I also have friends who don't CS as good or build items as they should or do things that are seemingly basic, yet they are in fucking plat.
Yeah, I used to think similarly. So a couple of my friends who were in Plat (I was low Gold at the time) took a couple of hours to play against me, and guess what? They stomped me, every single time. It's simply a fact - over time you will average out at the rank you belong.
also, your friends aren't going to tell you "yeah it's your fault, you suck lol" that's not what i say to the friends i play with, and you can bet your ass they've asked
My first piece of advice would be your attitude, you take everything too personally and get so caught up what everyone else is doing wrong you dont take the time to look at yourself. You're even doing it here saying they're belittling you when it is more of the usual indifferent honesty the internet is in abundance of. If someone saying "your build is bad" is going to rustle your jimmies so easily, then you need to start taking breaks in between your games. You say you can play 5 games tops each day? Well why are you trying to shove the maximum number of games down your throat and why do you think doing these games mindlessly in a row is going to help you improve especially if you get tilted after the first one? If you're actually serious about climbing you need to realize that thought and learning are required during and after the game just like any other sport. Secondly start looking up videos and builds professionals use, and start trying to at least mimic their thought process. For example, let us say you're playing against a karma/kalista bot lane. Well just from thinking about these two kits you already know you need a support that can disengage a fight easily or one that can help your adc maintain a front. Now lets say your adc decides to pick caitlyn, you know the angle of play this person SHOULD be going for is to use her range to try and avoid their poke. Seeing this you could go something like thresh to make it hard for them to get back to cait or something like Janna to peel them off if your adc somehow gets caught. Now this is just a small line of thinking for just the bot lane match up and even then I made it very shallow. I am just trying to show you that this use of logic before, during and after the game is how you improve and make the right decisions. Another example would be deciding your early build. So lets say your adc got first blood and over all the enemy bot lane is now going very passive. You look at the scoreboard and see that your enemy has a lee sin jungle. In this situation it would be wise to go for a sightstone or at least a vision ward early on as it is likely that lee will take advantage of your aggressive playing to try and gank. Now all of this is mostly obvious, but I am just trying to show you how you should be thinking during a match rather than focusing on every bumble your team makes. Also keep in mind people are different and while you may take this seriously you can't expect everyone to be at your standards and to do so is just setting yourself up to tilt. So my main advice would be study people better than you, and be more open to people worse than you.
What's wrong with my builds then? Instead of talking shit and belittling me in every post then maybe give actual advice that's constructive.
I did. I posted 4 points of constructive criticism. You blew it off and said you were done with the support role and it was just trolls. You aren't taking responsibility for your games. You aren't actually looking for help, if you were you would be looking for resources, guides, build lists, etc.. You just want to rant and say it's everyone else's fault. You aren't going to get better with that attitude. I said it before and I'll say it again: Stop trying to win and start trying to learn. Winning means piss all if you don't learn anything from the game.
wtf
wtf
OMG WHAT IS THIS CRAP STOP BELITTLING AND TLAKING SHIT ABOUT MY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AND GIVE ME A PROPER CONSTRUCTIVE RESPONSE GAWD.
OMG WHAT IS THIS CRAP STOP BELITTLING AND TLAKING SHIT ABOUT MY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AND GIVE ME A PROPER CONSTRUCTIVE RESPONSE GAWD.
pls don't hurt me, i cri every tiem
You seem to mistake it for a joke, I was trying to put into perspective how you're acting dude. Either way you're really flip flopping, you tell us you're tired of trolls but you've gone full "idc lel" mode on us right now. Seriously, next time you're in a game and feeling mad try to take a deep breath and realize after those 30 odd minutes you'll most likely never see the person you're dealing with again. Then use that time to try and improve/practice what you've been needing work on. If you're so sure you're going to lose what sounds more productive, arguing with some random jack ass about how it is their fault or saying "gee this is a good time to work on my roaming ganks as a support." And I really mean that, I don't mean "heh im going to abandon lane because FUCK my adc hes died 3 times the bitch", I mean actually working on and improving mechanics that may help. For example if your adc fed three kills and you calmly head mid and get a successful kill off, that now helped mid might come bot to give you guys a little help. You have to make things happen, if your team isn't doing it then you work to set things up. If you give it your all and work to improve yourself you won't feel anger at the end of a lost game because you did everything you could do and even then you learned from it. There is a reason this kind of thing is repeated over and over again, because it is true and right.
