French Maid Ahri's where it's at, man. Or Fiora. Ooh, gimme Butler Braum.
Are AP items too weak? I am playing Heimerdinger, I have sorc shoes, liandry's, void staff. The enemy Sejuani with one magic resist item can just roll right through my 3 towers and ult like nothing hurts her. Meanwhile I have to build like 3 armor items to even remotely survive AD damage.
its a tank meta shifting towards adc/assassin. ap isnt weak its just got shit items at the moment. if the enemy has a lot of health and resistance your only option is void and liandrys. [editline]2nd February 2017[/editline] and against the assassin/adc fad you have little options except stack damage.
Ye but that LB tho
I suggested Arcanist Viktor a long time ago since Viktor hasn't gotten a new skin since the ice age EDIT: just what i wanted for my promos North80: can i mid pls North80: mid ? With pen builds like that you're banking on a lot of smaller ratios building up over time. If you want to burst someone need big AP items, not pen items. Sej also gets free defensive stats from her passive, so if anyone was slowed by her she's probably getting enough free stats to counter your flat pen from passive + runes/masteries. [editline]2nd February 2017[/editline] Pen builds right now are actually really strong because Void applies first. They just aren't very good against tanks. If you're against a team of full squishies, running all 3 pen items like that will destroy them. If there's 1-2 tanks on the enemy team you want big AP and void instead if you want to be able to kill them.

But it's hard. You have to be like 2 whole tiers level of skill above where you currently are to carry out of your tier single-handedly.
I actually got demoted ;( silver boxbox couldn't 1vs4 sadly.
Lexi, some notes about your Vi and Ryze games that I just looked through. This is purely off of memory immediately after watching, and remember I'm just a plat scrub that hasn't played in 5 months. But here are my thoughts, for what it's worth. Vi game Your jungle clearing is OK, not optimal. Blue -> gromp -> wolves -> red would have been better, avoid raptors like the plague early on. And whenever you DO decide to do raptors, take out the little ones first, by lining them up and E'ing all of them in one go. As a result of a slightly slower clear, you miss out on a countergank opportunity in top lane and KhaZix scores first blood. This is unfortunate in that he's exceptionally strong right now and he kinda did snowball the game for them. Your first death was slightly unfortunate, make sure you spam ping more in soloq to explicitly let bot lane know that you ARE going in, bit of miscoordination there. Your second death, it looked like you were going for a solo kill on Ekko, which was about 50/50 chance of working at best even without their Kha'Zix showing up, but unfortunately he did. It's always risky to go for someone that outlevels you on your own, should have waited for Talon to want to engage before doing so. As for the rest of it, it was a snowball-fest and I don't think I need to explain how you got caught out, etc. In low elo, early game is everything, people give up if they're 5 or so kills down, so ensuring good ganks at the start is a huge morale boost. (Of course, be wary of teams that scale well into late game; if you get a good lead, camp the lane which has the highest late game potential to fuck them) Also, might have been worth stopping building the triforce and getting some tanky stats earlier to help you survive the fed-ass Lucian, but might not have worked anyway. Ryze game Alright, you did a lot better here. You use your autos to harass a lot, might be worth also throwing in a spell, as spells don't draw minion aggro whereas autos do. You miss a few easy skillshots, which you can't really afford to do if you want to climb. Another note is that you use your mouse to level skills up still, rather than using Ctrl-(skill). Start getting used to using Ctrl to level it up, it makes it so much quicker and easier. I guarantee you that you will get killed one day because you used your mouse to level up a skill. You get the kill, all good, then what you should have done is go back to base as your minion wave hits their tower, especially good that it was a cannon wave. This meant that when you came back, the minion wave would have been much closer to your tower than where you were because you stayed. The fact that you were so pushed up made for an easy gank on you, where you burned flash, ghost and 2 potions (presumably out of panic, absolutely no need for more than 1, they don't stack) to get away, which may have been prevented otherwise. You come back, harass well, farm pretty well, then get caught out by Lux, she unloads everything on you. At this point, you should have realised that she had no mana left and you had red buff, so you should have gone in on her then. Even Blitz came by, landed a hook, but you weren't in range to capitalise on it so she gets away with her flash. You go back. Smart decision on getting boots, you definitely need those to dodge Lux bindings, and get away from Noc fears. However, I might have been tempted to get Merc treads here, they were fairly heavy on the CC locks and Ryze can get away with buying that instead of early CDR or MPen. And it helps survive Lux burst, and because Ryze is a sustained fighter, you need to stay alive longer to output your insane DPS. Speaking of burst, I also think Thunderlord's is better on Ryze, you were missing out on quite a bit of burst in your harass, and I think you even miss out on a kill or two because of the lack of it, whereas the Stormraider's wasn't utilised very much, from what I remember. Your bushcheck in top lane soon afterwards was pretty amusing, when Blitz "missed" the bush. I mean, he sort of missed it, but if you know you're going to be checking bushes for recalling people, Shift right click for attack-move, so that as soon as you see someone, you attack them. Would have MAYBE stopped his recall (I say maybe because there's a period of time at the end of the recall when it's almost unstoppable) From then on you did pretty well. You didn't use your ult the whole game though, but I suspect that's more fear of fucking it up and not knowing your limits on Ryze well enough to be able to utilise it. That came out longer than expected, hope it helps.
if some people here don't believe in elo hell, come watch me play
Why watch you play when you can duo me pussy I ain't afraid to double up my elo hell cancer, but I go hard with off-meta champs only so be prepared IGN: Free Speech Dudevinny can confirm my skills are beyond mankind especially when I manage to feed hard :^)

