Has FPArma done a large scale campaign, with mission makers making scenarios within the same "timeline" as it were

The Bystrica Campaign comes to mind.
OP was eh for me. Sat at a lighthouse doing nothing but taking cover from armour we couldn't take out ourselves. Then moved and sat in a house watching more armour we couldn't take out shoot us while CAS fucked up a fort. Moved into the fort and got shot at by friendlies who kept shooting at us even after the first couple of squad members went down.
After moving through the city at a snails pace because we had to wait for a medic to rez our squad I got shot and died because there wasn't a medic about and only medics could give blood and epi (moronic idea in my opinion).
Anyways, I'm still working on the Hajji Airlines video still. Had no time this weekend. It might be out this week.

cool
i'm thinking of sorting out a campaign with a scenario flow, trailers etc
will need happy mission-makers though unless i manage to learn
We should get some of our better mission makers together and make a cool, well thought out campaign.
I mean if they want to, I guess.
Well, I want to do another campaign and to do it properly
But I'm waiting for Tanoa
After 3DEN came out making missions has actually become enjoyable.
I'd be happy to help out though
cool
who would people prefer as the antagonist for an invasion of europe
a) russians with african support
b) americans
c) independent weirdos
rate: informative for russians, tool for americans, artistic for indi
What do you guys think of adding a screenshot montage at the end of OP videos? 30 seconds -1 minute of a bunch of highlight screenshots. Or would a imgur album be enough? I think it would be a neat idea, you could include screenshots of parts of the mission you would usually cut out in a video.
Also, can anyone do a good Hajji voice? If so PM me (another weird request I know).
And I would love another Campaign. Would be rad if there was focus on particular areas for certain missions:
Armour focused
Air asset focused (helicopter insertion/extraction and air support)
Spec Ops (Mid-week small missions to get additional benefits in the main Sunday Ops like we did in the last campaign).
And whatever the fuck else.
I'd happily do videos for the Campaign, maybe in the style of a soldier recapping what happened in the intro to the videos.

A russian campaign would be sick.
I'd also be happy to help out again.
However, doing a non-dynamic campaign would be a lot more taxing on Missionmakers than making it dynamic
Also I'd like to get more major operations into a campaign, along with more defence missions and feelings of consequence
I was going to work on a campaign with the Australia map and ALIVE but Australia was terrible, we didn't have nearly enough assets for the faction I wanted to act as OPFOR (Chinese), and I'm pretty busy right now as well
I do want any future campaign to have a wargame style system, where we fight each operation as a specific unit (like the US 95th "chucklefucks" motorized infantry regiment or the Finnish 4th mobile field kitchen company) on its own, with its own limited assets and also strategic support like strike fighters and division-level artillery
I also want special forces operations to become more freeform, with those units having an alloted amount of time to complete whatever objectives they're tasked with, be it recon or sabotage
More story elements (Tomoe do video introduction please ;_;) would be cool as well
Also it would be neccessary to fix the multitude of problems with the previous campaign
Also having a player sign up to be OPFOR commander would be pretty useful, giving the AI a strategic-operational brain and not having them being completely static, facilitating those defence missions you wanted to have - on this note, I was thinking of using zeus to allow the opfor commander to do his job, limiting his movement in the camera to where his troops and recon elements can see, but this would be pretty hard to do
Having more life behind the enemy lines would be useful as well, with supply convoys and headquarters elements that could be attacked
Having the same elements on the player side would be useful as well - GCI controllers or AWACS/Jstars would be pretty good in combination with fighter aircraft (strategic strike missions maybe?), firefinding radar would be pretty useful for knocking out that pesky artillery battery, and I imagine that some of you guys would even be up for driving ammunition trucks to the frontline to get ammo to battlegroups
(sorry for the wall of text, it's just that I like this stuff)

Indi weirdos gives more room for something unique, can help and probably will but it must be done correctly
Holy shit, that Australia map is 1600km squared.
Holy shit, that Australia map is 1600km squared.
1600km2 of lag and awful
It's a nice map but terribly unoptimised