I had the worst time with this sort of thing, I was playing ryze against an azir, and three seconds into the game he says: "You're playing ryze wrong." So I say "What do you mean, what am I doing wrong?" and he didn't say anything. and then I died a few minutes later and he says "Yeah, you're playing him wrong" And the entire fucking match went on like that, and he never told me what the fuck I was doing wrong. Then I spectated him in the match after that and guess what? He was playing ryze, and he played ryze the exact same fucking way I did, except he started with dark seal instead of sapphire crystal. Like, what the fuck is wrong with people who just say "You're doing it wrong" WITHOUT EXPLAINING WHAT RIGHT IS? "You should have started dark seal", how fucking hard would that have been to type out, huh?
i wish replays were in this game so we could give actual advice [editline]4th November 2016[/editline]
I had the worst time with this sort of thing, I was playing ryze against an azir, and three seconds into the game he says: "You're playing ryze wrong." What matters are results and if the results arent to your liking then you go and look up videos/builds of what higher skilled players are doing. This doesn't mean you need to emulate 1:1 what they're doing but it offers insights into nuances and habits you can develop for a champion.
i wish replays were in this game so we could give actual advice
Soon, my friend. Soon.
I play league of legends too casually to keep up with how things change so often. I'm using builds that were great a few patches ago, but probably nerfed into the ground one or two patches back. I don't even know how I got into gold in just 15 ranked matches, honestly. The game might have considered me a good player, but that's where I have disagreed time and time again. I barely have an acceptable AP, AD, and support rune page, and there have been times where I've built shitty but overcame it through positioning and knowing when to pick fights. However, there's only so much you can do without failing to people who know what they're actually building and using. That's why I stopped caring about winning ranked matches and started caring about looking more towards myself when it came to situations in-game. Is this what I should be building? Is this an acceptable position to be in at this point in the game? Can I afford to go down to [lane] for a gank as [other lane]? Training yourself to see your own problems rather than others is one of the core skills to bettering yourself at this game. People can see their own problems, and if they want help, they're going to ask for it, one way or another. Thing is, in this thread, so many people have come here complaining about people in ranked losing matches for them or just outright refusing to learn from the first lines of advice given that users who do give advice just stop caring about the other person as soon as they show signs of irritability. As far as my advice goes, you can take it with a grain of salt. I don't expect to be right, but I do expect to make you question yourself even more than you question the players around you.
Rengar goes AFK, I ask the other team to report him for doing so, other team mates start calling me a retard for telling them and yelling that I should be reported. Say what you will about Dota 2, people weren't nearly as creative with reporting over there. The best they got was the ol' 'report him for being bad'.
Singed is such a 'sink or swim' champion, it's barely even funny. If you're up against a melee champion (or someone who's bad at their champion), there's a good chance the lane is yours and you can merrily waddle along like the cancer train you are. If you're up against a ranged champion, you're likely to have the most boring lane of your life and you start to praise any moment your lane opponent has gone back to base so you can get a few precious CS.
i cant believe how shit i am right now. after taking about a year and a half off i managed to place in gold 3 (was in plat 3), i've won maybe 2 games since and i'm now in gold v. i wish i could blame it on my team but my scores are atrocious.
Yeah being gone through multiple meta, itemization, and champion updates will do that to you. [editline]6th November 2016[/editline] I lose mechanics after not playing for like 4 days, not that surprised you dropped from P3 to G5.
Finally got invited to PBE after a year+ of waiting.
I think I became a Brand onetrick.
I blame the fact that getting kills with Brand is just so fucking funny.
Nobody respects the fact that even with just sightstone and frostfang if you land your stun you can instantly do like half an ADCs health with your combo. It's even funnier when the enemy ADC thinks that just because you missed your W you can't do anything, so they walk into you to dodge and try to instantly all-in. I mean yeah a lot of your front-loaded burst comes from W, but that doesn't mean shit when your ADC can just freely damage them. [editline]8th November 2016[/editline] Only downside is it's super easy to run out of mana.
played bard for the first time last night. time to perfect my on hit bard build before the next season
You guys ever seen a Kalista jungle? Yeah me neither, but the enemy Lee Sin sure saw a lot of her.
You guys ever seen a Kalista jungle?
Yeah in fact I've seen every single attack speed based ADC in the jungle before Kindred's release, sort of the jizz why she came to be.
bard pffft put some respeck around the mana tank karthus
i'll add it to my to do list as well as top lane tank ivern
played bard for the first time last night. time to perfect my on hit bard build before the next season
slow down there aphromoo
why is eve still in the game, perma invis is so lame for a jungler to have especially since pink wards aren't invis anymore.
Pink wards haven't been invis for a really long time. She's weak as fuck later, and with the jungle changes her clear is even more garbage.
well generally the late game doesnt matter if the enemy can win in the mid game. eve ganks are free, there are other champs who can jungle and run into a lane like zac, hec and olaf, but eve is the worse. [editline]10th November 2016[/editline] been playing all the champs that came out while i wasnt playing. having a lot of fun with ekko, my only issue with him is his ult drags too far behind you if you're running in a straight line and the aoe is fucking tiny and hard to hit. hes the first champion that has surprised me with burst damage in a long time.
Which is why you play safe and intelligently against Eve. Control wards still reveal her, and getting wards on her camps shows her when she's clearing them. If you don't respect a champions strengths and get punished for it, it's your fault.
