Same reason I'd downloaded the HL2 beta thing a few times, curiosity. It's interesting seeing games in their little midway-to-completion stage. Hell, I remember finding a .rar of a bunch of Resident Evil 4 test compiles and flipping my shit over them. I couldn't play them very well due to not having a good enough PC to emulate but it was still really interesting to see all of them and see what changed and why.

It's pretty awful that people are harassing you over something that is fairly trivial (not to disrespect your work - but you get the idea), but on the upside, at least people like that are in a vocal minority. Still, though, I hope the petty overreactions haven't detracted too much towards your own personal enjoyment of your work.

It's not like it's some case of goldies protecting goldies or something retarded, it's a case of people just being generally decent folk and supporting someone who is clearly going through a rough time IRL. Some of us actually know what that's like and likewise, are able to share sympathy, because we value the life of another person over some shitty unfinished assets from a 10 year old video game beta.

I didn't know about the details of the release so I didn't expect to come here and see what seems to be a disaster. Most importantly I am sorry to hear about PelPix's condition, it's hard to express sincere feelings over the Internet as it otfen comes out as sarcasm but I really hope things will get better for you.
I hope none of this will harm a potential official release though, such a massive package of beta content is extremely interesting. It was already heavily documented and that's good enough for me, but I believe preservation of video game history to be important and making it public would lower the chances of losing this content.
Hopefully this doesn't come out as "dick-ish", I don't value video games so hard as to ignore someone's condition. It was just my opinion on the matter.
