Attrition seems to have taken a downward spiral, and I can't be bothered to fix every bug that has come up lately.
I've been working on what will become the successor to Attrition; Atomgrad.
Because the game is in such an early development phase I would like to keep the amount of testers limited. I'm in the process of rewriting many features. You can expect Atomgrad to be much better than Attrition. After all, Attrition was my very first project with PHP.
In order to join Atomgrad you'll need an alpha key. You can join the IRC (Details on the website) to get one.
I'll just leave a few here anyway.
(Features/pages may be missing, don't worry I just haven't gotten around to them.)
see now this is what I was talking about. a fictional story can go a long way when it comes to these types of games. adds a level of originality.

Damn dude, I donated a small bit to attrition and now you're gonna ditch it? I hope Atomgrad will replace Attrition and you will stick to it >_>
I'm sorry but this war system is garbage
It really is.

well technically you donated to the server, and I'm assuming atomgrad is on the same server.

Anybody else getting '404.php' when trying to connect to either of the sites?

Top kek. Nice to see the creator is abandoning the game so quickly. Daily reminder that sven is an asshole:

Where's that game of yours that was "near the final phase of development" two months ago? Still can't create anything worth sharing huh?

I seriously don't get this:

[20:04] <sven> What are you using to create the game? Python Django?
[20:04] <heidiland> yup

Why are you criticizing his choice in language when you're using PHP?

Man I really want to see where I said that, because I clearly stated that at that stage I'd been working on it for about two weeks. I'm not so godlike that I can move into the final phase of development of a game two weeks after I start coding it.
And unlike you I actually want to release something that can be played, not something that required nigh-daily resets.
It will be coming out within the next week or so. In a fully playable state.
Here's something that looks slightly better.

That looks strangely familiar to something I've seen before... Oh, BLOC.
I changed my hosting to a new company. So it was not suspended.

How can you say that looks like BLOC, when Attrition was almost exactly BLOC? It literally had the same comical text, and options in the Policies menu? It even had the quotes at the bottom of the page. :v:

Pffft! Says the guy who originally called his game <BLOC.
Also, still suspended. You should really step up your game. Even Rumsod managed to keep the game online during a server migration. Even Rumsod.
This little pissing contest is starting to make me regret donating, to be honest.
Like... come on, sven. Did you really have to stoop to criticizing him like that when you could have just told him the provider had changed? (Because I didn't even know about that)
Just saying that if you want people to play your game, alienating folks isn't really the way to do it.

The old domain was set to redirect to the new one, so I assumed most of the players would follow it.
For anyone that isn't aware of the new address:

I just don't understand why he is shitposting everywhere I post about Attrition, how can you shit on a copy of a game that you have also copied? Both heidi and I are guilty of it and we should both just move on. Enough of this.

On a less aggressive note, what can you tell us about the development of AtomGard?
On a less aggressive note, what can you tell us about the development of AtomGard?
I'd like to make the new character system more in-depth, with the character attributes I would like to have effects to domestic or foreign relations.
If you're charismatic, the US might be less inclined to invade you.
I've improved on a lot of back-end stuff, just from things I've learned. It's important to note that not all the features are in place because I've been rewriting the way many things work, such as player arrays.
Opposed to the old $u_a variable, I'll be using $ply. Meaning player. Players referenced from and id (such as in the url of profiles) will now be using the $u variable. This probably means nothing to players, but what it means is that I am able to retrieve information such as group, alliance, ect from both the local player and a referenced player, rather than just one.
I've also made it more visible what group/status a player has on both the world page and on profiles.
http://playag.net/world
http://playag.net/profile?id=1
Lastly, I've added a console for developers and administrators, as well as an audit system which will help track player interactions such as trading.

Turns have also stopped firing recently. I was hoping to get up to a million troops, but I guess 983,034 will just have to do.

What happened with Atomgrad?
[editline]18th January 2014[/editline]
Streamline Production Quotas says it costs 50k, but it actually charged me 100k each. Just saying.
does this work the exact same as bloc? is turning my entire population into oil and being taken over for a spell going to hinder selling 200+ barrels at level 1?
I was able to put myself ahead with only six registered nations by buying out all of the oil I could to artificially raise the price, turning my citizens into oil, and using the pillage option. basically doubled my starting funds and military presence at the cost of stability alone.
Is this where the Bloc refugees will go
