yeah, he can poke and his ult contributes greatly to team fights even if he doesn't build a lot of damage.
it wasn't too long ago that it was popular (or semi-popular) it was just one of those off picks people did that work against the right compositions.
I play support Sion.
I can give up my life to save my ADC AND take one fucker down with me.
And spam Q and laugh.

Neato. Refunded the Battleborn Kayle I bought on sale and got myself Undertaker Yorick and Blood-Moon Thresh instead.
Blind Pick truly is the most wretched place filled with scum and villainy. Bunch of players instalocked champions, I ended up having Ziggs as support, then we get into the game first things first, Yasuo dc'd. comes back when the game started, he never left again, he stayed around the fountain for 20 mins, he did nothing entire time, he simply stopped us from using /remake. Biggest waste of time.
ok this is really fucking cool.
... They ARE real supports. What the fuck do you think a ""real"" support is?
[editline]18th October 2016[/editline]
I mean are you saying any champion that can be played in a different role isn't a "real" support? Because if so there's a shit load of real actual supports that aren't "real" like Nautilus, Vel'Koz, Morgana, Karma, Lulu, etc..
when i think support i think people like sona/janna/soraka/lulu/naut/bard/morg/thresh/blitz to name a few. i find them as supporting champions because as much as half of those are able to do other roles besides support, they have utility in their abilities that greatly benefit whoever they're supporting. lux may have utility like stuns but her moves can sometimes be way too strong for her own good especially when it's about giving the ADC the kills/CS.
but when i see a brand or a veigar support i feel like its just a copout from being a champion with abilities to support your adc and more so to just be a secondary midlaner in bottom. a brand can annihilate someone with a combo and has a likely chance of kill stealing, and so does veigar for obvious reasons. everyones entitled to their own opinions that those are mine, take it as you will.

The ADC is not entitled to every kill that happens in bot lane. A kill is more than just gold, and I'll take a 6/0/3 Brand with a 3/0/6 Sivir every day of the week. If you seriously think a Brand shitting on the enemy bot lane and giving his ADC a free lane is detrimental just because he got the only kills in lane you need to learn a lot more about the game.

many adc's i've supported feel or think they're entitled to getting most if not all kills champion and minion. (with exceptions like spoils of war or if they're dead/not in lane)
like you, i don't care if my support or adc gets more kills than me, as long as we are winning the lane and someone on our teams getting fed.
i don't think it's detrimental at all either, if hes doing good then thats great; its only until someone decides to use a champion like brand or veigar for support where the enemy support does what brand can't - healing, pushing back, or pulling for example. it just seems like a mid-laner doing support stuff is just as meaningful as a katerina moving to gank bottom, and never leaving. brands kit was intentionally built for killing enemies, you and others may see that as support as a technicality but to me it just seems like a cop out
anyways you seem to be getting heated over this so i'll just stop now
brands kit was intentionally built for killing enemies, you and others may see that as support as a technicality but to me it just seems like a cop out
You still don't get it. Captain Chalky said it directly: Support is not just being a ward bitch for your team, it's being the member who has the least income. The more you are able to do with minimal income, the more useful you are to your team. This is why Brand is a viable, if off-meta, support. Brand has high base damage with %HP in it, which synergises strongly with the generally cheap magic pen and the one expensive non-support he buys - Rylai's - provides huge utility because of his kit. Offensive caster supports are not a "mid-lane cop out", they're legitimate picks into and against certain team comps.
If we already have Maokai and Nunu on our team, me picking Braum, Alistar, or Nautilus is going to drag the team down and put a shit load more pressure on our carries to perform. On the other hand, if I pick someone like Brand, Vel'Koz, or Zyra I can provide a significant amount of damage to make up for the already double tank pick. If we're running an AD mid it's even more important that I pick one of those champions to balance out our damage.
By the way, just so you know you're also shitting on actual professional players' picks. Competitive is a different beast, but if Brand and Zyra were just gimmick cop-outs we wouldn't see them at World's.

