I don't think you realize that everyone I know who does console gaming over PC does it solely because it is an all in one box you just put a CD in and are done, and because they are already invested in their platform of choice. My friends who have looked into PC gaming never pull the trigger because they specifically do not want to deal with playing at a desk, OS stuff, upgrading, or dealing with hardware beyond plug and play. Consoles are popular over PC not because of power or even price (though that is factor, just not among any of my console gaming friends who have money) but because of being TV focused easy convenience .
If Scorpio is basically just what steambox should have been from the start, that's awesome. Because that is exactly what steambox needed to be and exactly what is appealing to my console gaming friends.
