League of Legends v35 - Gangplank appreciation thread

Often when I hear complaints about how mobas play it's from low skill players
When you're bronze-silver you're hardly playing league of legends, you're playing a different game than good people
Because I was responding to the post above it?
I don't think you understood my post..
Doesn't matter regardless, getting too off-topic and there's been plenty trying to explain to you before me
The biggest counter to assassins in this game is exhaust lel, you just have to have a support with a brain to use it, kek, that sure will happen but it's league, players are pretty bad.
Didn't know there were people who typed like this unironically.

My motivation in league is slowly dying,
lately the only fun I'm getting is trying to experiment with items, i.e. building 6x rod of ages and walking about super tanky.
It might be because of my recent drop from silver 4 to 5, but I'm feeling that that's how far ranked i'm ever gonna get.

with that attitude yeah you wont get further.
just play, literally that's the best advice there is. play.
Play and watch high level streamers, especially for the role you play. You can learn a lot by watching people significantly better than you, even if they aren't your role. I'm a support main and I learned a lot by watching Dyrus, QT, and OddOne play.
[editline]2nd September 2016[/editline]
Actually it occurs to me I don't watch any support streamers except occasionally.
Riot, what the fuck is this?

Which of you fucking mouthbreathers thinks it's fair to be matched up against a 4-stack as a solo queue player?
the same people who think placing diamonds/plats against silvers/bronzies because theres a gold on the lower ranked team. aka it doesn't have to make sense
There's a few league coaches like LS who stream or make yt content. Good to watch if you want to refine play and make smarter decisions
But chances are if you're below Plat there more game mechanics things you need to work on if you can't break 51% win rate (aka stagnated)
whats the ticket to having fun playing top lane
i dont want to play gnar
I really can't stand the people who play this game sometimes. Why, of all builds you could possibly use, would anyone go full AP Jarvan?!?

Duelists, illaoi, riven
as someone who just played illaoi for the first time yesterday she's the most fun I've had with top lane in a while
it also doesn't hurt that her skillshot is ridiculous
People play everything in bronze from what I understand. Yi ADC, Aatrox support, Annie jungle, etc.. Lowest I've been is silver 4, and everything's relatively meta there. There's always going to be the occasional person who onetricks something and refuses to play anything else, or someone who's going to troll. Don't let it get to you, just focus on improving and you'll get away from most of it.
[sp]Samsung made it to the Worlds championship, I am so happy as a Samsung fan, its' really amazing to see Samsung at Worlds again. CoreJJ from DIG to Worlds Championship, probably learnt from the kid himself! Crown being in Bronzil and Ambition finally at worlds. I am so amazed[/sp]
2 hp.

"Meta" barely exists in low ranks because of how shit everybody is. You can play the most off-meta choices ever and still succeed purely because of this.

People say that a lot, but my experiences have been mostly all relatively meta picks. Occasionally something like Urgot or Katarina shows up, - or fucking Akali again, which means I lose an inventory slot for pinks so we don't lose our backline instantly - but most of the time people try to emulate the higher ranks because they think if they don't they can't climb. The meta is a lot wider than people like to pretend it is.
its less relevant at the lower levels i think he means
in bronze you wont win because of your picks
In any game, in any competitive scene, the only true thing that gets you anywhere is your resolve. A man who is content with being in their place will always be lower than the man who never gives up. Though, you know, there are some people who seem to never get any better, whether through being completely ignorant or iron headed enough to try and bruteforce their way to the top.
If they enter combat in a lane, they attach to that lane. Maiden does too.
Can't stop but laugh every time minions screw over hashinshin.
So I just experienced what is in all likelihood the absolute worst throw I will ever see.
Bot prefpicks Vayne, as does jungle. Bot takes Vayne, jungle gets pissy and takes Soraka. Doesn't get help clearing the first camp so she joins bot lane. Naturally, things go tits-up pretty fast and Vayne and Sona go AFK. In fact, at some point, they returned and started feeding. I was completely set on losing this...until the 30 minute mark came around.
For reasons I can't really understand, they seemed to have stopped caring. They just walked in, assuming they could 1v1 us. This resulted in a fed Brand (25/5/11) and Garen (23/1/11) who proceeded to waltz all over them in teamfights. The chat was hysterical, the other team flinging 'report X' and 'report Y' our way because they couldn't agree on whose fault it was they were losing.
picked adc mundo bc my team picked jungle soraka and on hit leona top and ended up going 18-5 or some shit
new meta?

Unless you're Brofresco who thinks everything is new meta just because he managed to pull it off 1 out of a 100 games then no.
Laning against new Yorick is not necessarily hard, but it's a full time job.
Due to his immense siege power, leaving your lane post-6 is pretty much a guarantee that your tower is gonna fall.

yeah i was kinda joking but i really did not expect that to go as well as it should
how are people building the new yorick?
Heard somebody say Black Cleaver is nice because his ghouls apply it and he doesn't need the AS from TF that much. Death's Dance for the same reason. IBG if you think you need the Sheen item.
Dyrus goes TF/tank, but says he's actually pretty shit top. Good in the jungle though. But it's early, so it's possible a different build works better up there.
I've only played him a couple times in some customs to learn his mechanics, so I don't know what build is actually best on him. TF/tank feels pretty good to me, but I'm a support main. I play fucking Maokai as my top lane pick.

what?? you don't go ranked to test champions??
