I still don't know what to think about the whole concept of "upgraded consoles", to be honest
there is literally nothing wrong with it
for the projected future, all games are cross-compatible between consoles. the only difference is that you buy a project scorpio when you have a massive 4k TV or oculus rift. this is only a good thing for games and it's only a good thing for consoles
keep in mind the scorpio is most likely going to come out in like holiday 2017, so even if scorpio becomes the main focus after say, 2 years of being released, then that's a 6+ year life span for the xbox one. it's good
Quick, everyone crash the steam store
Good job contradicting yourself.

Then why have it at 4k. You're just -not- going to get the quality out of it. Especially since they're pushing for functionality of a $500 graphics card out of a system, that again, still won't run at 60 fps because 4k will STILL KILL HIGH END PCS.
Of course it counts lol. What are you even on about?
Do you mean to imply that it's no longer a video game? Because we're talking about running video games at a specific resolution and framerate.
No it fucking doesn't, I can strip away all the textures from Fallout 4 and get it running on 10 year old PC or something, that doesn't count at all.
Wait who's this presenting the PC Game Show? I wanted Day9 again
What's sad about the Project Scorpio is that, by the time they release it, that console will be technologically inferior to all PC hardware.
And Sony is lurking right there, behind MS, picking up the 'right' bits, if you know what I mean.
Yep, all casual like, socks and runners at a conference
I've always wanted to get more games
well no SHIT
This steam speedrun thing is ironic right?
what is even happening
MEMES
What memes were they?
Day9 isn't the host, what is this?

Graphical fidelity =/= Resolution and framerate.
All you need to run 4K @ 60Hz is a GPU that supports it (pretty much any GPU) and an output interface that supports it (HDMI 2.0 or Displayport)
There isn't anything more to it.
On the bright side, 4K TV's won't be next to pointless now
Boom, Train simulator and all DLC
We're watching someone buy games, this is how low we've sunk.
It's just the preshow.
Can someone drop a link to a stream please?
I'm not crazy did they totally make an Over 9000 joke in the beginning

No one cares that it can "technically" run a 4K game, no one's arguing about that, the argument is that you can't run current games at 4K 60fps at their full graphical settings, that's what matters. It doesn't matter at all if you can "technically" do it but not really.
Is this actually a new e sport

And I say; Of course you can, you just optimize them for it. And that's entirely correct.
Why did they start with Supermarket Sweep of all things?
She has a pack in her cart, wonder if they'll disqualify her. What were the rules again?
She should have got Train Simulator just to fuck with Razer

To be very straightforward, the main reason many people choose a console over a computer is the option to spend a, shall we say, tantum every four or five years and being able to run all the games during that time frame without needing to upgrade the machine they just bought.
If we introduce the concept that a console can be "upgraded" via new versions of it, then I wonder why one shouldn't just buy a PC at that point and be done with it (with the adeed issue that, in the upgraded console's case, I'm buying a new machine altogether for just few new components, whereas with a computer I can simply buy the upgraded hardware I need and install it just fine).
My argument however is kinda proven wrong by the fact the owners of the "vanilla" consoles will be able to buy the same games as everyone else and won't be cut off (their games will run less smoothly and fancy-like, but there are people who certainly won't mind)
And I say; Of course you can, you just optimize them for it. And that's entirely correct.
No, it's not. It doesn't fucking count if you take an existing game and then strip away half of the graphics options and get it running at 4K 60fps, it's not the same game at that point. Console games don't have adjustable graphics settings.