Yeah I'd imagine with 1600 KILOMETERS squared

right, so here's the very very brief explanation
i'm going to make a scenario map, it's going to be a map of europe with different operation areas laid out based on the maps that arma has available

i've done this in paint, but you get the gist
so we have these operational areas with a scenario flow - dependent on victories and defeats
i'll put the NATO symbols for army groups and arrows to indicate offensives occurring, operations will either stunt or progress these offensives into Europe
CD ops will be spec ops missions targeted at certain specific objectives, aka sabotaging an ammo dump will limit the vehicles available to the enemy next mission etc
[editline]22nd February 2016[/editline]
video makers can make news reports based on the war, but we'll need on-point mission makers to craft missions within the storyline
[editline]22nd February 2016[/editline]
why the fuck does that map have sheffield marked in the UK what a strange choice
If we do a campaign, I call dibs on Logi stuff. I'll even get my scripts together.
Well, for most of my ideas they've been focused around a single map (hence Reshmaan, Australia or Al Rayak)
I can kinda see this working though
[editline]22nd February 2016[/editline]
Also that choice of Sheffield is quite strange
I'm casting my vote on Panthera A3.
Lots of space, variety, unique locations and even airports.

Shit, are we playing CnC now?
If so;

Welcome back, Commander.
Unit ready. Unit ready. Unit ready. New construction options available.
Act on Instinct is the best CnC song, though. Going to have to act if we want to live in a different world.

More like "Unit lost, unit lost, unit lost, unit lost, unit lost" considering this is FPARMA.
BTW Cloak, if we do use your idea all of the operation names better be named after CnC song names. Also I expect the intro editors to do the territory map thing.
expect one mission to contain a kirov airship that drops a single bomb, killing the entire company
also, something i would like to try would be an entirely air focused CD
so the objective would be the destruction of various enemy assets through fixed wing, get the FP flight squadron in the air and do something new
what's the best way of setting up automatic rearm and refuel in a CD tho, is there an object that just does it?
also, if we went with americans as the antags, how easy would it be to get the american army faction copied into the OPFOR side or would there be an easier way of doing it

I did that (albiet with a small amount of people) but Comfy Donwtime's view distance is pretty tiny for pilots.
Also we're talking CnC Tiberian games, not Red Alert.
It'd be possible to copy them to OPFOR, although we could also make actual US Army troops with the reskins we have
I would expect that to be a campaign full of friendly fire though as lots of euro countries use American equipment, plus it would be a lot to try and find proper assets for European countries that might or might not exist yet

Once I push out a stable build of fp_static_weapons, I plan on addressing some of the big issues with Comfy Downtime right now.
Some of those are the following:
* Fix 3DEN's fuckup with the description.ext settings. Possibly by falling back to a description.ext file. Dunno if they override mission.sqm set values, but god I hope so.
* Port the Broma Framework View Distance GUI and Functions over to Comfy Downtime, so Snipers and Pilots can actually see at distance.
* Look into porting some of my Logistics functions into Comfy Downtime to test the waters for future missions or possibly a campaign where they could be useful.

ACE Rearm, Repair and Refuel.
Placedown an Ammo Truck, A Repair truck (Add toolkits in it just in case) and a Fuel Bladder / Refuel Vehicle.
ACE 3.5.0 Should fix all the ACE Rearm issues we faced in the past, and ACE Refuel got improved aswell. You now even got an actual fuel nozzle model and everything. It looks really fancy.
As for repairing, Vanilla Repair with the Repair truck should still be a thing. And you can repair most things with the Toolkit. (Apart from Main rotors for some reason)
CD by default does not provide any auto Refuel/Repair/Rearm functionality. This is done intentionally, as I wanna keep the amount of scripts running to a bare minimum. And since these can be done with relative ease with Zeus placed assets, I don't see a lot of reason to try and shoehorn such a thing into it.

we could focus on German and UK military gear to try and eliminate friendly fire as much as possible
whichever way is easier for having the americans on OPFOR
