Been working on another FSM since BIS added the newfangled AI controls. [video=youtube;p_vwN1ffSr4]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_vwN1ffSr4&feature=youtu.be&user=cmbunit01[/video] Idea behind this is to get over the usual fight-to-the-death mentality of the AI somewhat. So, what it does is it checks if the AI group has taken around half casualties. If this is the case, then they'll try to fall back to a designated fall-back position. If, however, the enemy is too close to them for them to safely conduct a withdrawal, OR the enemy is closer to the fallback position than they are i.e. between them and it, then they'll try to find a relatively safe place in the opposite direction of the enemy to move to first, before moving to the fallback position. Not a perfect solution at the minute, but I think it's better than the current AI's lack of self-preservation. It's very much a scripted type of FSM, rather than a dynamic one i.e. they're not actively trying to search for their own fallback positions - it's predetermined; but maybe in the future I'll be able to expand upon it.
