I mean as preventing it/avoiding the hit, not enduring it.
I remember that being impossible when I used to play with Ra (even when I bulit up MR), especially when he spams it 3 times in a row.
So I just got into the beta and played my first game. It was pretty amazing.
Everyone only had the free heroes to use and I picked Artemis. We got whooped early. They had all of our towers down before we had any of their tier two towers down and we only had [I]one[/I] tier one down. Since this was my first game I was just trying to get a feel for everything and see what's up. As we were losing and I was looking though the items I was wondering if we would have a chance for a comeback because the items seemed to scale like LoL, as in there is a constant upwards arc of power and the enemy was getting pretty fed. I don't know what we did to bring it back our way but it started happening, slowly. Three people would push a lane and hit a tower and then back up a bit. A small fight would break out and we would nab half of a tower. It was all just little stuff that snowballed back to our advantage. Eventually teamfights broke out and they were [I]ugly[/I] for the other team. Despite not knowing what I was really doing I felt like I was doing something right because after a certain period of time the enemy team wanted my head on a pike. We eventually downed two Phoenixes and won with a comeback. Ton of fun, would play again.
[B]E:[/B] I might stream some later tonight for shits. Also, are Guan Yu, Hades and Hel any good? They seem cool and might be one of the first Gods I'll unlock.
I have a beta key if anyone is interested, if you have a counter-strike global offensive key, i would like to trade for that, but it is more likely i will just give it away anyway. PM if you are interested.

Hel is hit and miss if she gets harassed by whoever she's against in lane it can be hard to recover with her from what I see. Way too many gods ults on an early Hel is majority of time a free kill too. A good Hel is extremely annoying though.
Guan is good, hades seems kinda bad from just playing games and seeing people use him. People can escape his ult with items/leaps and generally seems inferior to others imo.

Guan Yu is bueno, Hel depends and Hades is Ra tier imo, he just feels weaker compared to other heroes (esp since it's pretty easy to escape from his ult).

So after a few more games, this game is definitely open to comebacks. Three of my four wins were all drawn out but big comebacks.

Start with tier 2 CC boots and some MANA pots, the tier 2 cc boots should be more than enough to keep you alive with hp5. get your 2 first, just in case of a really early gank, then your 3, then your 1 or 2, depending on how much they're harassing, then take the one you didn't take before, then just level your 2 and 3, with leveling your 1 when it seems like it's starting to become weak/you need it in a teamfight etc.

Tho game is bound to get way cooler when they add gods like Ares, Thor, Kronos and so on.
i bought agni, and he's extremely fun to play. i hope they keep making heroes as good as they are now, and hopefully they wont get the curse of LoL where every other champion has reused mechanics.
Sobek is a right powerhouse, my second game as him. Amusing part is that the Zeus on our side left because we were a "retarded team", then came back when we were owning.

Yeah it's getting bad. If i have 2 others for a premade we never lose, even if the other two drop the ball. But if i just queue with one other its so hard to win
Because of it, as soon as I see Anubis and Ra on my team (while team select, I always play games 'till the end even if I lose) I instantly alt+f4.
Better to be deserter for few minutes than to rage for half an hour.

I have died once, that is a single time in 10 games.
Edit: Crap just died 5 times in one match but I was holding the middle lane against an Agni. Got ganked a couple of times due to teammates not calling empty lanes.
