in the box and I don't like throwing away disposable game boxes.
I personally use a boxcutter to carefully cut the sides of the plastic box to preserve the card behind it.