Except for this bit:
Zed - Upon killing an enemy champion with Death Mark, Zed permanently gaiuns a portion of their attack damage for himself.
I predict a high-ass banrate for Zed.
Brand supports generally buy Liandry's Torment as well, but getting gold isn't much of a problem when you have the Bandit mastery and just landing one of your spells procs all three Spellthief's stacks.
Just slapping the enemy with your point-and-click E nets you a cannon minion's worth of gold from Frostfang.
Rylai's is a significantly more important purchase for Brand. Liandry's Torment is one of the best items in the game for him, but Rylai's just packs SO much utility into one item it's fucking disgusting.
Spellthief's/Frostfang are easy to proc, but that doesn't make up for the shit load of money CSing can generate. Morgana - someone I actually play - has a similarly easy time proccing all of her stacks, but you still end up poor as fuck compared to the average laner unless you just shit death all over the bot lane and jungler. You're stuck spending 800g on Sightstone + ~1000g on boots, then either going for Eye for an earlier powerspike or Ruby for the stronger item. That's a huge investment before you're able to get into stuff like Rylai's. You can delay 4th ward, but personally I never do regardless of what champion I'm playing. And that's on top of probably ~300g for pinks by this point, plus pots. Support money gets eaten up a lot faster than it seems from the outside.
Right now you should be rushing at least Aegis if there's an actual AP damage source on their team. If by the time you finish basic core items - SS/boots 2 - their AP damage threat doesn't even have 1 item completed then start on Rylai's, but otherwise Aegis is just frankly too efficient of an item to delay right now.
[editline]19th October 2016[/editline]
It's shitty as an offensive caster to have to rush an item that doesn't give you damage, but the item is broken. Locket is even stronger, but Rylai's is huge on Brand so unless there was a LOT of burst damage from the enemy team I personally would try to scrimp and scrounge at least the NLR before going to Locket.
Can we talk about the jungle changes for a moment? Because I think they deserve some mention.
Smite buffs are gone, Smite now just heals, Krugs split, Gromp enrages at the start (not sure how much of an effect this is), Strength of the Ages is gone, new mastery that gives you a shield when you inflict CC.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of SotA getting nixed. It was perfect for junglers and now it's gone. Why is it getting removed?
Pretty sure you have to get the killing blow with your Death Mark, which is not always an option..

With every season comes a jungle change. It's a given by now, done from Season 2. But most of the predictions to come with jungle changes have not been accurate, and I'd wait to actually play the changes before judging them.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of SotA getting nixed. It was perfect for junglers and now it's gone. Why is it getting removed?
Because it was a 'solved problem.' You took SotA as a jungler if you were going tank, or wanted a little more tankiness as an off-tank, period. There wasn't really much thought around when to swap. Riot hates solved problems, same as any company with a MP game they want to keep alive - Dota 2, Hearthstone, whatever. If they don't make changes like that occasionally the game will stagnate and people will stop playing, which kills their income.
Just be happy they didn't completely scrap and remake masteries. Again.

Just as an aside, I'd like to point out that as a trade-off, the passive on Zed's W:
W passive: Zed's bonus attack damage is increased by 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20%.
Has been removed. Not sure if that makes a huge difference, but he doesn't have 2 free sources of AD at once, at least.
y'all complaining about zed getting free ad, i'm having a giggle at the fact that talon can jump over every fucking wall on the map.

One of those games where you've given up on life.
Jungle camp respawn timers are almost doubled and Gromp and Krugs spawn 15 seconds later than the rest.
Jungling is gonna be fun when preseason hits.
fuck the jungle role
I still can't believe this game got football clubs fighting in a challenger series that's labelled the "death of teams", what the fuck happened to esports.
Once again calling this out because it just keeps happening:

my friend has such a high elo that somehow in blind pick we always get at least one diamond player on the other team. he's never played ranked and he's not even as good as them.

Looks like a normal game. Normals MMR is different and separate from ranked MMR.
Did something happen to Syndra while I wasn't looking? I used to pretty much never see her and since about 2 weeks ago, I almost consistently see her every few games.

Why do you even care when it's a normal game, Jesus if you're laning against the diamond at least you'll learn from an experienced player.
I don't know why you're trying to call it out here as if we're working for Riot.
Not trying to sound like a dipshit but you're not the only one who's experienced this and you'll come to learn to live with it.