Try just using it instead of flash just to cut someone off, for instance, to get a feel for it. I know why you'd use Stormraider's but I'm saying it's unnecessary. You have your Rune Prison to snare targets, then you just run up slightly closer than max range and keep unloading until they die.
No I had more AP, I believe a Zhonya and Morelle as well at the time, but still she just wanders through it like a fucking wall.
That's still not very much AP to be honest. Heimer's max rank turrets only do 34 + 15% AP on basic attacks and 130 + 55% on the empowered shot, which is fairly easy to dodge. Zhonya's, Liandry's, Void, Morello's is 350 AP. That's honestly pretty pitiful. I understand he isn't always a high AP champion, but you can't expect to burn through a late-game Sej with 120+ MR and 4k HP with only ~380 AP. They trade the laning pressure for laning safety and better kiting in teamfights. That being said, honestly if you're below like plat you shouldn't be playing him. He's a really mechanically demanding champion, if you miss a Q you'll get shit on because that's where like all of his damage comes from. It's way better to play easier champions like Lux, Corki, or Ziggs and focus on the rest of the game instead of on playing your champion. This is especially true for people playing roles they don't main, it's why I play shit like Maokai top, Lux mid, and dodge jungle.
What is the best support you guys recommend for beginners? I was thinking Zyra but Blitzcrank looks tempting too. Also looking for a good beginner's level champion to play on mid.
Well if you're trying to learn a mid as well just do annie, she can fit both roles and is riots poster child champion for learning the game.
You want to learn the utter basics of support, Janna 100%. Once you learn the basics, you can try out other champions with similar play patterns. Karma can teach you how to harass and how to choose the correct ability and ability combo, Soraka can teach you positioning and awareness of other lanes.
I tried Janna once. Didn't like her all that much despite everyone telling me she's pretty strong right now. I think i give Annie a go since I kinda been looking for a champion that I can fill the part if I ever need to go mid/support. Most of the times I've been playing Adc or Jungle. And before I even think about playing ranked I want to try to get as much experience as possible with every lane.
Kog'Maw 2.0
Kog'Maw with a stun basically

You don't have to really do much decision making with her on a champion level, which makes her perfect for learning the basics of support. You can focus more on the lane and the game and less on your champion.
Question: if a game is indisputably, irrevocably lost with no possibility of salvation and your team won't surrender, is it wrong to just stay in your lane and fuck around?
Question: if a game is indisputably, irrevocably lost with no possibility of salvation and your team won't surrender, is it wrong to just stay in your lane and fuck around?
Just do what you can to seem like you're trying, even if you're really not. Defend the base, throw shields on people, use item actives, avoid going in 1v5 like an idiot, etc.. The game's already lost, whatever you do doesn't matter for that. But if you start feeding or AFK somewhere, you can and probably will get reported and that's not worth it. Just go on autopilot.
I haven't really played league in a long time (2015 I think?). I wanted to at least try it a bit to see what the current state of the game is. What's the current meta for SR? Also, is there a facepunch club on NA?

if everyone kept a positive attitude they would win some of those lost games. i fucking hate the people who play this game. i was duoing with a friend and we lost a really long game with another duo on our team and they were fucking furious and blamed us. and we spent like 25 minutes in the post game trying to talk it out and these guys were just so set in their ways that there was no rational conversation to be had. it makes me laugh every time and its well worth the half hour just to experience what kind of people exist in this world and how it takes a video game to bring out the worst in them. [editline]4th February 2017[/editline] and i mean you would really stand a better chance, when someone is mad they spend probably about 10-20% of in game time typing in chat.
