Ubisoft sandbox games are some of the safest, most blandest mediocre games out there and have been for the past like, 7 years, I expect Watch Dogs 2 to continue to play it safe and keep it boring. It has a slightly new coat of paint with the protag and tone but it's still gonna be the same tedium of a big ass but fairly empty world that houses the linear missions themselves.

Games from major publishers sadly have to appeal to mainstream media to make sure everyone "gets it".

They took the hacktivism idea, made you a part of a hacker group in-game, added the thug style with glasses stock photo-look. Then sprinkled it with some Lulzsec references, cause that was the biggest hacktivism group that mainstream media reported on or anonymous, I suppose works too. But, Lulzsec is more related to the lulz and fun stuff that the presentation referred to.

He almost looks straight like a image from a news cover of a recent hacker attack.

From what they've shown thus far, I'm actually pretty psyched for Watch_Dogs 2, especially given all the new features they've supposedly included in it (and new in-game things reflective of where tech is going now, like smaller/more varied drones, 3-D printed/homebrew weapons and gadgets, etc.) and the fact that they also seem to not be trying as hard to be super-serious in terms of story and feel.

I know this is a bit late to the discussion on injustice 2 but I thought it was already widely known. Last year in September I went to a random convention and the head of the project was there. He randomly just dropped that he was working on that so I assumed that it had already been revealed.

Watch Dogs is such wasted potential. The art and digital effects are really wonderful, and the concept of a game centered around semi-realistic hacking to manipulate your environment is great.. But it's just blown by horrific writing from staff that are extremely out of touch and lacking in self-awareness. I enjoyed Watch Dogs as a game but I can't really get excited for Watch Dogs 2 because I know it'll just be the same hamfisted mass-appeal image of hacking with some awkward dialogue and questionable character motives thrown in for seasoning.

Also what the fuck? Standard, Deluxe and Gold? God I fucking hate Ubisoft.

Usually you get a standard edition, a "limited" edition with some extra shit, and a season pass bundle.

Doesn't it ever get old?

The only games with season pass I've bought are Fallout 4 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Because at least I know that the Season Pass will at least somehow be worth it.

For example, I didn't preorder Mafia 3 with season pass. Because I know 2K are just as lazy as Ubisoft when it comes to Season Pass content.
